Windows 10 Problem with MTP Drivers as well as any android device - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP etc.

Hello There !
I'm using a Windows 10 Pro N version 1909 and I'm having a lot of problems with andoid devices since I'm not able to use any of them connected to my laptop. For a Nokia 8 there is an issue with MTP drivers, Xiaomi 8 pro is seen as a device but still issues with drivers, with a nexus 4 on which I installed noughat it doesn't show up at all(which is pretty wierd since I used the same laptop to root it and install the new version of android). Any suggestion to fix the issue?
I need to use them for my app development on android studio, any help would be really helpful.
Thanks for your help

Go to device manager and if it shows as anything other than your phone, right click and "uninstall device".........then reboot pc and plug phone back in. Usually works if you have already made sure you have the correct drivers installed.

The fix is really simple: just download and install the media feature pack. IT contains all codec and the most important, the MTP driver. You won't find it separately except in this pack.

Windows 7

Hey guys,
Reviewed alot of the posts here, but can't find out what the status is with the native functionality of cell modem access on Win 7...
I just got Windows 7 Pro installed (it isn't the beta, or hacked, it's retail), Everything is working (touchscreen, aero, etc...) with the exception of the native cell modem internet sharing.
I do know there is a hack by using the USB tool to get it working, however I'm just curious if anyone has it working the proper way as intended by HTC?
I'm noticing there are no devices missing drivers in the device manager, the HTC control app works fine, and even can control the modem on the snapvue side of things...
But there is still no "virtual" network adapater inside of the Network adapters on the system...
Scratch that...
I'm a tool. My shift has been sitting for 6 months after not being used until today when I decided to upgrade...
Totally forgot the virtual adapter only shows when no other connections are present...
Everything is working now
Hi!
How did you get the TS to work?
I've been trying to get the touchscreen to work with the latest W7 but no soceess. I've followed the guide on XDA and all tips on XDA but no sucess.
Could you maybe write down how you did even if it was just a regular installation? I've reinstalled and all but the ts just won't work!

To be honest, I was an idiot and had a horrible install... Here's what I did if you dare try..
1. Install all the drivers (NOT using compatibility mode and "Run as Admin")
Only a few things worked, it was horrible...
2. Re-installed ALL the drivers, using the list that HTC recomends. Keep in mind that the device manager will show some of the devices as not working, after you install all the drivers in Compatibility mode, along with "Run as admin". Go to the Device manager, and right click on all the problemtic devices and select "Uninstall".
3. Restart the computer, then Aero will start bluescreening and crashing. Boot into safemode (with networking). Go to the device manager and disable both Video card adapater shown.
4. restart and go to Intel's website and download the latest Chipset INF installer, and Video drivers for windows 7. Install the Chipset INI first, then video drivers...
5. At this point I can't remember but I thinnk the touchscreen didn't work. I just ran the Touchscreen installer one last time, and BANG it worked...
Sorry for my horrible instructions, it was a messy install, but everything is working for me now.
Thanks!
I't looks similar to how i've been fooling around with my shift.
Well, at least it's gratifying to know that i may get it to work if keep messing with it

Hi just have a quick question: When you upgraded your vista to Win 7, do you used the upgraded disk or start from the OEM win 7?
I actually didn't upgrade.
I used a Open Business Volume disc I have that was issued to my company. I guess it's the same thing as a retail copy.
I did a fresh install.

Thanks! It is OEM Disk. And one more think are you install the Win 7 pro or the ultimate? Thanks again. I really appreciate your help.
I could be wrong, but I think I did Win 7 Pro
Thanks again...I will try to install win7 pro on mine. I think 7 ultimate for Shift is too much coz the processor itself is only 800Mhz.

[HOW TO] KFHD 7 MTP Driver Problem Windows 7 N Version

Hey there,
I found a solution for the MTP-Driver issue under Windows 7 N Edition.
A few days ago I bought a new SSD Drive for my Desktop.
So i decided to install a fully new Windows on it, cause my windows 7 x64 was about 4 years in use now and doesnt worked reliable.
I decided to give Windows 7 N Version a try, cause it comes without some futures i thought i would not need.
ATM I use this KF First Aide with my KFHD 7
Installation of the ADB Driver worked without a problem, but i still got the yellow triangle on MTP Driver.
Tried then to install the driver manually using windows update. it didnt find a driver for MTP.
Tried to install the MTP device manualy selecting MTP Device in the "all devices" list (Standard MTP Device).
But this didnt work either.
After hours of searching i found a thread that led me to this :
As promised by Microsoft the N Version comes WITHOUT the Windows Media Player.
But as it seams the Windows Media Player contains the MTP Driver.
For god sake microsoft provides a pack to install it manually Media Feature Pack für Windows 7 N
This works of course only with original Windows as u have to pass a Genuine Verification to download it.
After installing the pack. The windows update found 2 other updates. i got them too and restarted my system. Now the triangle is gone. And my KFHD is recognised as Portable Device and everything works fine.
Dunno weather it will work with other Windows 7 Versions.

