My wife's s7 had a security update recently, it keep installing updates, rebooting, installing updates again, rebooting and kept repeating. So i force restarted it. Then it doesnt boot up anymore. Tried to go into recovery, download mode with the usual key combinations (vol up + power + home, or with volume down + power) - nothing works. charging doesnt show any indicator lights on the phone, but wireless charging does show indication on the wireless charger itself...
Tried USB-JIG - doesn't work either but it works on my Note 3. Does anyone have any ideas on what are the options are to fix this?

Hi,
I've just received my Nexus 4 today.
I tried the phone and it was working great. So, I decided to root the phone.
I installed the drivers, unlocked the bootloader and rebooted the phone without any problem, but I noticed something strange, when I installed the usb drivers, I couldn't browse of transfer files to my phone, I thought it was just a bug and I said I would remove the usb drivers after rooting the phone.
After unlocking the bootloader and rebooting the phone, I powered off my phone, but it doesn't want to boot again.
All I did is unlocking the bootloader, I didn't root or flashed any rom or the supersu yet.
Anyway, after several times of pressing the power button and the volumes button, it booted again into the fastboot, and the first thing I did is re-locking the bootloader in case I can replace my phone if there is any problem with it.
I rebooted it after re-locking the bootloader, and it worked again.
For some reasons I decided to reboot my phone, and I did it while it was plugged to my PC.
Now the same problem happened, it doesn't want to run again. I tried every button combination (Power button for 30 secs) (Power + Volume Up) (Power + Volume Down) (Power + Vol Up + Vol Down). Nothing worked. It's completely dead.
It's not completely turned off because when I plug it to my PC, a new devices appears in the device manager but there is no driver for it.
Also, when I press the power button for 30 seconds while it's plugged to the PC, a red led light appears for few seconds and it disappears again.
I figured out that the problem happens when I reboot the phone while it's plugged to PC.
Now the phone is dead, and doesn't want to boot again.
What should I do? please help.
P.S: The battery was 100% charged when the problem happened.
This case is somewhat similar to mine.. I still havn't found a solution yet ....
Nevermind, I found a solution.
I charged it for 15 minutes, then unplugged the charger and pressed power button + vol up + vol down simultaneously, and it worked.
My battery was fully charged though. So, I don't know why charging the phone solved the problem.
I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy Tab A T280 to the latest firmware and I lost my root. So this afternoon I re-rooted it. Or I attempted to, anyway. Everything seemingly went fine, and I booted into TWRP just fine. I went to flash the ROM and I also selected wipe cache/davlik cache to be done as well, and tapped reboot. My device then turned off and when it started the reboot, it got stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A logo screen and would not move or power off by holding the power button (I tried for a LONG time by using a rubber band to hold it down so I didn't have to, with no luck), and every other combination of buttons wouldn't do a thing, except for holding power + vol down, which made it turn off and back on, but it wouldn't finish rebooting and it just got stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A logo again. So then I thought that maybe plugging it into a charger might not be a bad idea, and after holding down power + vol down again, it turned off and turned on and showed a battery with a charging symbol. I've had it plugged in for an hour and it does not show a charge or do anything except for go back to that boot logo if I unplug it from the charger and again hold down power and volume down separately.
I know it's not hard bricked because it is somewhat responsive so I think there's a chance to fix it, hopefully. I just want it to turn on and fully reboot into anything or in any way that will allow me to be able to fix the issue. My computer will not recognize the device so ADB is not an option right now unless I'm wrong.
Thanks a lot guys, I am so confused and could really use some advice.
What firmware did you install
Try to install original firmware via software "Samsung Smart Switch" on your PC with connected tablet.
I too recommend that you try installing the last firmware that you were on via Odin. Also, when you hit that screen lock issue after a firmware flash, where only the Samsung logo appears do this:
1. press and hold Home + volume up and volume down along with power button (that's all 4 buttons). Hold it there for at least 20 seconds and it should power off.
2. Once the device powers off keep holding the buttons but let go of the volume down button.
3. Once the tablet starts to power back up again release the power button and then in about 1 to 2 second release the rest of the buttons.
This should get you back into recovery. You should at least be able to restore any backup, that you should have already, on your external micro SD.
Good luck.. : )
"Chance Favors the Prepared"
the above post is 100% right. Reboot back into recovery and you'll be good to go. Also twrp has a option to reboot back to recovery so this doesn't happen, just a fyi for future knowledge. Best of luck..
You tried to flash a rom with twrp?
You need to flash stock firmware with odin.
Today, I was using my phone, and then it starting running really slow, so I decided to restart it. I powered it off like normal, but then when I went to try to turn it on, nothing happened. So I decided to plug it up, and that's when a screen came up saying the following message in red text on a black background:
Bootloader exception
[ AST_STAT = 0x10000 ]
Exception: do_handler_sync: DABT_EL1(esr: 0x96000010)
pc : 0x8f026210 lr : 0x8f0261cc sp : 0x8f117f60
I've tried looking up other solutions such as holding down power+home+Vol-up, and it does nothing. Holding down power button does nothing either.
Whenever I plug up my phone to my computer, it shows up as "SAMSUNG Mobile USB CDC Composite Device" in the device manager, but it doesn't show up as a drive like it normally would when I plug it into my computer.
My phone was also on android version 7.0 using the stock samsung ROM. I have never tried to root the phone either, so that shouldn't be an issue in this situation.
Does anybody know what I could do to try to fix this issue?
I would use Odin to flash a new bootloader or just a new ROM, but the problem is, I can't find any way to reboot the phone to boot it into download mode.
Haven't tried this since the s3, but maybe it'll work.
Search on here for Galaxy S7 USB jig

