Hello
Do you face the same issue like me ?
Oxygen OS 10.5.2.IN11BA (Model IN2023)
The phone seems to stop using the network (WIFI and cellular data) for few seconds/minutes.
This happen on internet with all app, so I get blank screen on app, timeout messages and even locally using my NAS (so not using internet) with same timeout.
My OLD OnePlus 7 Pro do not face this issue on same network (WIFI and celullar)
Same device and version, do not get the same issues. No problems with both wifi and 4g connectivity at all.
Seems that the Wifi 5G is the source issue. This is very annoying
I didn't specify, but it was 5Ghz wifi in my case as well, no problems.

Hi guys, not sure if its been brought up before, but my nexus one frequently disconnects from my home wifi, I don't know the exact intervals but once in a while when I check my phone, it'd be disconnected and when i look at the wifi settings, it would say connection unsuccessful and i would have to manually reconnect it. Seems like a major hassle to me, shouldn't be my router either as my laptops and other devices have no such problem.
Some facts:
Router DIR-625 (set on G and N)
Interestingly, my router reports my nexus one on 802.11 N band.. which is curious, I thought it wasn't enabled yet?
The signal strength is about 4 - 5 bars (only seperated by one wall)
Whenever I click on reconnect it reconnects without any problems
Anyone have any idea what might be the problem here?
change your WiFi sleep policy to never sleep. and also the nexus has a WiFi bug. check that setting first though, cause its on by default which I don't know why.

............
I remember having issues with my connection..I upgraded the router software, e voila...
I had similar problems with a DIR-655. I turned off MAC address filtering and updated the firmware (I was 3 years and about 6 iterations behind) and I haven't had anymore problems.
Edit: BTW, The N1 had flawless connectivity on all my other Wi-Fi routers (work, friend's house, etc) which happened to be Linksys
Hi ALL,
I noticed that my My Galaxy S7 Edge's Wifi constantly keeps turning off and on for some reason! does anyone else experience this on their phone?
Thank you.
Is their any known wifi issues on Galaxy S6 Edge (international variant)?
Can anyone help.
Could you be more specific? Do you have WiFi turned on while your screen is off? Maybe post your advanced WiFi settings so we can see if there is anything off

The following things have generally helped:
- Set DIFFERENT SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz bands. I have found that most devices and routers do a terrible job dynamically switching between the networks if each as the same SSID - I think the chipset recognizes the SSID and constantly jumps from one band to the other depending on which had the strongest signal.
- Disable the bluetooth and wifi SCANNING feature (not bluetooth itself as one of the prior posters cited). This setting is found in "locations" and allows your phone to scan for recognized wifi and bluetooth networks even when wifi or bluetooth is turned off to pinpoint its location. Given that bluetooth only has about a 50 ft range, its puzzling why the bluetooth scanning is even an option
- Set the channel width in the router to 20 MHz or 40MHz. Some products can't recognize the 80MHz channel widths (my old S5 couldn't recognize my travel router if I had it set to 80MHz. Note that this may slow down your connection.
- Disable Smart Network Switch (in Wifi Advanced settings) or other similar setting that dynamically switches between Wifi and mobile data depending on network access
- Get 802.11ac-capable router. This may be less of an issue now, but for a couple years after the ac standard came out, a lot of ac clients would have issues with legacy non-ac routers. Obviously not ideal.
I don't have problem with my S6 Edge connecting to my home wifi.
I tried to disable some setting as Joku suggested and it minimized the wifi connection drops. I noticed that my S7E connected most on my 2.4GHz

