Recent apps

Anybody managed to push a recent apps switcher to the shield and have it functional? Or is there one I just can't access built in? Like... Leanback is cool and all but it makes for a terrible recent apps switcher. Also, anybody have a tasker profile to launch an app on double tap off home our like on f2 press of keyboard or something. I'm amazed I can't find anything about this.

i've used it to kill kodi when it's acting up, although i do recall autoinput not being functional

I was also wondering if there was a recent apps switcher.

I was a little annoyed when I couldn't find it. It's there though. I'm using LMT Pie Controls and Nova Launcher mostly but OmniSwitcher is working too if installed as priv-app. To find the recent app switcher you need to go to Shortcuts>Activities>SystemUI>Overview.recent.RecentsActivity You can set a button on the LMT launcher to access it because its a little pointless to have to return to homescreen in order to launch it, but yea it works pretty much the same as regular

pie only. Havnt tried it with gestures and isas. I imagine it might make navigation a little more cumbersome than it already is. I forgot, that to get that shortcut to show in LMT I needed to set the button to "trigger a shortcut" and then chose "Activities" with the Nova Icon next to it then following the path i wrote earlier. I imagine that there are other apps that you can use to launch activities (AnyCut maybe) if you dont wanna install another launcher. Anyways the recents switcher is part of SystemUI so there is probably more ways to get to it and like I said OmniSwitcher working too. Screenshots...

so i have a joyin ul135. i realised that in the settings there is no option to turn on a lockscreen. simply put, my personal accounts are associated with this device for spotify, amazon, netflix etc, and i dont want anybody to have access to this when i drop it in to the mechanic etc.
does anyone have a recommendation (app recommendation), that they personally use to lock the screen/device that they find works really well with their joying headunit?

I have tried Lock screen by Green Banana Studio and it works fine, sometimes it takes 5 sec for app to run after unit has booted up.

I find it easier just to freeze all those apps with Titanium backup and unfreeze later. Someone could unfreeze those but I doubt they'll go through the trouble.

Is there something more reliable. I used the AppLock - DoMobile and locked all apps before handing over to the garage.
But, when I received the car, I found that they have been watching the movies in my HU and the app was disabled.
Later, I found that, a simple press on the reset button or a battery disconnection will de-activate the app.
Any other suggestion will be appreciated.
I created a google account and switched to it in my HU after this.

Do you have an update? What did you end up doing to lock your head unit?

Iam looking for a solution too. I also foind the activity and I can launch it. I am also able to define a pin or pattern. Just the screen never locks.neither on turning off the screen nor on standby or reboot. Also I tried to use nova launcher but still I can't get the lock screen to show up even though I configured a lock pattern and the device tells me the pattern unlock is active.
I think my PX5 Android 6.0 ROM simply lacks the lock screen implementation itself. Also other screen locking apps do not work as the unit kills all apps on standby (imcluding other lock apps).
I would actually also like to add multiple users as this is supported in Android 6. But dragging down the status bar and tapping on the blue user icon does not launch any activity. I guess its simply not implemented.
As there is potentially an update with Android 8 upcoming soon I do not waste my time here. After the upgrade is released I will check agin. If the user management and lock is still missing we might check with custom rom developers how to fix/add this.

Workaround
I believe I've found a solution.
It involves using an app such as AppLock to lock all the required apps behind a PIN etc and then using an app such as Automateit to launch AppLock whenever the device boots.

I have an issue with my navi JY-TO122N4GS: i have tried to add a vpn, after that it says that i should set a screenlock, i've added pin 0000 and when i'm trying to add a vpn it asks for PIN but it does not work.

Headunit opens recent apps instead of launcher when i start the car, why?

Hi there, so, I have this annoying problem i've been trying to solve for few days now with no luck, hoping someone here got some ideas what could be wrong
the headunit is cheapo chinese seicane H521K model number 8227L_demo running android 8.1
everything stock except launcher, i have tried few launchers like car launcher free, nova launcher carwebguru etc and now fcc launcher(this one imma gonna keep, got the paid version and i like it), same problem with any launcher except the stock launcher that i dont like too much
so when i start the car, or turn key to 1 position and the unit wakes from sleep/hibernate/whatever state that thing is in, it shows me recent apps screen instead of launcher homescreen and i have no idea why
i have set fcc launcher as default from android settings and launcher settings
so far i have tried factory reset and install nothing but the launcher, tried reboot from factory settings menu, tried completely powering off by disconnecting battery and rebooting
disconnecting battery or rebooting from menu always boots to the launcher home screen as supposed to, the first time, but simply turning the car key to off/on greets me with recent apps screen instead of homescreen so i guess sleep/waking up from sleep is messing something up

any suggestions are welcome as i'm losing hope with this thing, been googling and trying different things for few days now with no luck

Pretty sure I just fitted the same HU in my car yesterday and I've noticed it doing this a couple times. Interested to see if this is a simple fix or something more in depth. I'm using AGAMA launcher btw.

I don't own one of those HU but on mine there's a toggle in the factory settings menu to restore previous state on restart. I have no idea how it would be worded on your unit or if it would even have it but it worth checking.

I had a similar issue. I noticed that it was happening once I connect to wifi. Thankfuly, the dealer has replaced the unit with another one (different firmware version). So it seems more a software issue.

