I downgraded to marshmallow from nougat and vibrate broke. Motor beeps (yes, motor, not speaker) when it tries to vibrate. Can this be really software issue? I Flashed stock firmware again with Odin and smart switch.
It seems hardware problem, but strange that it appeared just when I downgraded...
Can't be a hardware problem as I have the exact same problem. I too was running the beta program Nougat and decided to leave. Flashed a BTU rom and now I too have lost vibrate. Just a faint beep coming from the earpiece when I go into vibrate mode. Anyone any ideas on what to do ?
Have you tried nougat again?

Like I said in previous post I had installed the Nougat rom via Odin.. I then plugged the phone into my PC and started the Smart Switch app.. It told me there was a newer version of the OS available (which is actually the current Marshmallow version), and I let it install it, and vibrating still works.. So maybe you could try that.. Seemed to work for me anyway.

Thanks! Worked!
If you downgrade from 7.0 to 6.0 you need to downgrade your BL and CP too not just the rom. Hope it helps.?

Temporarily upgrade to Android 7 to fix the vibration issue then use odin to flash final version of android 6.0.1. You must flash all 4 files contained in the extracted (unzipped) firmware package but ignore the home_CSC file. IMPORTANT...tick the option in odin "phone bootloader update". This process will wipe all data on the phone but will give you a fully functioning galaxy s7 with Android 6.0.1 marshmallow!

For me, upgrading back to Nougat didn't fix it. Did you upgrade to Nougat using Odin and the "phone bootloader update" or did you just use the official install method?
dowgrade to Marshmallow today , everythig is working fine except the camera "camera failed" error .. tried all solutions given on internet .. any fix ?

Hi, I tried to downgrade from android 7 to 6, but after i extract the firmware, it has 8 files, which most of them look like a cd pictures. Not the file that we expected like BL, CP, etc. None of them like those 4 files that they should be. So I can not continue to use odin, because the extractted files is totally different. Any idea what happen?.
Thanks
No vibration s7 edge after downgrade
Hello i downgraded s7 edge from nougat helios custom rom to marashmallow decent ultralite 5.0 custom . Now my vibrator is not working. I tried flash bootloader via odin it says fail . Please help
i found solution for no vibrator after downgrade nougat to marshmallow
i found solution for no vibrator after downgrade nougat to marshmallow
i found solution for no vibrator after downgrade nougat to marshmallow
S7 edge is not vibrating after downgrade nougat to marshmallow, it is because you are using nougat bootloader in Marshmallow, you just have to flash with odin the correct MARSHMALLOW bootloader and CP and the vibrator will work just fine.

6 december 2018, i extremely recomend use Decent ultralite 5.0 MARSHMALLOW ROM in samsung S7, it is very fast and stable, S7 is designed for marshmallow.

My vibrate problem is because I updated to oreo. Any solutions for this?

Maybe because the Sprint Oreo will be using BLv6 so its 2 numbers behind everyone else? lol ... anyone have any thoughts about what the BL-version could possibly be for the Sprint Oreo? ... could they or would they use a BLv4 like everyone else?
that was the Sprint answer

If anything, they would change it to v7. Maybe they are waiting for a merger, which could happen next week
I checked for update today and got 1627.64mb g930pvpu6cre7 Samsung experience 9.0 with oreo.
I haven't gotten an update from Sprint on my S7 since December 2016. I am still on some random Nougat beta version.
I thought a brand new firmware update to Oreo would reset whatever bug was in there causing this, but it looks like one person in my house got the Oreo update and mine is still saying I am up to date when I check manually.
Is there no longer an ODIN for macOS? I thought there was one, but I used it on another Mac maybe 4 years ago when I was on my S3 and rooting it. Doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Just received oreo on my s7 for boost. So far I'm not impressed. I was really hoping for Dolby on this but guess not. The build number is SMG930PVPU6CRE7

On Mac you can use Heimdall to flash the latest Nougat firmware then update through OTA to Oreo. Because there isn't any firmware file yet on Updato or Sammobile.
i manfully updated @ 4:15. they sent it @ 1627.64 mb. still downloading. when I got my att update I tried all the batch root methods for my 935a. saving magisk for last bc I didn't have the boot.img for the cre4 update.
I I only had the "att beta" update from March. long story short it won't boot with the nougat eng.boot. I gave it an hour. I cleared the cache, factory reset, tried to add flash all of the earlier img files I had for oreo, nothing worked. had to flash it back to nougat bra1. I immediately requested the update again. they approved. the next day I attempted to flash magisk 16.4. w/ the modified odin 3.1.3 version. it wouldn't flash. with the cre4 boot.tar in hand, I tried every method on gods green earth to gain some sort of r/w access. it was late, I was tired, I flashed the eng boot. once again it was stuck at the Samsung boot logo. it wouldn't allow me into recovery to push the cre4 update zip. once again I'm back to bra1 nougat. I booted into recovery & updated it from the sd card. when it booted I noticed it wasn't anywhere as clean & polished as the ota I had twice. I've flashed back to brd1 ten times, & requested the ota. after smart switch, I used all the avail windows software I could acquire & kept trying, they won't send it. but they did provide me with a new picture for my samsung account. I'll post it later. gotta check out this 930p oreo.

