Hi
Just wondering if anybody knows how to switch between the front and rear facing camera during a video without stopping recording?
It seems like a pretty basic function that is missing if it cannot be done. I can only seem to switch cameras before I hit record, then the option disappears.
TIA
Nick

I have been searching for a video RECORDING apps that will enable me to switch between the front-facing and the rear-facing cameras in mid-recording (without stopping the recording).
Qik and the myTouch 4G default cameras allow you to switch, but only when not recording. The other camera then gets disabled, and if you want to switch, you have to stop recording. I don't really wanna stitch 2 videos together, although I guess this is the short term answer until an app is made or an existing one supports this.
I have searched a few forums and Google without any answers. Is this even possible (even with root) or is this just wishful thinking?
EDIT: I know this is possible with video chat, but I want this for video recording.
I've not really used my Z2 for video much.
I was at my kids nativity play and tried to do so, but the camera was constantly autofocussing and the footage is unwatchable.
Nobody else with different phones had this issue.
I tried setting it to manual and also played with different focussing modes and it was just the same.
Has anyone else had this issue, is it hardware or software. I have a feeling it may be connected to the facial recognition, but like I say it produced awful footage and part of the reason for buying this phone was the superior camera.
Trying to work out if it is faulty and should be returned.
Thanks

A question - is this a video recording problem only or its the same with photo focusing. And second - try recording a video wothout video stabilisation option enabled / stead shot - off. Metering - Multi / centre. or spot - tap the screen where you want to get a focus. If this does not help - reinstall the firmware - and if this doesn't work aswell give it to repair.
Thanks.
I have only really noticed it on video. There were a lot of kids and i suspect yhe facial focus stuff was getting confused, but i turned off most of the stuff you suggested and it still did it.
I am struggling to reproduce this issue, so whether hardware or software it does appear to be that scenario that sets it off. Will maybe go somewhere busy and try and play.
Have downloaded the basic google camera to see if that does the same.
Thanks
Stock camera of all version of FlymeOS, on video mode, it only autofocus once, at the beginning of video recording. Continuous AF is not working, the only way to focus is tap to focus. Is there any tweak or hack to enable continuous video AF using stock camera?
Other camera apps like Google Camera, continuous focus works like a charm on video mode so this problem is related to the stock camera I guess. there are several benefits of using the stock camera like 4k recording and slow-mo, but the lack of continuous AF in video recording is killing me.
Someone know how to solve this problem?
I guess it has something to do with 4k video recording, ince it doesnt work with other app, it must be a proprietary software issue. You can tap to focus, and in real life this actually works out better than continuous autofocus because you dont get that weird effect of the device focusing when you dont want it to. It would be nice to have the option to change it though. Meizu will never learn.
When recording a video using my rear camera, the sound does not come through clearly. It's as if the sound recording is focused on the front of the phone instead of the rear.
This is occurring on oreo beta 2, 3, lineage os 15.1. I've tried using the essential camera, google cam port (latest), open camera, lineage camera.
Before you ask, the microphones are clear of obstruction. There is no case on the phone. There are no microphone issues when using the phone during calls.
Anyone else experiencing this? It is making the video function on the phone all but useless to me.
Did you ever find an answer to this?
hey everybody !!!
i found that during video shooting i cant change the lens from regular to portrait ????
i never had video cam that had that
do i missed something?
While recording a video using one of the rear lenses, you can select between the rear lenses only, and cannot choose the front facing camera.
If you start the recording using the front facing camera, you can only record using that and none of the rear lenses are available to use.
I'm order to switch sides, you need to stop the recording and then change between the front or rear cameras.