This is just ridiculous..
I have Windows 8.1 N Pro installed and can't use either, because it is missing the MTP driver. The fact that i have to install the Media Feature Pack to use a fundamental feature of my PC is just F***** UP! It is just Microsoft's way of giving the finger to the EU, and it makes the N-version completely useless.
But i refuse to install Windows Media Player and all that other crap just to use my Nexus 5 with my new laptop. If i have to write to the EU to try and make them force Microsoft to make the driver available as a standalone install, i will. This is just principally wrong of Microsoft, but really not surprising.
If people would just boycot Microsoft they might learn. But that will never happen, unfortunately..

[Q] WIndows 8 Does not See Nexus Files

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 then subsequently to Android 4.3 on my Nexus 10. I can see the device in device manager and adb recognizes that the device is connected however the device does not show up as device to enable me to transfer files. My Galaxy Nexus and Xoom show up as expected. I have installed the latest drivers and I am at a loss. I have other ways of transferring files but I would like to get this fixed. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I found a solution that worked. See solution at this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380978&page=3

Windows 8.1 can't find MTP Driver

So now that I upgraded to 8.1, my SGS4 no longer connects to the computer. Under Device Manager I can see the MTP listed with an exclamation mark. The error is:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
The install class is not present or is invalid.
I installed the Samsung USB drivers from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555 but that did not help

Same here. Either Gnex or Asus N7 both not working as USB mass Storage devices. Tryed alot of drivers.
Try deleting your preinstalled drivers restart and let windows reinstall them for you.

Well it sure helped me. Thanks willdmo!:good:
Just today I installed Windows 8.1 N pro x64, the "N" versions means it excludes windows media player (I never use that **** anyway).
It's quite ironical that I ended up installing it anyway... damn you microsoft.
The update is called "Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8.1" < if you search that you'll find the download page, I don't have privilege to post links here.
My problem was just as everyone else's here - my Motorola Razr M XT907 did show up as unrecognized MTP in device manager.
After applying that "pack" and rebooting, it works normally.
F you microsoft.

Thank you. This Worked.
F*** Microsoft.
Just learned that after installing windows 8.1 and kit Kat.. It will not recognize my phone... I have everything setup properly. Do not manually install
The drivers... It caused my phone to wipe every time I powered off. Which meant having to re flash all over again... Reflashed stock. I'm not sure. But maybe with kit Kat you need nexus 5 drivers...

Any other ideas how to fix it?

+1.
I tried latest Samsung usb drivers from XDA post. It doesn't work (erratic bebavior mounting/unmounting drive repeatedely)
Edit: Finally I succeeded in mounting internal SD to PC on windows 8.1. Just to share my own experience:
- I installed Samsung USB drivers v1.5.15.0. (not sure it is very important to get this version rather than the last one 1.5.29.0) and rebooted
- And I changed my data cable (for the same model, but appeared to work better)
- when I plug the 'good' cable it opens immediately the SD card in explorer
- when I replace cable with former one, back to errativ behavior.

Enabling USB Debug Mode solved my problem.
I solved my problem by flashing the latest german 4.3 rom now it works like a charm.
I also had blocked some some unnecessary system apps, which was considered safe to disable - using BootManager http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432359
And also some apps samsung apps were greenified
After I had all the system apps re-authorized, and had updated to 4.3, it went smoothly.
I hope this can help someone who just forgot to re-enable some "important" apps

Thanks, but as written above, I solved it by updating to 4.3 and the re-enabling of various apps
You just need to install "windows media feature pack" for your win 8 or 8.1

no driver worked......i try clean install of windows 7 and use my driver cd but,,there is no sound
So you formatted again and did another install of Windows 7, and it still doesn't show up? Is it onboard audio? Check the BIOS to ensure it's enabled.
Google brings up a lot of results, have you tried looking at them? What does Device Manager show?
If it still doesn't work, the sound card/motherboard if onboard might be dead.
I can't count on two hands how many people, including myself had this upgrade problem. Always audio or video.
Firstly, I'd check to see on the notebook/pc manufacturer website if they have Windows 10 drivers for your model. That's the best place to start.
Some older drivers are getting automatically updated through Windows Update. It seems Microsoft has encouraged some key driver updates. E.g. Intel integrated graphics.
Lastly, uninstall the driver, reboot your computer, now, install the driver again under compatibility mode for the version of Windows you have.
For audio, compatibility mode worked. Get this. My notebook came with Windows 7. The Windows 7 driver works (after about 20 attempts) but the Windows 8 driver doesn't. My understanding is that Windows 8 drivers are a bit more compatible with 10 than 7. But the 7 driver actually worked better.
Let us know how you get on.