I don't think Heimdall works on High Sierra or even Sierra anymore.
I'm wanting to move to a SM-930U version of stock android on my 930P. But in struggling to do so for the past couple of weeks I finally figured out that sprint as updated the bootloader to version 5 and most of the firmware images for 930U are version 4 (android 7 nugut). (PU4 vs PU5) which results in a Odin fuse error.
The phone is currently nagging me to go from PU5BQL1 to BU6BRD2. If I understand the nameing convention that would move me to version 6 of the bootloader.
What are the odds I can move to oreo for 930U and avoid the bootloader fuse issue? I think I also understand that as of this posting date a 930U oreo firmware has not been released?

almost zero... asuming that Oreo for "U" Variants step up with BL on this month maybe next one, is something pausible but stepping up two versions in any short time is questionable... but who knows. The best you can do is wait this or the next month for BL update on U variants.
To be clear I'm still on version 5. I will continue to put off the upgrade to 6.
I try with Odin but it is not...please.

I believe i read somewhere on here that you can only flash the same bootloader version as 8.0 is version 2 so the only one you can downgrade to is one with bootloader version 2 and that is 7.0 i understand. Correct me if i am wrong though,

I'm surprised they would allow 6.0.1 firmware to flash what model is your phone sm-g935f and was it on 8.0?
BL code drops to 6.0 without code but network goes

Hello,
I downgraded to 6.0 but phone is now stuck in boot loop and i'm unable to access recovery mode.
I'm only able to access download mode.
Please how can i resolve this problem?
Hey guys, who knows do we have option like — flash fw with older bootloaders and then do isolated new bootloader flash to make older fw work?
Something like that, because i "heard" similar tricks in internet, like people are flashing modem and bootloader bins separately after downgrade flashing like from android 8 to 6. But didn't find proper instructions on that.
Is it possible? Is there instruction out there?
Yeah, oreo is better than nougat and yeah yeah new features, new updates blablabla. I just believe that every device is always better with its first software - we all saw and know how Apple does, i dont think that other companies dont do something like this...after masscopy of notches personally i dont have any doubts...why you think samsung "upgrades" this bootloader sh*t? It's the same thing like it was with iphone 4s - no downgrade option, and "upgraded" version of fw forcedly reduced the work of processor and other performances - you forced to BUY new one. Same politics in Samsung.
Well, for me marshmallow is better than all others in using S7 - it's faster and bugfree than nougat or oreo, yes it's oldy and even some basic performance features not exist, but still android 6 is the best for S7. I used custom roms but they are really buggy, badly buggy, definitely not a choice for everyday using. Oh i missed the days with nexus phones...not pixels.

Yes. It's just not officially released yet. I've been scouring the web for a leak. This means Oreo has been built for our device already and the official release coming. If you're curious about WiFi Alliance, wikipedia has good information about them.

I'm already running Oreo. TWRP has problems with it. I can't make a backup of the OS. You can restore a back up, but you have to flash the BL file from ARG2 then wipe everything in TWRP first. SuperSU 2.82-SR5 will cause a boot loop. I'm going to try magisk 17.1. Honestly, I'm very disappointed with Samsung's Oreo... It's almost the exact same as Nougat, and the new camera sucks, very bad. They gave us Nougat, with Oreo 8.1 as the base firmware. That's my literal take on it. I'm definitely getting a Moto G6 after seeing this, and I'm going back to my stock build.

I have, and flashing back to nougat works fine. You have to flash ARG2 for it to work, and you can't downgrade the Modem. I'll put together instructions and probably a debloated ROM later this evening, and I'll get the firmware uploaded ASAP. Some notes, clearing the camera data fixes the blurry image problem, and it can be rooted. You need the latest TWRP, and Magisk 17.1 stable. You must flash TWRP, swipe to allow modifications, then format data with the option that makes you type "yes", then flash magisk. Root works perfectly. No issues. I'm debloating the OS right now. I'm about to test Viper too. Its actually much faster than Nougat once the junk is out and yes, it can be fully deknoxed. This might not be so bad. I'm still disappointed with their lack of Oreo-esq cosmetics though.

