Hello everyone i have the battery drain issue for my mi 9t with android 10 i'm actually at miui 11.0.5 qjfeuxm. I have done a lot , like switch sim card to Lte disable bloatware even a complete reinstall , but the drain is still here ,cleared some caches(google services, google, play services) and reboot . Are you aware of a future fix? or a miracle solution?

This issue is related to 11.0.5.0 update. We can't do anything but to wait for next update, although make sure all your Google apps are upto date, especially if you're having animations lag. Problem seems to be compatibility related with installed apps, you'll also notice improved battery life once you update all the installed apps and if there's any lag, that'll be fixed too.
Well the point is that I've already done all of that I don't know what to do next to improve that battery

If your phone's bootloader is unlocked, you can try to use a custom kernel (safer if you backup "boot" and "dtbo" partition before installing custom kernel) and/or a debloat script (I don't like it because you can broke some MIUI functionalities and get a bootloop...) to improve battery life.
I would like to keek the bootloader locked and I already debloat some bloatware with Xiaomi adb fastboot tools with a sure list of safe to debloat but nothing changed very much I Always have Android system approximately at 30% of battery usage
Did you remove Chrome also with adb tools? Reduced Android system to 15% for me.

I think "Download latest package" in the updater and actually performing it is worth a shot.
FYI: I'm on stock 11.0.4.0 EU with locked bootloader.

I was woried about Android System usage being to big, so I did what you did I debloated miui, and my Android system usage was still very high. But i tested how much screen on time I get and it was around 8-9 hours so I think it's quite good. Also I discovered that if you use Google podcasts then the time you listen goes in to Android system time.

I can barely have a sot of 5-6 hours ... But what's Google podcast ? Is there a way to disable it?
The feedback team confirmed me today in the Mi community that this is a bug already reported and they try to fix it..
You got a link to mi community with this statement (hoping it does not break XDA rules) ?
Because I'm afraid they tell you that but in fact, they do nothing, since this problem is present for months now.
I am also interested in updates on this topic... My Android system is always at 30-35%... I tried everything: disabled MIUI optimization, turned off several auto start options, used adb debloaters, forced app optimization through adb commands, use a macro that kills the Xiaomi service framework every 15 minutes etc etc. Literally nothing has worked on my 2 weeks old Mi 9t, so I am now asking myself if I want to stay at MIUI waiting for a fix or install a custom ROM such as Lineage.
Has anyone experience with lineage os on the Mi 9t. Are there any issues with it, i.e. similar battery drain issues?

I just hope they get this sorted out. I am on 65% battery and only have 1h 45min of SOT. That's unbelievable considering the mi 9t has a huge 4Ah battery.
Edit: I just watched the MIUI 12 reveal from today and it didn't really look like they paid attention to the battery issue, but concentrated more on adding sleek visual optics and animations... Not sure about the next update. But the first roll out is more than one month ahead (end of june) so I guess I'll be switching to lineage os for now

I was convinced on the forums that my system service drain was regular until I took a look at my buddy's phone , he has a le s3 with 2 sim cards and his system service doesn't normally go past 80 mAh on a full charge . Something has to be wrong

8 hours of SOT is really good. You can try installing Wakelock Detector to get a different perspective. Also, anything that uses accessibility services may harm battery life. Another thing you can do is go to settings-permissions-autolaunch and disable autolaunching of apps that don't need to be running all the time. You can see what apps are currently running in settings - app management. One last thing is that your signal strength isn't that great, so it may just be how it's supposed to be.

I'm in the same boat as you, only I'm running OmniRom. But yeah, had 8h sot, can barely make 6 now, android system is my second biggest drain, with 2+ hours of cpu usage.
I have tried and I have found that 7.1 to 8.1 do not have the best battery life.
I personally have been aopk 6.01 and been getting great battery life.
I did do a stress test I did gaming and blasting next radio 21 minutes use only 6% of battery.

Flash Magisk and try Greenify4Magisk. It's gotta be some third-party app you're running, or you have a bad cellular connection. Are you getting full signal on your phone? Do you have LTE running as well?

I guess you are on the Single SIM phone. From what I've been reading here and there, people are saying it is more finished than the DualSIM. Although it has a very aggressive battery saving settings so many of your apps will be terminated while the phone is on idle (apps such as Skype, Signal, WhatsApp etc.) unless you grant them exemption from battery saving.
The SOT is said to be shorter than Nougat.
However, to properly install the OTA you do have to have the factory recovery (not the TWRP).
(I'm on DualSIM and still Nougat so take my words just as a hint.)

