Downgrade and change firmware region - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

Hi you all
I've just bought this phone, less then a month ago and it was just perfect with software and battery on android 9. As many of you will already know, after updating it to the latest android 10 version, phone started to give a lot of problems such as battery drain, partially fixed by factory reset, but the main problem is that today started to lag in every single animation while opening apps, returning home, or just scrolling: it is just unusable, i've tried so many times to reboot and nothing works, i just don't want to make another factory reset, i want to fix it once and for all. So i've decided to downgrade it but i've found out that i'm on QFJRUXM which is a russian firmware, even if i'm italian and bought it from italian amazon.
My question is: can i downgrade it to a stable android 9 Global version, so in one flash i'll downgrade and change firmware region? If i have to use MiFlash is there a guide step by step since i'm not very savant with this stuff? I've heard that there's some kind of antiroll back system and if that's true how to check if everything's good? Do you recommend to return the phone to Amazon?
EDIT: I've found out that my current antirollback version is 1 and the fastboot firmware (android 9 EEU) that i downloaded is 0. Does that mean that i can't downgrade with MiFlash?

Jiayu S3 PIN Locked by Kinguser app

First of all, I may be posting this in the wrong section. But I desperately need your help on this.
I got a Jiayu S3, and couldn't not try to flash a custom rom on it, so I tried with "Pure AOSP V1 TF".
All went well, untill i found this app which was included with the rom, "Kinguser" (should be Superuser, i believe), which game me the option to toggle root.
At first and only time I opened this Kinguser app, option root was active. I did deactivate it, and reactivated immediately after.
As soon as i reactivated root, the privacy pin screen showed up.
I didn't set any PIN on my phone, so at first i thought it could be something like 1111 or 0000. Tried 5 times and it made me wait 30 seconds. Then tried another 3-4 times.
Here began the real mess: "forgot pin" (or psw) didn't show up, but at the time i didn't even know about that recovery option.
I didn't know what to do, so I just thought that a factory reset would certainly solve the problem, how couldn't it? Well, wiped everything, but PIN lock screen didn't go away.
So, wiping everything, I also deleted my gmail account from the phone, and I lost the possibility to lock phone and give it a new password (Android Device Manager). Too bad at the time I didn't know about this recovery option as well...
Now I'm out of ideas. I think I've tried every method I could find with a search of "Smartphone PIN locked". Tried with resets, plugins, deleting files with adb..
How do I unlock my phone?
little update: after a factory reset, for 2-3 seconds, it shows the default initial screen, but it doesn't last more that and i just can't do anything.
Now i managed to bring back the stock rom, but with that i lost the twrp recovery, and i can't find a way to make pc recognize the phone to reflash it.
It seems it's going worse instead of better...
I had just bought this Jiayu S3 and planned to bring it on holidays on wednesday, but i'm starting to think i won't be able to fix it before then
Did you have any resolution to this problem. I am currently sitting in the exact same boat. Did the factory reset, pass code screen still there, I didn't set a pass code. Basically hands tied, can't update firmware, guessing i'll have to get a new phone, but hoping maybe you found a miracle cure! ha! - Thanks for any guidance. - Arden (Seattle, WA)
Just flash another rom (stock/original) and start over.
How have you done that?
Can you help please?
I tried factory reset (volume plus+ power button), hard reset (volume- plus power button), update, and nothing works; I also went to two different specialized stores and they failed to find a way to reinstall the original Android version or a recent one.
Comparing the files with the factory version installed in the phone, the phone report identified three changes:
- a new file: /system/priv-app/7mK0T6e8Z5.apk
- the lost of a file: /system/app/com.android.fallen.apk
- and a modified file: /system/bin/debuggerd

To flash firmware you can use SP Flash Tool on a windows or linux computer (not sure about macosx). You have to decide which firmware you want (which one do you have now?). The 'official' firmwares can be found on needrom. SP Flash Tool can be found there as well. There are 2 popular LP firmwares built by Jiayu resellers in Europe (Xtreme from Spain and Jiayu.de from Germany). Guides on how to flash are often present at the place where you find the firmware.