I've got 3 of 4 firmware files uploaded. The AP file is giving me trouble cause my WiFi sucks, and it keeps failing before it finishes. I did put together a full stock Oreo ROM but its got problems. You can only flash it using TWRP if you have the ARG2 bootloader, but, the ARG2 bootloader, won't allow Oreo to boot up no matter what. We'd need a custom boot.img and I can't make one. The ROM can't be flashed with the Oreo bootloader installed either, because it prevents TWRP from copying/writing to the data or system partitions. If it tries to, it'll reboot half way through. Magisk 17.1 will also lose root after awhile. We need a custom boot, or we need a modified root method and an updated TWRP to have any fun with it. SMH at Samsung right now. They gave us Oreo, with no milk, and a slap in the face. Nougat everything, running on Oreo 8.1 firmware... I'll never get over that. I'm running an ARG2 build cause everything works, and largely looks the same. I swear, they didn't even try. They just reskinned some Nougat apps and put them in an Oreo system. I will never buy another Samsung product after seeing this half hearted Oreo they gave us.

Dear Sirs;
Having had to replace my originally bought (Nov 17, 2017) J7 Perx from Boost, then bricking it and replacing it with a Galaxy S6 refurb from Boost, which was then STOLEN by a "friend" of 6(six) years, has been replaced by a NEWER J7 Perx. This device received at lest 3, if not 4 OTA updates, one of which was a supplemental firmware/software update. About Phone (and Samsung INFO app) NOW reveal the following detail:
HARDWARE VERSION; J727P.02
Mfg date; 03/15/2018
Software Version; J727PVPU4BRH5
Android Version; 8.1.0
Samsung Experience; 9.5
Baseband Version; J7272PVPU4BRH5
Build Number; M1AJQ.J727PVPU4BRH5
Android Security Patch; August 1, 2018.
If given instruction and link to necessary utility to extract the firmware from my device to my PC, I would be more than pleased to provide the files(s) procured from that process.
I look forward to hearing more about possible deodexed firmware to ROOT my newest device.
A custom ROM would be nice, too.

Hello,
Recently I've updated my Galaxy S8 g950fd from Android 8.0 to 9.0, however i found it terrible and I would love to go back to 8.0. I've read many topics and all of them states that I have to downgrade it through the Odin. I've downloaded a few softs from websites:
SM-G950F_1_20181227130827_c3nriwjmas_fac
G950FXXS4CRLB
G950FXXS4CRLB_G950FOXM4CRL1_LYS
G950FXXU3CRGH_CL14023573_QB19093103
G950FXXS4CRLB_G950FOXM4CRL1_LYS
G950FXXU1AQG5_G950FOXM1AQG5_ZTO_4file
And non of them works. Odin keep showing FAIL message, phone stuck on bootloop and the only software I can use is 9.0 ( G950FXXS5DSF1_OXM5DSF1_(SM-G950FD))
At this moment I'm downloading 2 firmwares from sammobile.com website: XSG-G950FXXU4CRL3-20181218135110 and XSG-G950FXXS4CRLB-20190128142840 and I hope they will resolve the issue I'm facing.
What am I doing wrong? Is there any other way to downgrade my phone?
Thanks a lot for replies!

What about going back to 8.0 through TRWP? Impossible?
I've found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/help/s8-downgrade-version-9-t3922577 and I've downloaded G955USQU5CSA4_G955UOYN5CSA4_CCT.zip
G955USQS5CRL1_G955UOYN5CRL1_USC.zip
G955USQU5CSA4_G955UOYN5CSA4_LRA.zip
G955USQU5CRK1_G955UOYN5CRK1_TMB.zip , however when I try to install s8+ firmware through Odin it keeps showing FAIL. Damn.. No other way to go back to 8.0 than new phone?

I've found Lineage 15.1 OS with bootloader v5 on android 8.0 however I am struggling now with installing TWRP. Keep getting FAIL in ODIN and note in phone: Only official relased binaries are allowed to be flashed (RECOVERY). I've tried to reset cache, perform factory data, OEM is enabled and usb debugging as well. I don't know what's going on to be honest and after reviewing thousands of posts - I can't fix that issue.. My current software on my g950fd is G950FXXU5DSFB Android 9.0.
Is here anyone who can advice me what should I do? I would really appreciate that. Thanks!
Anyone?
Sorry can't help you with that much, it seems u did all correct steps for rooting the phone. dunno why u get only official binary message.
Edit:
Post your issue here, maybe someone here can help you more