I've been on Oreo for a while now and I would say that the battery life got better after a bit of use. Kinda like if the phone had to get used to my usage? Went from 2h SOT to nearly 4 and a half hours SOT. I didn't reset it or anything. Just went with it and it works fine for me. No real increase in power since nougat was already very smooth and powerful for me. I like the design though. Don't regret installing the update:victory:

So, since I've just messed up with my Xposed/Magisk install I think I use the 1st of May for upgrade and tweaks.
Hello guys. I know that this is a very common question not just in OnePlus 2 forum. I read some posts of this, tried, but no success. So far I've tried couple of ROMs but battery life is so disappointing. Best shot was RR ROM 8.1 official with BB kernel installed. After system and kernel installed, I've done a wipe of data. I wanted to make sure there is nothing except system on my phone. After that, all necessary apps I use. That was operating very good in few days. But recently, out of nowhere, battery life is awful! Over the night, with no use and battery saver turned on, I loose more than 20%! I know that I haven't downloaded any additional apps after first days of installation, I haven't changed any settings since first day... I added fingerprint lock 2 days ago and yesterday I turned it off. So What is going on??? Phone is not overheating, seems like there is nothing in the background running to drain battery.
If you know what could cause the problem, it would be very helpful. But I'm also opened for installing a new ROM, kernel...
Who is here with good battery life? Gimme some advice! Btw, I don't care if it's N or O, or anything as long as it's operating well, reliable and no bugs. Thanks!
That's probably a battery issue, install AccuBattery then see how much health your battery have(requires few charges).

I reached (haters gonnah hate) best battery life on lineage 13 with boeffla kernel (zanezam's uber builds, use some battery safe profile from profile thread or make your own), amplify, greenify (optimized accordingly to the corresponding thread, with xposed) and NO GAPPS. Get about 3 days with SOT of 2-4h or a sot of 6-9h on 1 day (on an old oneplus2, no gaming). You can also use dualbootpatcher and a second, battery optimized (but lagging) ROM so you can switch when you can't charge your phone for a longer period of time.

Forget everything with dualboot patcher, you would probably mess up your phone.
For everything else, use xda search. Seriously, you only have to type the apps i suggested 1:1 into the adress bar and you will find it! If you are too lazy for this, unroot and go back to stock.... seriously...
Edit:
Yes, i'm using this now (lineageos13) with a self compiled boeffla kernel (uber 8, camera focus fixed on 6.0.1 roms), greenify, amplify (own build), xposed (needed for amplify, greenify works better with it) and no GAPPS (= google apps--> no playstore, youtube, etc--> draining battery as hell, idk what they are always doing in the background...)
My boeffla profile: 3 cores 1250mhz max, big cores disabled, battery extreme governor, system and my apps (whatsapp, telegram, 9gag, browser) work fluently (they start up a very little bit slower than before).
Battery profile is same but with 2 cores 675mhz, still only few microlaggs (you have to disable all animations in developer settings), internet browser is slow (use a lightweight browser, such as firefox focus) apps open up slower but aside from that the phone is usable. If you're interested in the kernel and my profiles, please tell me (you still have A LOT of work to do by yourself, such as setting up amplify and greenify, disabling (system) apps you don't need, adjusting everything for your needs, deny unnecessary permissions on app ops xposed, etc).
Edit2:

Results can vary. As someone who flashes way too many ROMs - its an addiction - I currently use crDroid Oreo as my daily. I also flashed the blue bolt kernel. This seems to give me good battery. I do have a rooted version of the stock ROM I flashed in twrp backup. Just in case. With crDroid also backed up I can move quickly from one to the other in about ten min without losing all my settings. It is a good idea to occasionally do a fresh backup of one or both since apps added or deleted or updated and any changes you've made since last backup will not be kept otherwise.

Do you know dualboot patcher (google it )? Very nice opportunity to have multiple roms installed on the device (which even share the data for specific apps--> u have all your wa chats from one rom on the other, directly after reboot). Wouldn't recommend for people who can not restore a backup over adb (unexpected things can happen, but way better than always saving and restoring a backup)...