Thank you!
I found "Xtreme from Spain":
needrom.com/download/rom-xtreme-rom-tf/
I found the "SP Flash Tool":
needrom.com/download/sp-flash-tool-v5-1424-00/
but it is for Linux... can you send me the link of the windows version?
And I could not found the "Jiayu.de from Germany": can you send the link?
Also, can you recommend some good manual for dummies?
Thanks again for your patient and help!
latest sp flash tools is 5.1532
search needrom with "5.1532" will leed you to the download page
no link allowed here, so ...
for beta 10 from jiyau.de, search google with "jiyau.de Lollipop 5.1.1 - Beta 10 (14.10.2015)".
it will leeds you to the rom.
Good hunting

I would like to add: if you come from KK and go to LP, you must use firmware upgrade to update/adjust internal SD partition layout. Good Luck! if you succeed, and are happy with firmware, consider voting @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/firmware-jiayu-s3-t3212184 (almost 100 votes)
First, thank you for your great help!
With your suggestions, I managed to install Lolipop in my Jiayu S3S (upgraded from Kit Kat) - Xtreme ROM TF (JiayuS3-5.1Extreme1.1SP.zip).
However the problem remain... the phone still is asking for a PIN (that I never had put there, in first place)...
What should I do now?
you could try factory reset and are you sure its the phone asking for pin and not the sim card

sm-n910g Singapore(singtel) android 6.0.1 upgrading issue

Hi, I just upgraded my note 4 which I bought from Singapore (singtel) to android 6.0.1 recently using OTA.
But just after the update, I got a bunch of issues coming out of it.
First, issue on getting the phone on from screen off state, I mean from standby mode, every time I want to unlock the phone from this state, it hangs for at least 10 seconds, after a few test, I found out that it's the fingerprints unlocking causing the problem, so I change it to pattern unlocking, which solved the problem by 80%, it still having hang issue with the unlocking, but less, not like when using fingerprint unlocking.
Next, most of the apps from before upgrade we're using fine, but after upgrade, those apps seems to take awhile to start up, some time more ten 20 seconds.
I search the forum about this 6.0.1 issue, most of them say that a factory reset should do the trick, which I yet to do it after the upgrade.
Actually after these few days of disappointment with 6.0.1, I'm planning on downgrading to 5.1.1.
Therefore, I need a bit advise here:
Should I do a factory reset first or just direct downgrade to 5.1.1?
If downgrade, the steps are:
1. Root the note 4
2. Install custom recovery
3. Install downgrade version of stock rom
Is it? Or did I miss something here?
Thanks a lot for helping out.

unbricking hard brick - moto x style

hey guys
i just brick my phone (no idea how, flashed android 7 firmware) after flash my phone was working for like 2 hours, then i let himself update a security options. After update my phone went brick
As far i found :
- installed Qualcoom QDLOADER 9008 driver
- found QFIL programmer
i need to have programmer path (something related to JTAG) and build xmp path
Where i can find them? Or is it a other way to resscue my phone?
I feel your pain. My timeline:
- The phone was unlocked but still in Stock Nougat (7.0?). Got that from OTA in Brazil.
- I tried to update to LineageOS 7 via TWRP. After a full wipe (everything, system, data, card, cache etc) I installed the new ROM. Turned on, bootlooped forever.
- Searching around I found out that there was no modem in the Nougat roms and for some reason I needed to flash a Marshmallow modem for my region to make that work (I think there is no Nougat modems around or something).
- I found a LA_DS modem for 6.0, flashed that using TWRP, still bootloop. Tried other roms using TWRP, still bootloop.
- I then downloaded a full stock old 6.0 firmware to go back to stock but the phone wouldn't accept some files ("preflash validation failed").
- Searched around and found out that you can't downgrade a bootloader from Moto.
- Using fastboot, I flashed the files the phone was willing to accept and it finally booted the 6.0 Marshmallow stock rom, but with no networking (radio/modem/baseband/IMEI missing).
- Flashed the 6.0 modem for my region again and everything worked. Connected on WiFi, dual sim cards detected etc.
- I started to install every update the phone showed to try to update it back to latest MM version.
- The three first updates went ok, the fourth turned off the phone to never turn on again.
Looks like there is no way out of this. My phone is pretty old and MotoCare in Brazil will charge a lung and a half for repair.