same problem with my S7 Edge
Having this problem only with certain routers (other phone models stay connected just fine). The router only has 2.4 GHz, and bluetooth is off, scanning is off, smart switch is off.
Router is a Verizon FIOS Router Actiontec MI424WR-GEN3I.
US T-Mobile GS7e, on latest firmware.
So I finally figured this out - pre the latest update 5 ghz wifi on the Oneplus 6t worked flawlessly. Then the latest update came down (ironically over 5 ghx wifi) applied and rebooted and poof 5 ghz wifi no longer works. It connects, it gets ip, it can see the router everything looks normal but if i try to go anywhere on the internet - it tells me i am off line . 2.4 ghz wifi works just fine but the 5 ghz is broke. It took me a while to find this because I would auto switch to wifi at work and at home and didn't realize what was going on. Playstore would not download, app updates never came trhough. If I turned wifi off it all worked but then I am eating my data plan. Just an FYI to anyone having odd issues suddenly.
Weird. Mine still works fine on 5 GHz after 9.0.11 update (8/256 OP direct, totally stock unrooted).

On 5ghz as well. I've had no issues at all after any of the updates. On 9.0.11, unlocked/rooted.
No issues with mine on 9.0.11.
I have they same problem!
I have the same issue.

Turned off mobile, still able to browse on wifi 5ghz.
Turned off mobile and wifi. Reconnected to wifi 5ghz. Still able to browse.
Turned on Airplane Mode. Reconnected to wifi 5ghz. Still able to browse.
Sorry. Can't reproduce issue.
For those that it works on 5 ghz - what band is your 5ghz on - if you check your wifi under network details see if it says 5 ghz or defaulting 2.4? (some people have combined wifi that will place you on what ever network is fastest) - also if you could show post your link speed (show on the Oneplus 6t under network details for wifi
Actually - I did a quick test and I could be incorrect. I set up a guest network with 5 ghz no password and got on it just fine and can pull 400 Mbs. My network password is complex so that might be what is causing the issues . I am going to experiment with a shorter password to see if that fixes it - but that would be a shame if that is the fix as it worked just fine before.

On tmobile, unlocked, flashed through twrp, no issue 5ghz as far as i can tell.
So I experimented more. Here are the results. No matter what I did to my internal wifi I could not get a connection on 5 Ghz. No issues on 2.4 with a long pw, a short pw- aes or tkip wpa or wpa2. But cannot, will not go anywhere on 5 ghz. Here is the odd thing. I can set up guest wifi on my router so I did. I set it up with no pw and boom, 2.4 g, 5 ghz1 and 5ghz2 - all of it. Then I turned on wpa/wpa2 and encryption (auto/aes/tkip) and set a password...and boom. Still working?? Exact same set up internal Wifi - nothing same issues. It's Bizarre. I turned off all the fancy settings for internal wifi like link sharing, fastest connection - I separeated them out to 2.4g/5G1/5g2 just like my guest and ...nothing. I can connect all day long but it just cannot get to anything on the internet. So for now I guess I am stuck using my guest network.
To the others who said they have the issue - what brand of router? - Mine is the TP-LINK AC5400
working fine here, verified that 5ghz is connected in settings

In my network details it says frequency 5 GHZ and my Link speed is 866 Mbps.

This sounds like it's a DCHP server issue with your router.

can't be - dhcp is band agnostic and it works - I get an ip address on 2.4 and 5 ghz just cannot get anywhere on 5ghz when using my home internal router set up - plus when I set up guest network on the same router I am just fine. And it worked just fine before the latest Oxygen update (that and I have about 18 devices on wifi all working just fine - including my oneplus 6 running the same Oxygen update - ) Has to be a bug of some kind.
Same problem here, oneplus 6T and Oxygen 9.0.11. I have this bug since update from 9.0.10 to 9.0.11.
I'm not on TMobile (see on reddit about oneplus_6t_update_breaks_google_play_certification), i'm in Italy with TIM operator.
I have problems with Fastweb Fastgate Router (Askey RTV1907VW), wifi 5ghz is connected but i can't browse, i can't do a speedtest from App on OnePlus 6T, etc.
But now in my office, i have a Vodafone 5GHz router, and i don't have any issue!
Could be a problem of the "channel" for 5Ghz wifi connection?
My wifi randomly reconnects quite often. Only on my home wifi which is mixed 2.4G/5G. Another wifi source is 2.4G only and don't seem to see the issue on that network. I checked my home wifi and don't see an option to disable 5G. Anyone know of any suggestions? I'm running MIUI 10.3.6 Global. It's the one thing I'm not happy with on this new phone.
First thing to do is to update to the latest global rom 10.3.8.0, also try to change the WiFi channel from router