If you don't mind for a worse looking screen quality, you can use terminal emulator (with root), do a backup in TWRP(ALL partitions!) then type (hit Enter after each line):
"su" (grant root if asked)
"wm size 720x1280" (for 720p, it looks about the same as 1080p, u can also use 480x854)
"wm density 300" (200 for 480x854)
Then u can lower your cpu frequencies until it lags. (and disable system animations, my phone works fine at 480p with 2 cores at 768mhz max freq) will post sot/running time (without charging) when i have the time to test.
Hello, since MIUI 11 my Mi9T basically sucks. The battery drain is just insane (35/45% only Android idle power).
With MIUI12 things got even worse.
Tried any fix on earth, adb things, nothing solved.
There is a way (a ROM, a flashable package, an adb command, microg, what you want) to fix this insane problem that no one managed to solve and that is killing every mi9t?
thanks. Heard that even changing rom doesnt solve the problem in many cases.
Same here, but I dont have aby problem with Miui11. When I get Miui12, battery drain makes me feel like something is wrong with my phone from the hardware point.

Hey everyone,
I've observed low idle battery drains by disabling some system apps on MIUI 12.
List: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VEFtOO89gxExNz7XxJPOl5X-TgyzweIS/view?usp=drivesdk
I assume that it should work for Miui 11 as well.
Why don't you give it a try and let me know how it works for you?
Steps:
1. Freeze using App Control on SD Maid (ROOT)
2. Force Stop Frozen apps
3. Make sure to remove autostart permissions using Appops
4. Make sure they're not running through the App Control tab on SD Maid
I'm guessing that you can also disable these apps using adb if you dont have root.

Would suggest that you check if any of these apps are running in the background.
They're so mischievous they keep running even when you've frozen them.

Hi y'all,
bought my first OnePlus ever a week ago but I get like 5 hours of Screen On Time, while I saw here on xda people getting even 10 hours with 120 Hz.
Running latest stock ROM, not rooted because I actually don't need root.
FHD+ 120Hz, no AOD.
Factory reset done, Wipe Cache done.
I'm not gaming, using my phone for Chrome, WhatsApp and Social Media (not 24/7).
Any tips for me?
I kinda do like the phone and may keep it, but I hate to say that my 3 years old P20 Pro still gets 6-8h SOT. I know, display is better on 8Pro but still...
I dont have a problem installing custom ROM and custom Kernel if that's gonna get me towards those 8+ hours SOT.
If installing custom ROM, I still need my banking apps working/safe, if that's maybe not the case.
Thanks!
Stay on latest OOS, root and use a custom kernel

But with root my Banking Apps may not work right? Paypal/Crypto/etc. may not work or be safe either or?
I already tried debugging with GSAM Battery Monitor and noticed that Google Play Services wakes the device pretty often but somehow doesnt use much % Power. Google Play Services has also the highest Sensor Time of all apps.
Any tips on that one?
And also, which Kernel? Bluspark?
Turn auto brightness off if on; then set brightness low.... See if it helps.

I don't use auto brightness and I use brightness at like 35-45%. So that shouldn't be an issue either. Thanks for the tip though.

I also just got the 8 pro and am noticing battery drain. What kernel do you recommend?

Hi y'all,
bought my first OnePlus ever a week ago but I get like 5 hours of Screen On Time, while I saw here on xda people getting even 10 hours with 120 Hz.
Running latest stock ROM, not rooted because I actually don't need root.

Just got the 8 Pro also ... brand new. Noticing battery drain as well. I lost 10 % overnight. Are you seeing similar drain?

It will take few days to settle up but still, with stock OOS it was bad.
I flashed LineageOS + Magisk + Radioactive Kernel and I am still testing it out but it doesnt seem to be much better than stock. Maybe a bit but no way of reaching 8 hours SOT.
I'd suggest try something else and report here, so I can test it out too.
I was thinking of testing PixelExperience and/or Stock rooted OOS with custom Kernel but I'll give a LineageOS a chance 2-3 days more.

Thanks. I just installed Omega Kernel and that seems to have made a slight difference.
Do you use AccuBattery by chance? My estimated capacity is 3855 mAh ~ design capacity is reading correct @ 4510 mAh. Not sure how accurate this is, but it would mean that the battery isn't what it should be or received a used device / defective battery?

How can you flash Havoc | Custom Roms without TWRP? Where can I find Havoc? I didn't see in the custom ROMS / Kernels section.

How's Havoc battery life after a day? I added Naptime and am using the Magisk Module GMS Doze. My overnight drain dropped from 10% to 7%, which is still way too high. I am using xXx No Limits as well.

I haven't set my phone fully yet because i wanted to try the Rom out. I have now "only" Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Discord and few smaller apps logged in but that's it. I don't know about standby drain but I'm now at 51% battery with 4hours screen on which means it's better but still no chance of reaching 10 hours. 7 hours should be reachable right now