Pretty similar situation on my part. I downgraded back to 6.0 and when it tried to take the December update I ended up with the same thing as you. I ended up getting a replacement from Moto for under 100 dollars which was worth it rather than trying to find a solution that doesn't exist.

Weird software mix nougat/oreo

Hi there. The strangest thing happened to me today.
Didn't have the patience to wait an oreo update on my galaxy s8 and downloaded it (official firmware not beta version), installed it using odin and ran the software for a week without any issues. I admit the firmware was ment foe germany, not for my country but i know that it doesn't matter as long as the firmware is an official one. Today in the morning got a notification that phine memory is almost full and notices that my oreo saw only 16gb of memory instead of 64. Did a quick factory reset and from this point on my pfone went crazym enterd into a nasty bootloop, couldn't do a thing with my phone. Tried erase/restore factory setting /erase cache partition, the same result. Ok, downloaded nougat, installed it, phone seems ok with one exception. My nougat looks kinda oreo! Some icons in the phones settings look like oreo icons, bixby under oreo does not have a disable key option under nogat there is a disable key - i don't have that though i use nougat, some icons in the settinga menu are doubled and so many other weird things. If i check software version it states 7.0. Ok, later in the afternoon saw that there was released oreo for my country, checked software update...says that it is up to date. My friends's phone is identical to mine, he got the oreo update, i didn't. Any idee what is going on? How in the world can i have nougat on my phone with oreo icons after a fresh nougat install? I know it sound weird but i have had several samsung phones and have played around with official firmwares but never saw such a great mess my phone is in. Or maybe i am missing something. Thanks alot for your time. Cheers.

Flash it again with the current release for your region using ODIN with CSC that will wipe your phone also.
Should fix it.

Hi,
Found out what was the problem. Each and every time when i was using odin to flash my phone, used only the AP file. Saw somwhere that someone added in odin the AP, BL, CP, CSC files too. Sammobile says that ony the AP file should be used (no doubt) but didn't work in my case.
So, added all 4 files in odin and could sucessfully flash nougat, then update to oreo. Got curios if i flashed oreo only, would my phone lose it's mind and flashed it BUT added in odin all the 4 files and worked like a charm.
Thanks alot for your time.
Cheers.

Need help unbricking a Zenfone 3 ZE552KL. Is there a full system image that I can flash?

So a few months ago i tried unlocking and rooting my old zenfone 3, it failed horribly and now I'm left with a bricked device. Because its been a while I don't fully remember all the details, but I think I might have corrupted some part of the system and then did a full wipe/format which left me with nothing, at this point i might have found a system image with the very first firmware version and when i tried installing the latest firmware update from the Asus website, I realized that I would need to start flashing from the very first update to the final update. I tried looking for custom firmwares and they also needed an up to date original firmware.
And now i need to use the phone again but still can't figure it out, the phone is now just stuck on a bootloop. I don't really know what to do anymore. One thing I keep thinking is if there is a full system image of the up to date stock firmware, an image file that i could just flash onto the phone and have it running again. Though I haven't seen anything like that, so I don't think that exists or will work with this phone
Can someone please help me? this phone has been a brick for months and now I need some help recovering it
TL;DR Wiped the entire phone, lost the android system, and now I don't think I can use the phone unless I manually update the phone from the very first update to the last. I'm looking for if a full stock system image/backup with the latest (or atleast new-ish) version exists, though I'm very doubtful that this exists at this point
