[Q] HTC has now delayed release of the HTC Desire Z until the end of October.

Thats what I got when asked for update on my pre-order. Is this true for all resellers? :-(
UPDATE at 10:25 on 03.11.2010: Clove website now says "First stock arriving today!"
UPDATE: at 12:00 on 04.11.2010: Clove just shipped my Desire Z! All gig stores in UK are shipping orders.

I've been told October 11 as the stock date for UK by an ebay reseller.
He better not be lying.

expansys also still names 11. October

The Release date is confirmed to be the 6th of this month and should be dispatched same day if not the definitely the 7th.

maybe it has something to do with loose hinges or missing storage reports for G2? I mean, I'd rather wait than get broken device in a rush.. but at the same time I want it NOW

that's because of the QWERTZ keyboard I think, for QWERTY it is still due 13 Oct (Expansys.co.uk)

My retailer still states the 8th Oct, however i dunno if thats an estimate or not. Not particularly desperate really since i have already placed my order so should be towards the front of the queue when they get them

I've ordered it through expansys in Italy and it's reporting October 11.

Amazon site says 1st Nov, but in my account it says estimated delivery 12th Oct... hmmm I also hope it is because they have sold out their first batch rather than just a rubbish ordering system (you'd hope not with amazon!).

Well, I spoke to Handtec earlier, and they said they're waiting to hear from HTC today, and will update the website accordingly... To me, it sounded like they knew it would be delayed, but were just waiting a bit longer to update their website...

Spoke to play this morning. She said the delay is confirmed but they don't know whether its a simple straight up delay or a manufacturing issue. Im starting to wonder if It's something to do with the z hinge complaints people are having.

Expansys change release date to Oct 18

Is this one of those things where a retailer's HTC Partner Status means something? The retailer I have my preorder with is an "Ultimate Partner", and they haven't announced any delay yet.

As far as I was aware, Clove are a HTC Ultimate Partner, and they were amongst the first to say there was a delay... So, I think it's possibly just a case of there is truth in the rumour
Can't understand why not all retailers have changed their dates though...

I have ordered the Asus Transformer on 13/4, and really looking forward to receive it on 21st as i have booked a slot on that day..
however the Comet rang me just before telling me that the transformer will be delayed AGAIN and won't get mine before 9th May! i was quite shocked and kinda disappointed with that (though i understood the supplies...) as i have pre-ordered it for so long and they told me there were stock available for me at the beginning.
Now i am holding a Xoom, but i will have to return it in 21 days if I have made up my mind on picking one of them, arghhh asus really fuc*ed me up

I rang them this morning to change my delivery address, and they told me it won't change the delivery time. After a few minutes they rang me back and told me about this piece of news. FML
just went on their website, now the earliest delivery time would be 3rd of May....i am thinking of ringing them again and know about this

I suggest you email asus with your order so you are on file for the keyboard offer,I did it yesterday and they said once on file the offer was available to me even if the tablet arrives past the offer date

yeah i do think about this once i heard the news..
would definitely send them an email before the deadline

I've just spoken with Comet after the dreaded answer phone message. I was due for delivery this Thursday and I have been bumped to the 9th May. They informed me that all 695 pre orders are going to be moved back and that no one will recieve one before this date. Sorry all!
Asus have failed to supply the number of Transformers that were expecting.
They also have no idea of when the keyboard will be coming into stock.

try carphonewarehouse, thats where i got mine last week, they had the one with the keyboard dock ready to ship out too, as one of the rep tells me on the phone while i was ordering the tablet from him.

I got left a message too saying that delivery had been delayed from 21st till 9th of may, emailed asus so hopefully still get the keyboard offer and also emailed comet requesting refund of delivery fee and inquiring how definite the new date is (probably won't believe any reply though).

it's free to deliver on 9th according to their website...but i doubt they would refund me than 5 quid though..

There's 2 for sale on gumtree (at least there was) might get it a bit quicker

They did that to me to. I phoned them and they have rescheduled the delivery to 3rd of May.

I had one on preorder from amazon from the 4th of April. They then bumped delviery to the 1st of June. The moment I got the email about the amazon delay I checked comet which said they had them in stock.
So I placed an order with Comet around the 12th of April. They took my money straight away and scheduled delivery for the 21st.
Had a phone call yesterday telling me they can no longer deliver on this date. Now I am sorry but to take my money and hold onto it for a week is disgusting if they dont have physical stock. my order was not a pre-order but a sale. I asked for an immediate refund and told them of their shocking behaviour.
I have always hated bying anything from DSG or comet stores and this just proves why. never again!!!
Good job I kept my pre-oder with amazon I am happy to wait until June now.
Comet sucks ass!!!

Yes All orders through clove for the phone received the email. I think they are actually giving a realistic time frame for their dispatch.
If the stock arrives late 3rd May they are making sure they are out by the 4th. Handtec have stated stock arriving the 3rd and sending the same day.
I believe Clove are just covering their bases and making sure they don't promise something they wont deliver on.

but wait, didnt handtec say they would send theirs out yesterday, or today?
and clove origionally said they would send theirs out on the 2nd.. so did something change? or did they always plan to send it out later? do you think theyll send out on the 2nd or this new date?

clove had said 3rd may initially ... or atleast when i pre ordered i think 2 weeks ago. now they say 4-6th. handtec originally said theyll get by 28 and ship by 29th BUT suddenly just changed all that on their website. didn't notify anyone either so after that I just decided to stick to clove cause they're always updating. anytime they get new info on the phone they would send an email asking if i want to still buy the phone or cancel. For example with the NFC not being included and such. they cost about 15 pounds more but have better service. that's how it usually is... smaller companies (clove) have better service cause each customer matters much more while larger companies (handtec) arent that good on service cause they dont care all too much if they lose 1 customer.

I also got that email today in the afternoon.

i hope handtec will finally ship on tuesday........

I take it you haven't received the media link yet? which means that will arrive on Friday without the phone.
What they just told me.
I've placed an order with Phone4U, because Amazon don't charge until the phone is sent out, so if the Phones4U arrives on friday as they have promised then I can cancel the Amazon order.

Mine still does too, but the rep said that's the date the Link is going to be sent. THey're checking for definite with the main warehouse but I'm pretty sure all of the Amazon orders will be delayed. along with every seller in the UK. I've placed an order with P4U out of hope really.

I doubt this is Amazon's fault but surely HTC would have known of this delay long ago? So why only tell people two days before release?

Also inquired here whether any stock has been assigned, really quite a disappointing outcome really. Will update if I get an informative reply.

No delivery as of yet. No shipment dispatch notification. Credit card had a pending charge for the amount last Friday, today I see no charge whatsoever. No idea what's going on. The website claims it's in stock but their claimed delivery time is 6-8 days to the UK. I'm nearing the end of that timeframe.
Have opened a ticket with them but from what I've read their support isn't particularly good. Another user from HUKD forums has also ordered around same time as me (black colour) but hasn't received. Others who've ordered after him have received theirs.. strange

I believe eglobal ship goods to a European depot where they are relabelled/addressed and dispatched to customers inside Europe. It's how they can offer lower prices and avoid VAT/Import Duty. It's possible your item has been despatched from the East to their EU hub, but you will only receive shipping confirmation once it reaches the hub and has been despatched from there.

Yeah I'm aware of that...but if that was the case my card would have been charged. It had a pending charge last Friday which is nowhere to be seen now.. I reckon the orders been cancelled.

The new colors are initially for LG G6+. However, in Taiwan they are launched as new colors for normal G6 (no spec upgrade). You can see them on LG Taiwan site.
