Hello Dear XDA Developers,
I have HUAWEI P8 LITE 2017 and I want to unlock it's bootloader so that root it as well. I am full aware that Huawei does not support bootloader unlock code right now, though there are some software like DC Unlocker but I have to give it a payment which in world of opensource it looks nasty even though I cannot take it as an option because I'm from Iran and I cannot have any global payment method like Paypal or credit card.
I've been seaching for a whole year and still no track on this issue. no program works. non of the software in this site worked. I event tried to bypass the root option using LINUX (I am a LINUX user) but still no solution found.
I'm full aware that no warranty will be given after root or unlocking boot loader but just think about it, Huawei P8 lite does not supported anymore. so why should I care about warranty or other stuff. This phone is mine and I have the rights to change it to my own even destroy it.
All in all I'm asking you if you can solve this issue for me.
My last purpose is to install newest Android firmware or the older firmware because I need to work with Termux in order to develop my field of science in which Termux does not support android 5.0 , 6.0.
so there are enough reason for me too root and unlock my phone boot loader.
I'm Posting a public information of my phone here if you might be in need:

you might be lucky
From the posted info I can see that you have an older Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21, the newer one Huawei P8 Lite 2017 is a different model PRA-LX1.
For your phone model there is a free bootloader unlock method but it's quite complex.
Giving the fact that you are a Linux user, I think you can make it work.
Have a look here and good luck!

there's a paid method to get the bootloader code:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/get/jvObBBIo
you must buy credits to get the feature you want. in your case, you need to buy enough credits to get your bootloader code.
OK
thanks for your info, but i really hope i can root it without paying, will explore your solution in a while though. Appreciate your suggestion.
Hello!
I've been trying to root my Huawei P8 Lite (EMUI version 4.0.3, Android 6.0). I heard that you have to unlock the bootloader, but unfortunately a few days ago Huawei actually removed the code generator page that you need to use to unlock the bootloader. I don't want to pay for a new code but I do want to root my device. Is there any way to do this?
I've already emailed Huawei at [email protected] and I've been waiting for a response for some hours now.
Thanks for any help!

Hello,
you need the 'bootloader code' that can be read with a paid service.
DC-UNLOCKER for PCs or DC Huawei Bootloader Codes app you find on the store
will help you do the work.
Install the drivers for your device/hisuite on your PC.
Then install adb&fastboot on your PC and use it to unlock.
Backup everything you need because unlock will factory reset your device...
Remove all security (fingerprints, etc..), enable oem-unlock and usb-debugging in developer options,
then proceed with the unlock. (these steps are essential to prevent bricks)
Both the website and the app contains detailed guides.
Good luck dude.
P.S.: Yes P9 lite mini is supported...
Cheers
To unlock you can use dc unlocker, as for roms, well SLA dosen't have any custom roms not even lineage however i am working on a EMUI based ROM which should be here soon.
Well that didnt boot, however lineageos 14.1 is ready but untested also theres a working twrp built for p9 lite mini, if tou want updates then join telegram group for p9 lite mini

Hello,
I have a P8 lite 2017 (PRA-LX1) and I would like to unlock the bootloader so that I can have a better control on the phone. Thus I need a unlock code.
I'm well award that Huawei doesn't provide this information anymore. Which alternatives exist in 2020 ?
I have seen these alternatives on Github :
SkyEmie/huawei-honor-unlock-bootloader
haexhub/huaweiBootloaderHack
...
Why they aren't enough ? Because there are bruteforce-kind : not the best way to deal with that problem as some phones like this one have a protection that prevent to try more than 5 times for a run ...)
Thank for the help

Hello guys,
I have been following the forum for a long time but it is the first time that I need to consult you. Basically, I bought a p10 lite as a forklift. Except that I had ordered it nobrand but it arrived branded vodafone. I have done all the necessary procedures and now it is nobrand but it is still at the WAS-LX1AC432B182 version without the possibility of updating because it tells me that this is the last for this device even if it is not true.
Checking from HiSuite itself, it tells me you are "using the latest official version".
What can I do to unlock the updates?

here the short way like i did it xxxxx times
extract the HWOTA8_WAS and put the 3 downloadet file archive into folder update and go back to parent folder. now start your phone into fastboot (with all needet permission like unlock bootloader usb debugging active and oem unlock) and connect it to usb.
after that you start the update_eng.bat and do the following
follow the steps and first start with repacking the firmware...follow the steps...at the point where you must choose betwen update the firmware or change the location...better use change the location and choose WAS-LX1AC432 why its better...cause i had problems with the update prcess the other way. Dont know why but who cares. the change location way did work for me very well.
yeah thats all...after complete the hole process the phone reboots and you have the newest firmware with the newest security patch and have fun with it