Easy fix:
Start the car,after HU displays recent apps,don't go for close all button,close every app manually,by sliding or pressing the x btn for every app singly,go To factory setting,and choose reboot.

This will give you one clean start...the minute you run any apps after that you're back to square one.

same problem with my Witson PX5 Android 9. Sometimes it opens recent apps instead of the launcher.
Any ideas?

It's very moody...sometimes it goes straight to radio, sometimes to Agama(my launcher).
I tried putting Agama in the Auto launch section of factory settings, but that only works after a reboot, not hibernation.
I also tried to launch things from Agama, but of course that assumes Agama is running - which I find not to be the case every time.
I think it boils down to Android killing the background apps when going into hibernation despite have power to RAM and MCU.

Did you not read that this only works ONCE....you suggesting someone to do this EVERY day.

Do you have fix for that? I have the same problem with Junsun V3 pro and its very annoying with own launcher :C

I have same problem with Agama. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried the Automate app to overcome the problem?

To have Agama start after both Reboot or a normal startup, you need to tick the small box at the bottom of the 'Autostart' screen in Agama

What is going on with The Agama Car Launcher? Trial was working great. Decided to go ahead and buy it. Next day. It just crashes. Try settings, just reloads. Try apps, reloads, cant long press anything. VERY disappointed.

I reloaded this onto my wife's PX5 unit the other week after a hard reset and it's working fine on hers. Perhaps you have installed something causing it to crash. Is stock launcher working ok?

How do you set the weather location? And the music player button is bugged. I have it set to PowerAmp, but when I tap the button nothing happens. I have to first load PowerAmp, then hit the Home key for it to work.

Volume on launch screen
Hi Folks,
I have a Dasaita Max6 (MTCE-HA V3 40.1) and installed Agama launcher and Poweramp music player. This is in my car and not on a smart phone.
The launcher has pause ,play etc on the middle bottom and volume up and down in the middle close to the top of the front screen. i'd love to use the front screen volume to control volume when [Poweramp runs in the background.
i don't quite understand this paragraph in the manual;
Note: AGAMA can only adjust Android system volume. Unfortunately, many head units have their own external amplifier, the volume of which is not connected with Android and is regulated only through the MCU (handles or buttons on the device itself). In this case, AGAMA cannot control the volume of the MCU and control will only be possible in the ways provided by the device manufacturers.​
Am I going to be able to use the front screen vol to control Poweramp ?

I buyed AGAMA Car Launcher. After that on each start I have "Security Warning" announcement and I must click OK to disable it. There is no on trial version. How to disable Security Warning message displayed every start? This is very annoying. I send email to support but there is no reply.

I have recently purchased and installed the Agama Car Launcher which I am loving.
I just have one issue with the program and seeking some advice.
I have a Kayhan Audio System which is running Android 8.1 and when I'm running the generic Home Screen and use the Bluetooth App, this is the screen I get.

Problem is, all the apps reload every time I am switching between them?
Is that right? - is there no way to go from ,say, my music tracks, to ( for example ) the radio app without the radio app having to reload all the stations again!
Seems a bit mad.

Install app QuickShortcutMaker and check the activities of the BT app. Maybe there are different activities for different screen resolutions.

You tested another launcher just to verify Agama is the problem? On some head units duraspeed is running.

Widgets Disabling after every boot

Hi Gurus, need some help from you all here. I've recently installed an Android Head Unit and loaded it with FCC launcher. After placing all the widgets nicely, I turned off the engine and left it overnight. When I started up my car the following morning, all my widgets failed to load. Initially I thought it might be an issue with the launcher app so I uninstalled and installed Nova launcher. Widgets worked again, but when I turned off the car and turned on again, all the widgets didn't load again. It seems like there's something in the boot sequence that is stopping the widgets from loading. Would any of you have such an experience? Need some expert help here please

This is a known issue and relates to the accessibility settings.
These units "forget" the given rights once they are in deep sleep. They are not persisted.
If you check them after rebooting, you can see that they are disabled.
Even the trick to use Tasker does not work, as you run into the same issue.
To check if one could help, check the accessibility settings, check the app rights and may be do some screenshots from the access. settings.

Thanks! I'm away from my car now, will try to get those screenshots later. I've checked the app rights and enabled every single one of them, but the widgets still don't work...

It would be really nice if you would reduce the size of your pictures.
Yes this is the page.
What you can see: Even Nova has no accessibility rights. If you now switch this settings to ON for Nova and then reboot the unit, you will see that the setting is rejected.
The same happens with Fcc, which is even not installed on your device.
For getting this work around your unit needs to get rooted and some additional SW needs to get installed as Tasker and Security Settings app... and at least any app which is able to start an app when booting up as Fcc.

I've switched the settings to ON, rebooted and the settings remained in ON position, but the widget still disappears (I reinstalled and placed the widget on the launcher again).

Which widgets are you talking about?
Show some pictures with activated widgets and give some information where the widgets are from... May be add them just instead of embedding them into the text.

Typically any widget that displays information on the launcher home. I've uninstalled and installed this Weather app again just to show u how it's supposed to look when it works... Once I restart, the widget just disappears and I can't add it back from the widget list. I can only put it back on the launcher if I go through the whole process of uninstall and install again...
