Hi there, I have a problem with my display - it is dimming in bright sun light and too dark when I'm using auto brightness mode. I've tried a couple of programs to test my lux sensor - every single one is showing the same - uncalibrated sensor. Is there anyone who can help, please?

Does anyone know the exact position of the light sensor on N1?
Also I found the automatic brightness a little dim for me
IMO i should be able to set brightness relative to light sensor, as on symbian devices
I believe its in the top left on the front, next to proximity sensor, i use manual brightness settings.
Hi!
I have a Samsung B7610.
I also have O2Compass, but I didn't know that the app includes more features then just the compass - it has also metal detector, spirit level and light sensor.
All of them work except light sensor, it always show 0.
Why is that?
Hi,
The metal detector is a trick from compass.
For the light sensor, check in your settings if you did not set the screen light to a manual value.
You're right, I did have screen brightness to manual, however I did set it to Automatic, but still the light sensor shows 0 lux, I tried to use *#0*# Light Sensor Test, but it shows light presence.
Hello gays,
I have problem with my light sensor on P8. Time to time, when I've light my display it doesn't switch automatic brightness, stay on minimum illumination. Wen I turn off display and light up again, there is normal brightness??? Does someone know what can be done?
Hi
The AOD seems to be bright in the morning but when it gets darker in evening it remains readable for only a few seconds and then dims down so badly that one cannot read anything on the AOD at night when there is pitch darkness.
I did set the brightness option in the AOD settings but that doesnt seem to help at all.
I'm not using Auto Brighness control also for the display.
Anyone else seeing this particularly at night?

Yes, in low light conditions the aod is to dim...in normal light conditions the aod is good!
Hope they fix it in an update!
Are you using any type of screen overlay?

Yes i use Lux-Autobrightness, but deactivated the overlay-right. Otherwise some system animations wont work...like blur in the power off screen, also you cant install non playstore apps with some type of overlay active (android security-feature). But Lux is not the problem, aod is also to dim without lux! Aod simply sets the screen brightness to low in dark enviroments.
Hi,
My screen is always dark with light automatic or manual... And my screen stays black during/after a call.
I have to put the light manual with high level to have a readable screen.
Which sensor is in cause? Light sensor or proximity sensor?
Thanks.