Not really. But I fixed it like others said by disabling 5G. Or I could have also fixed it but using different ssid for 2.4 and 5g to not have it jump back and forth between the 2.
Also not sure why but my phone says up to date. I'm in Canada and current version is 10.3.6.
So I may have come across something that may help someone else out as well...
Recently (as in less than 15 days) purchased a oneplus 8 pro from oneplus.com. When I first got it it was on android 10 and I was not able to connect to either my 2.4ghz wifi or my 5ghz wifi using WPA2. I had a oneplus 7 pro previously that still connects without issue. I had read elsewhere that the open beta was better so I tried that and it indeed was better but sometimes though I was connected to the wifi, no traffic would travel over the network and it would stall to the point that the only way I could do anything internet or network related was to go to my cellular data. I did the 'device mac' as opposed to random mac and that helped for a brief time however that even cause the same stall/lack of response issues.
Since I don't have much for 5g cellular where I am, I changed it to only look for 4g....still no improvement. On a whim, I disabled any and all security on my 5ghz wifi and low and behold I could connect. I wasn't about to leave either of my wifi networks wide open but also remembered the network I connect at work is also not wpa or any sort of protection so theres a hint as to how to 'fix' these issues. I then read someone about the possibility of having special characters in your wifi password can cause issues. I removed the ! in my old wifi password so it is now alpha numeric and have had no issues with my 5ghz wifi network. I have been able to stay connected with my 5ghz wifi WHILE bluetooth has also been abled and the speeds are roughly normal.
Try at your own risk but in summary:
1. upgrade to the open beta 2
2. disable 5g cellular connections
3. connect to your 5g wifi and make sure the password has no special characters in it as well as use device mac NOT randomized mac
4. perhaps success
With all the above being said, I do still intend on sending this phone back in hopes that I got a dud unit but I'll admit seeing these results makes me feel like its more of a software issue and certain incompatibilities with certain routers.
Just dropping what info I have discovered in hopes it helps someone out there...I would not normally endorse using NO password on wifi or a weak password, but for this phone it may be a requirement at least until the updates can come into play.
Thanks,
E|
I am backing everything up to go to Android 11 tonight, and I switched to a new WPA2/WPA3 router here, but my password has no special characters.
On Android 10, complete nogo, as using WiFi calling with a BT headset on 5ghz slows the network down so much, the other person can't hear you (no upload bandwidth).
I'll let you know how Android 11, OB2 works out for me.
If there are issues, I am going back to the OnePlus 7 Pro and selling the OP8 Pro.
Since I have not been using WiFi, I blew through 55Gb of data this month already so am subject to throttling, thanks OP8 Pro

You could try om a different router of someone else to pin point out if it's your router yes or no.

I did upgrade to OB2 a few days ago and wifi is generally better. But VOWiFi never works with a bluetooth headset - the other person can never hear me.
Also when streaming over WiFi the connection drops or stalls and causes rebuffering. I have confirmed these behaviors with 3 different routers.
Can anyone on TMobile (USA) confirm working VOWiFi while using a bluetooth headset?
Also 4G and 5G speeds slow down when on a call using bluetooth.
Maybe this is all due to qualcomm 865 chipset issues as the galaxy S20 users are having similar issues?
I had faced lots of stability and speed issues on the 5gz band. Received the OS11 update today and my issues seem to be resolved. So far the 5gz connection has been very stable, lightening fast speeds.
