Just bought a new phone OnePlus 8 Pro with HydrogenOS and upgraded it to OxygenOS. Although simple I thought this could be of help:
Preparation
Download OxygenOS latest version from OnePlus official website, make sure you choose OnePlus 8 Pro
Copy to phone's root directory
Installation
Power on the phone, no SIM, skip WIFI setup
Go to System > System Updates > Top Right Corner > Local upgrade
The package will be visible, click to update.
Package will be installed, confirm reboot
Installation will take a while
At some point the phone will reboot and get stuck at the dot animation (red dot with two white dots circling around)
Press power + volume up to reboot
Once the phone reboots, press power + volume down immediately to go into recovery
System reset
Good to go!

Internal storage in win explorer says 15MB of used storage, 0 MB free.
seems like there are a couple of guys with this issue but every time they post this question related to a specific oxygenOS release, the thread is closed

Ok, i got it working to a point. Now I can get it into the root directory, but it says that its too old for my phone to install and refuses to install it. I think i have to root the phone as the next step, but I'll post updates as I go to keep you in the loop. Here's what you need to do to get to the same point I'm at now, i.e. getting the file into the root folder -- from a total noob (me) to you:
You're going to have to:
1. Go into Settings -->About phone, then tap Build number 7 times. It will make you a "Developer"
2. Hit the back button to go back to the main "Settings" page
3. Hit "System"
4. Hit "Developer options" (this menu will be unlocked after you hit "Build number" 7 times.
5. Turn on "OEM Unlocking"
6. Scroll down and turn on "USB debugging"
7. Go back to the main "Settings" menu
8. Scroll up to "Bluetooth & device connection", open it
9. Select "USB"
10. Select "File Transfer"
Now you'll be able to see your phone plugged into your pc as a storage device labelled "IN2020", you can copy and paste the .zip file directly into the main page of that device. Then when you go to do a local update you'll be able to select it, you'll just likely get a message saying that the version is too old an incompatible.
I'm gonna keep troubleshooting. Will update with more info if i get it. Please do the same if you figure it out before me.
After doing the above steps would my phone got rooted?

Ahoy! So this works, right? I hope to grab one (live in China) so will need to switcheroo immediately as I can't deal with non-google or playstore issues. I figure I won't use this, but will use the toolbox (https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t4103509/page13) as I did with colleagues ONeplus 7Ts. Yes? More than happy to unlock, root, install magidisk or TWRP, just want to check this is still an option.

And it did. Noice! Noted that the phone wouldn't pick up my wifi on a VPN enabled router ... but found a setting buried in wifi called 'Network rating provider' and switched it to 'none' from 'Google'. Seemes to have done the trick.
Loving finally having google assistant on a phone - coming from mate20x. does feel small though. thanks. to the person who posted by the way.
I also used two links with similar instructions. Had to use GOogle translate of course. https://www.zhihu.com/question/388849329 and https://24dian30.com/notebook/3413.html

4. Ok before this flashing process starts you have to get call and text on your phone. One way is to go to a corporate metro store and second one you know those who need second way.
5. Assuming that you have your phone rooted you need to download this rom and then copy it to root of your sdcard.
Download Custom MetroPCS ROM here

18. One Finished Hit Write to Phone. Your phone will reboot after its done. If You Get an Error don't worry just ignore it and reboot your phone.
For those of you who have an error completing the setup wizard, this is how I bypassed it.
1. From the wizard, on the Samsung account screen, select sign up for new Samsung account
2. Select log in with Facebook - which launches a browser
3. On that page click and hold a word to select it
4. Scroll to the right to do a web search
5. Select Chrome
6. Navigate to facebook.com
7. Click the link to download the app which launches the Play Store
8. In Play Store download Nova launcher and then launch
9. From here you can enable developer options and USB debugging
10. Root again and reboot
11.From here, you can use your ADB skills to rename/remove the SetupWizard.apk and SecSetupWizard2013.apk files from /system/app, or as I did, repeat the steps 1-7, install Root Explorer and alter the files that way.
12.Reboot
I hope this helps until we can install a custom recovery and flash ROMs.
Thanks to RandomHandle for helping me repeat the process to verify it worked, as well as clean up the instructions!
I followed all of the steps but for some reason I can't rename or delete the setup files. I re-rooted and even installed root checker to make sure I had root access but it's not letting me touch them.
Did you mount as R/W ?
I am able to rename those files with Root Explorer.

I am still getting boxes popping up occasionally saying that text-to-speech has stopped. Other than that the phone is working good. Thanks again for finding this clever fix.

Yeah unfortunately that is the only way to get into the browser to be able to get out of the wizard. Looks like you need to wait for the official firmware release.