Hold power + volume down + home for 15 seconds. It's supposed to shut off from there and attempt to boot up, but if it's still getting stuck on that screen there may be a major hardware issue. USG jig wont work on S6 and S7 already tried before.
You can hold the combinations for longer until the phone reboots multiple times and you see the light blue screen prompting for confirmation to boot download (ODIN) mode.

The buttons seem to be unresponsive. No matter what combination I press, or how long I press, none of them do anything. The phone just stays on that screen until the battery dies. And as soon as I try to boot it back up or plug it into the computer after it dies, it just goes back to that screen.
Yours phone mbo is dead, try to rma phone.Emmc chip is dead on mbo,no flashing will bring him back to life.
HAHAH WHO SAYS THE MOB IS DEAD... HEY BUDDY CHECK MY THREAD THERE IS A FIX

hi. i tried flashing twrp through odin and it didnt work and now im stuck with a bootloop that wont stop, i tried volume down + bixby and then connecting to the pc to enter download mode but it doesnt work it just keeps booting and turning off non stop.
i figured the battery will die soon since i was at 40%~ and then it will be easier to enter download mode but nothing, 3 hours of non stop bootloop.
any solutions?
Allready solved?
Try power+vol down, then as screen goes off, immediately press vol down and bixby and connect the cable.
Hi!
I have a problem with a galaxy a40 device, I flashed a stock ROM with Odin, everything went fine, green lights, PASS and all, but now the device just won't go pass the SM logo anymore. When I turn on, logo appears 2-3 secs I get a warning of the unlocked BL then logo comes back and after a second the phone restarts itself and the same goes on forever ( well about several hours, and after that it just shuts off somehow ). I cannot enter recovery mode or download mode at all. I keep pressing the combinations Power + Vol Down, Power + Vol Up, All three and every combinations I have just found on the internet so far. Odin doesnt recognize the phone, which is not a surprise since it won't start up. I have tried with adb but waiting for device is all I get.
How is it even possible that I cannot enter download mode at all? There was no problem with the physical keys, and the power still works, I cannot test the Vol buttons tho.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this? How can I come back from this? Is there a way to flash a ROM without download mode or turned off phone?
Thanks for any help!!
The download mode for this model is different from previous Samsung's :
IIRC, with the phone off, you need to hold VolumeUp and VolumeDown, then plug in the USB cable connected to a computer (you may need to press Power to power up the phone, I can't recall properly).
From there, you should be able to restore a stock ROM with Odin.
Let us know if it helped !

Here the same problem, have a40 in loop and never get rocgnized for computer, tryed many different cables, and installed a booring large amount of drivers software and nothing...
you need to power off device completely. let battery drain if you can't shut down. press and keep holding volume down + plug in usb cable for Odin3 (I doubt both?)

Generic answers, repeated 800 times why really need to waste a post with that? and that not was the problem:
1- For no usb recognition, is this phone bad design, in the back tap where is the battery in the samsung logo more or less if you push with fingers and charge is because the design of baterry is so crap and your usb port goes off when the under tap cable moves or just get little out of conection. If you can get working after push, usb on phone will do too.
