Hi, My Samsung Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) is stuck at boot loop and I'm unable to find it's IMEI. The sticker on it's back is fake I have searched that IMEI and it belongs to some Galaxy Grand Prime model that's why I need your help guys please suggest me how can I get the IMEI of my phone?
I want to flash it with stock ROM and after trying all other methods finally used Kies to flash it with stock ROM but still stuck at it as I can't find my phone's IMEI
NOTE:
- I don't have the box to find it out.
- I have looked at the sim card tray, no luck with that.
- I can turn it on to find it out from the settings as it's stuck at boot loop

So why you wanna IMEI??
If you wanna flash stock rom then download it for j500f
And if you got bootloop so go to stock recovery and select wipe cache partition and wipe data/factory reset

Because through IMEI I'll get the Serial Number of my device and by using the serial number I'll flash it with stock ROM through Kies. Kies require the model number and IMEI number of the device.

The IMEI is fake and when I try to download the stock ROM it gives so many options for the ROM I've downloaded some 3-4 different ROMs but went unsuccessful.
for stock recovery, I can't access any mode except the download mode on my phone.?

Sorry but i really don't know
You don't need kies for flashing rom you only need your phone model(j500f) and odin
Please see some videos about it or tell me what did you do exactly and what you want to do

Do u have CUSTOM Recovery installed? Ur phone is unbranded? Are u downloading the correct firmware for ur phone? Are u flashing it good with Odin? Ur S4 is a i9500 or i9505/6/7/8? Give us + info pls
yes just give us a few details.
did you also a full wipe done before you flashed the rom ?
this is very important because otherwise you do not have a clean system and so it is normal that the phone will not boot and you stay stuck in bootloop
AFAIK (never tested) Google Edition uses different bootloader, so you shall flash complete set, including that part as well...
All is working i don't wipe data and cache with cwm , when i wipe all he turned on thanks for help

If you don't know what you are doing my advice would be to
go to http://SamMobile.com and download the official kitkat
4.4.2 SM-900 firmware and flash it using Odin.
Be sure to do a full wipe including system, data, cache, dalvik
and last but not least a factory reset in twrp or cwm recovery
before you start the odin flash.
You will need to re-root your phone afterwards and install twrp
or cwm recovery. This is the surest way to resolve your network
and other issues.
This will give you a fresh clean start.
This will solve it.
Do you have twrp or cwm backup.
if not reflash VN rom 14.1 and you should get it back. secondly you can flash the modem attached.
1. wipe the device including internal memory in the twrp memory. put the phone in download mode. flash the modem via cwm rcovery
2. go back to recovery do just a factory reset.
3 now get any 4.4.2 stock rom for your region from sammobile and flash it using odin.
when the phone is rebooting and you see the Samsung logo pull the battery. put the battery back, go back to recovery do a factory reset. then let the boot complete.
it should be fine.
if it help don't forget to press thanks

sorry didn't understand you I was answering the op.
if you flashed vn rom earlier you should just do it again. just make sure you do a factory reset , and dalvik wipe.
If you need further help just look in the vn-rom thread for flashing procedure. anyway

no no no just worked by itself downloading some files from the internet ihave not any backup on my phone or ext.memory
I am currently new to all this stuff so i dont have an exact idea what i was doing
First of all i rooted my Device I9500 Which had 5.0.1 Android
then i installed TWRP Recovery and then i was not able to backup any stuff to External SD Card so i installed some Boot.img which i exactly dont remember which i installed from watching any youtube video then later some problem occured It showed some error like "firmware upgrade encountered an issue" then i flashed Philz touch recovery which then worked and i was able to backup my data but i was not able to Boot into my Original ROM or couldnt see an option for that. Then i downloaded The Ozcan V6.3 ROM and tried installing it it succesfully installed but after that its not able to boot uo and stuck at SAMSUNG Logo Screen.
Please Help me What to DO !!!.
Thanks In Advance
If your device can still get into download mode, download the stock Android 5.x image for your device and flash it using Odin. That will get you back to square one so you can start over with rooting and installing the custom ROM.
I had the same problem on my gs4. It would only go to galaxy logo so I flashed the lollipop firmware via odin and all is well.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
Just have to flash the default one with Odin ?
i also backed up my old data with philz to my sd card that also and i also downloaded a new Default 5.0.1 ROM ?
Which one should i flash ?
and whats the critera for finding ROMs leaving the model number ? (noob question)
Is the S4 unlocked? If not, what country are you in and what carrier do you have?
My Country is India and its the International Version I9500 and i am not pretty sure that it was unlocked or not .but it was rooted and recovery was installed
Added later :
I just installed recovery back and then tried to install ROM the ROM was also stuck on the Boot Loop I think my boot loader isnt unlocked and ima stuck there because of that
I9500 isnt bootloader locked. And u must be flashing the boot.img on other partition that not in the odin package. So u must search how to repartition ur device. But. U MUST VERY CAREFULL WITH REPARTITION OPTION! U MIGHT BRICK UR DEVICE IF U DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT U DOING!. And if u wanna flash recovery and boot.img or bootloader thing. U must ONLY flash for I9500 version!. And if u successfully repartition ur device. U will lose all internal storage too. Ok good luck

You would know if you were carrier unlocked as you'd be able to put a SIM from a different carrier into the S4 and have the device work. To get you the correct ROM we still need to know your carrier.
secure download : enabled
Hi my galaxy s4 gt i9500 is stuck in a bootloop. When is boot I get "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"... when I boot into download mode I see "secure download : enabled" which wasn't usually there. Am trying to flash the pit file with twrp but Odin is failing.... is it because of the secure download enabled?? Please help me
You can't flash the PIT file with TWRP.
Do you have Odin? Do you have a copy of your stock ROM, downloaded either from Sammobile or samsung updates? If not, you'll need to get them. You then flash the firmware through Odin WITHOUT the PIT file. This should restore your device to operating condition. Afterward, you will of course need to root the S4 and flash a copy of TWRP to be able to install a custom ROM.
Carrier is Airtel

Look for instructions regarding soft brick, you'll just have to reflash via odin.

CM13 uses Lollipop bootloader and you are trying to restore a 6.0.1 rom which is using Marshmallow bootloader, thats why you are getting green samsung logo.
You have to flash stock rom 6.0.1 to be able to restore that 6.0.1 backup.