Just flashed the OTA with no issues. Let's see how it performs compared to 44S, specially the radio.
TWRP tells me that gps.conf was changed and update failed. Always something.
What folder in the internal memory should I use?
Please advice
I am on 44S... I have rooted the device and having teamwin recovery...... Can I simply flash this OTA.zip???
TWRP
Doesnt flash with twrp for some reason.. gives an error with updater binary!
If I'm already using SwiftKey should I uninstall it before update?

i think if u wipe it it will get wiped
if u just flash on top of it u should be fine
For Indian users :
1. Download this cm-11.0-XNPH44S-bacon-signed-fastboot .
2. extract the zip and run the following 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' and 'fastboot flash system sytem,.img'.
3. Download OTA-UPDATE-05Q and transfer to phone.
4. Reboot phone to recovery i.e. hold power and vol down until you reach the oneplus logo.
5. Select the option to Apply Update--> From Internal Memory--> select the OTA file you have downloaded or you can do adb sideload.
6. Select Install/Yes and wait for 4-5 minutes.
7. Once the phone has rebooted, please do reboot once again to optimise the cache.
8. Thats it you are ready to go.!!!
Honestly there are about 4 other threads open with the OTA update and instructions on how to flash. Every single question on page 1&2 has been asked in nauseum throughout xda guys.. For crying out loud search it won't kill ya.
Its an OTA of course it won't wipe everything has any OTA ever wiped out your whole system
How can you get an answer to when stock rooted will be done when the guy that does it don't know. When it's ready its ready that simple
You need a complete stock OS with no changes to any SYSTEM files to be able to successfully flash OTA or else it will fail in recovery TWRP or any of them.
Lastly OP why post a zip when you know you have not reached your limit. If people are too lazy to search for answers the extra steps you created definitely will only cause extra issues. Thx for your contribution though
*Facepalm
Flash it like a regular Rom. Zip file through custom recovery.
WARNING: PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES AND GETTING ERRORS IF THEY PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED EXPOSED FRAMEWORK AND TAMPERED WITH THE FRAMEWORK SETTINGS. THEN DON'T FOLLOW THESE STEPS!! ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAD A COMPLETE STOCK, UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, ROOT, CUSTOM RECOVERY SHOULD BE FINE!!
*these are the steps I did and I'm running everything fine on my end*
..On Stock 44s Build..
If already unlock bootloader, root, custom recovery..
-download the zip file
-place it in the internal storage
-(if you want root *download the latest supersu.zip file) other wise you will have no root! Place that in the internal storage as well
-boot into recovery (I'm using the latest twrp recovery)
- MUST WIPE FACTORY DATA RESET, WIPE DATA & CASHE!!
-flash rom
-flash supersu
-reboot and you should be on the new ota with root
Flashed over stock without a problem.

niga??? You do not mistake or may be lost?
In General, I tried to install flyme rom with gapps and without gapps, error 7, 20. Did a wipe (data, dalvik, cache, system) flashed again the error, I decided to reboot. A miracle happens, the phone boots into CWM-based Recovery and now all sewn up. When you first start (setup) for a long time hung about 8-10 minutes on the splash screen flyme. So You'll have to try.
I have flashed form stock rom to flymeos using latest twrp recovery but you should wipe all except internal SD?

flyme 5 is beautiful. Have a fish eye bug at camera. And frontal camera is more bugged.
I have been trying to fix a Bluetooth issue on this unit I bought about a year ago and I chased this down the rabbit hole to locate a isobooot.bin for what looked like an identical Device under a brand name. I installed it but it's a different resolution and touch screen no longer works. Anyone have experience with these units? I'm also interested in the firmware for the newer 5" AA motorcycle display that seems to fix this BT issue. Thanks.

Update. I have located a compatible file under the Brand Name Maxca on FB and I have recovered this device. I would still like to learn more about mods and regular firmware updates. Thanks.

At this moment I have the August 2022 update, but thereis no option for change the boot logo and the UI of the home screen is different (in a bad way) then the advertised image, which havee big tiles...
Then we're basically looking for the same latest version - I only know about the Aug 22 version
So some info, I bought a "Carsara" branded one.
I was disapponted for 2 particolar reason, this is why I'm here.
1. the UI in the selling page was way more minimal and easy to use (mine was like a 1990 headunit)
2. there was no option to change the boot logo
Well, they send me and old firmware (Of another brand, ""Maxca"" ,wich I think it's the main producer of this devices) with the Old UI, it's fantastic, but the Android Auto Wireless it's not working anymore.
In this old firmware you can edit the boot logo with a lot of car brand.
Cerry on top if you whant to customize the boot spash screen with one created from you, create a "logo.jpg" image, resolution 1024x600 and"put it in the same USB where you put the ISPBOO0T.bin file. After two reboot you will see your logo on the boot up. NICE!!!!
On some of the latest firmware you only have to boot up the device and connect the usb with the "logo.jpg" inside, the device will do the rest. Reboot and engoy.
For who whants to try the old firmware with the WAY COOLER UI here is the link:
https://drive.google.com/drive/fold...onversation.0.0.1bc53e5fLQyHZL&usp=share_link
Basically I'm unable to have the OLD UI with a working Wireless Android Auto. It's very sad, the unit is nice.

Can you post a photo of the unit you have and what home UI you have now?
The unit I have is the exact unit in the original post (although the outlets are on the left side, not the right side).
I will have to try to remember to photograph the UI tonight when I am home. Regarding the boot logo- in the Engineer menu (or whatever it's called, pin 123456) there is an option to change the boot logo with several brand logos. I have read that if you great an image of the correct resolution and extension and place it on an SD card it might show up as an option on that screen.

Correct and it works, If you read up I've explained how, late I'll post some photo and videos to be more clear.
Honestly it's the first time I see no support on some software modding, and the market for this thing it's not small..
An alternative ip67 just a bit more refine and specific for motorcycle it's 250euros, I've payed mine 47euros.
