It seems that Antutu does not gives the correct reading of the cpu temperature on Exynos S20. Most people used it to compare temperature in their videos
When I open Antutu Benchmark it tells me that my CPU is at 50 while I'm doing nothing and the phone is totally cold, which is obviously impossible. If I download any other apps in the Play store such as CPU Monitor, it tells me the CPU is 28° which seems to be much more realistic and coherent numbers. Also, according to a user this also is the same temperature as PerfZ which is own Samsung tool to measure temperature.
I tried few different apps and Antutu is the only which give me such high numbers

Don't get me wrong tho, I am NOT saying that the Exynos variant is cooler than the Snapdragon or anything, I didn't do any test as I don't own a Snapdragon S20 so I can't state anything about that.
A test I made:
Here is what I did before starting the test:
Remove the phone case - Charge to 70% - Wait 10 minutes to cool down to ambiant temp - Close all background apps - Set phone to airplane mode - Place it on wooden surface and start the test
If anyone owning a Snapdragon S20 could make the same test it would be awesome to compare the results! (Without the surface temperature if you don't have the tools to measure it)
Test made with CPU Throlling Test app
Time is in minutes
Surface temp taken at the hottest point

actually, 40-50 idle temperatures arent too abnormal because s20 was a hot phone initially(idk if it still is). my root app also shows my cpu being around 60-70 under load (exy 9820) which makes sense(3C cpu manager). Also the fact that surface temperature is 45 °C is alone proof that cpu must be way hotter. Since the surface is cooling with air + big surface area for heat to spread.

Noticed that my G2 was getting pretty warm this morning while web browsing. After that I ran Antutu and it was really warm. Just to see how warm it was getting it installed System Tuner and left it open while running Antutu again. As soon as it was finished I kicked over into System Tuner to find under CPU the temp was 168.8F. Playing Angry Birds SW it's in the mid 140s, browsing was 120ish. That seems abnormally hot to me. It's at 109.4F right now with only ST open, nothing else and it's been sitting off for 20 minutes. Thinking about returning it for a replacement.
G2 is completely stock, not rooted, very few apps installed. Only syncing is gmail, contacts, chrome & app data. Wifi on and connected, strong tower signal. No case on the phone.
I've read through a few threads in various places discussing the G2 getting hot but I've yet to see anyone post temps like this. I do realize that Antutu is a tool and doesn't reflect everyday real world use, but it's hitting high temperature in games too.
Thoughts, opinions?
Edit: Ran Antutu again and checked battery temp with cpu z, was at 102.7

way too hot, you probably have a process stuck in the background. did it go away after a reboot?
I've rebooted several times through the day and it hasn't made a difference. Went up to 131F just now running Tapatalk. I haven't found anything stuck in the background either. This thing heats up just browsing.

I've noticed my G2 feeling warm also. After Web browsing for a few minutes, the CPU temp is 120 according to System Tuner. It was warmer earlier today, but didn't have a chance to check the temp.

AS YOU KNOW
P= U x I
If U << then P << / (I not change)
If P << we will save more battery
P/S " If my reasoning is correct, then we will get a new set, it helps achieve better performance, more energy saving. My opinion that we should eliminate the activities of Core-A7"
Hi everyone!
As you know, Samsung S4 chip Octa ownership, including 2 processor: Core-A7 and Core-A15; Core-A15 has a better performance compared to Core-A7 but Core A7 - saving more energy; Core-A7 is used for the conventional process. Core-A15 to speed, used for high-speed process needs.
However, I noticed that the ladder of A7 chip - we owned mV index higher than the ladder of A15. You can easily see the following:
CORE A7

According to my experience, mV lower will save more battery.
I have used many kernel and all the same results. mV of Core-A7 higher than mV of core-A15.
Core-A7 of OCTA not help save battery life compared to Core-A15 ???????????
I'm going to find an explanation....
Pls give me your positive feedback!!!!!
If my reasoning is correct then we can only use core-A15 (Set = 800 Mhz minimum, eliminate activities of Core A7), this setting ensures better performance and power consumption receptors.
Pls give me your feedback!!!!!
If my reasoning is correct, then we will get a new set, it helps achieve better performance, more energy saving. My opinion that we should eliminate the activities of Core-A7?????????????????????

Since I see so much Ignorant in the Battery thread, I like to point out (rant) some things..
1. A person 6 hour of Screen On Time usage is different from person to person.
2. Temperature can have a great affect on battery life.
3. Signal strength can have a great affect on battery life.
So with that in mind, I suggest everyone try to do a PC Mark bench, it is fair and give people a much better idea of what of what they should be getting. To do this test here are the few settings you need to set
1. BRIGHTNESS AT 23-25% (EYEBALL IT)
2. Wifi on
3. do not disable Mobile data or sync
4. Clear all RAM before start
below are the CONTROL numbers from a stock rom (pictures are from greenbot.com)

Below is my stat, using arter kernel and foreverloco rom. (I DO UNDERVOLT MY KERNEL) ambient is about 20C
I get what I get based on MY real world usage. I don't need synthetic benchmarks or software to tell me anything. Why do people obsess about this so much?

To see if your phone performing at optimum settings. The problem is there is no set controls or way to bench it properly and this is the way how.
Why this benchmark is useless? Let's say we have two Edge+, under this benchmark CPU on both runs at 1GHz all the time and both last for 8h. Now imagine that one device runs program/service that keeps waking up the device every few minutes and the other goes and stays into deep sleep without any problems. Benchmark might show no difference or just slight difference. In real life 1 device will get 6h sot during 48 h usage, the other one will get 3h sot and run out of juice in less than 24h.
Good benchmark should simulate at least 24h usage with breaks to test standby drain as well.

Hi guys, i want to ask you one thing: are this temperatures fine after an intense use of phone (internet, about half hour of Modern Combat, camera etc)? To my hands it is a little warm, but i think is normal. Do you?

All devices heat up a bit after some heavy usage, nothing to be worried about though.
Yes, i know, i just wanted to know if those temperatures are normal The phone warm up a little bit when it is charging too, right now i have 32.8° battery's temperature. Is that normal too? Thank you in advance.

First of all Sorry if this question is a repetition. Can't find a proper answer for this at least relevant to latest devices like Galaxy S7.
I play lot of heavy games in S7 like MORTAL KOMBAT X, NFS No Limits, Real Racing, GTA Sanandreas, Modern Combat 5. Might be about 45 mins continuously, twice every day. The question is that whether heating up of device & the battery has any adverse affect/permanent damage to battery life(long term) causing it to last shorter when compared to how it was out of the box even with same amount of gaming. Hope everything is clear in the question.
Thanks

Few minutes later, As I'm typing this, this is how it's running:
These are taken in normal room temperature. Im curious what temperatures you all are running at? and what you guys feel is "normal"?
It doesn't really ever run below 40c currently and I'm not sure if these temps are healthy behavior. 50c in my hands doesn't exactly feel "comfortable"...

Yeah that looks high, are you rooted?
This should fix your problem if you are rooted

I was rooted, but am now back to stock to see if it would solve this heat...

I'm rooted, installed xposed , flashed the fixes and debloater and have both greenify and amplify running, running way better than it ever did stock...mine was buggy out of the box but now it's pretty dang smooth here's the whole guide of you haven't already been this far http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...sed-unroot-t3411039/post67605246#post67605246
I'm stock and never rooted. I can say that this phone gets way too hot. Doesn't seem normal at all.
So exchanged my regular S7 for an Edge, and it's thermals are way better. Running around 34c. May have just been poor thermal pad contact...

Well it's a larger phone with more surface area. Maybe that's why?
