Hi, sorry for my bad english.
I have a Samsung e500, it's my old device. It broke the screen and I have lots of memories in it, I want to take them out. But when I tried plugging the device into the device without the monitor, it didn't respond. if it needs a monitor to boot because I plan to buy a new monitor myself, otherwise I'll take it to a service center

Static electricity.. have read about it in some guides and articles..
The best would be to use a magnet attached to your USB cable. That should prevent shutting down... Digital camera's usually have included this kind of cables.. It's even required to meat some ISO guide-line

Use a USB cable with that bulky thing attached to it. Some network cables have them too... maybe you can take it off easy..
DO NOT USE A regular magnet!! it's too powerful and might damage more than you think!
thnks, ill try it and get back to you....
you learn something new everyday.
Unboxed the packing, Charged the Nook for 3Hrs. It wont turn-on on pressing the power button on the back. I have tried long press for as long as 1min. Still no help.
It just displays Fully charge the device before first use !

It show a green light when connected for charging.
One more thing is that when I connect to the computer, It shows some error USB Notification - "USB Device not recognized".
I have seen a few things about taking the nook apart, I think it would be my last resort. I don't replacement is viable option as I got it shipped to India.
Hoping some one would help me out.
It seems that the charging system/battery has gotten out of whack.
Usually people open the case, disconnect then reconnect the battery.
It could be that the battery is bad too.
It's good that it shows something when plugged into the USB.
What exactly is the unrecognized USB device PID/VID?
Replacement
I thought of taking it apart but it has break seal on the screw. Didn't wanna void warranty .
Thank you for the help ! I just found someone to take it back to the States. B&N will replace the device.
Recently I dropped my phone and it fell on the ground. Of course it cracks knowing my luck and i can no longer touch it. Is there a way that I can use ADB or some other program to allow me to control my phone from my computer? I have taken pictures of the phone screen! Also is there anywhere that i can find a new LCD screen for cheap?

See here for ADB help + guide, you should be able to pull all the files off your phone:

Also, it is never good to buy a cheap screen replacement because you will get issues with it. rather spend a bit more and get a quality one :good:

That's hardware, software can't fix hardware. Take it to a specialist.
