Decrypt data problem - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hello,
Today i update from xiaomi eu 9.12.12 to 20.3.19 via dirty flash. The update went smoothly, but then i had the decrypt data when booting to twrp, i then changed my recovery OrangeFox and formated my data and waited for my system too boot up, went through the setup and then booted to recovery only to find that the problem with decryption is still there.
If anyone knows what i can do to fix this please help me.
Thank you.

And you may need to format your data.

I updated to R10.1_02 (had R10.1) then formatted data and went through the setup and booted to recovery and found the same problem.
Do i need to re flash the ROM from the recovey after i format?
Edit: i think i downloaded the wrong version, testing again right now.
Edit 2: Yup had the wrong version before, R10.1_02 fixed the problem, thank you @DarthJabba9.

Thank you

Hey, I'm having the same problem can you please post how you fixed this issue?
Oh goodness, uhh... Think I booted to TWRP and formatted the data partition first, then rebooted.

So did you do the wipe (factory reset) and reboot or did you click format data and reboot?

Decrypting Data

OK, so I realized I cannot actually modify system with the Phh superuser. I need to get supersu on and I cannot do that unless I can access data in TWRP. Whenever I format it I end up soft bricked. Any suggestions?
We formated it and restored data from another search code through fastboot.
Now we have the full rom in another thread, so there should be all you need
Remember seeing the thread, but unable to find it now.

I have a CAZ-AL10, nothing there for me. I formatted data and now bootlooped. update.app is not working either.
Used update.zip from here http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php and it worked.
Still can't manage to decrypt without bootloop. What format should I format it to?
My rear camera image is upside down after unbricking by flashing the stock ROM. any fix for it.

First, you need to root in TWRP. Reboot, and format the partition datŠ°

TWRP Unable to mount storage

Hi,
Noob here. I have a x727, bootloader is unlocked, twrp 3.0.2-0 installed, flashed rom fine everything working.
I went to do another backup today because I was going to flash an updated rom, but I'm getting this error in TWRP:
"Unable to mount storage"
when I try to do a backup. The "internal storage" shows (0 MB).
I also cannot see the files I transferred over to flash, I assume because it can't mount the partition.
How do I fix this? Thx in advance.
maybe u get encrypted ?
Shouldn't he wipe?
not sure how/if i got encrypted, never intentionally did so.
ok i guess it was easier than i thought...reflashed twrp and it works now. thx for the ideas.
wipe FORMAT DATA , please backup first .

Encryption Unsuccessful - Help Needed

Hey guys, I was trying to flash a ROM. TWRP was unable to wipe data. It showed error "unable to mount data". So I reformatted the data partition to exFat from ext4. After that, I was able to wipe data.
Then I flashed Carbon ROM. Everything went fine but when I booted I got Encryption unsuccessful message with an option to reset the phone. I clicked reset phone, then I was booted to recovery. I tried wiping data but it doesn't work. It gives errors which you can see in the images attached.
So, can the problem be fixed using the MiFlash tool and flashing stock rom? Or do I need to manually format data partition first?
Thanks!
Nevermind, I was able to boot into twrp and then I reformatted the data partition to ext4. Then I reflashed this rom and it seems to boot fine now.

Sure, in TWRP go to Wipe > advanced wipe > select data > change or repair file system > change file system > select your preferred format.

Cannot access files unless in TWRP

Hello!
I tried to do a clean install of MIUI Global (10.3.11, which came with the phone). I didn't install any other ROM before in this device. Wiped eveything (data, system, dalvik etc.), then flashed the ROM and Magisk.
Now, when I connect the phone via USB I cannot access my files. It only shows "internal shared storage" on Windows, and it's all empty. When I try to transfer a file it shows nothing, the file just don't go. While in recovery I can access the storage and transfer files.
*I did activate USB depuration in developer mode.
*I did change de USB mode to "transfer files"
*I reinstalled the ROM several times.
Maybe it's something to do with the format type of the storage?
I'd try to do a ROM fastboot but I cannot find the fastboot version of MIUI Global for MI 9T.
Please, help
Did you format data? I think you forgot this part, format data then you can wipe it if you want.(formatting will delete everything from your internal storage ofc)
Ohk Let Me Help You .
Have You Advance Swipe the internal storage..then rebooted to twrp Before flashing the ROM !!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I did.
It seems like the "/storage/emulated/0/........." is broken. I cannot do nothing on this folder. I tried to create a file/folder in it with Solid Explorer and it says that the directory wasn't found.
Any idea?

I already tried this. I'll try once more to format data, wipe, reboot to TWRP and flash the ROM.

Noticed that when I try to wipe data after formatting it an error appears on TWRP: "error opening '/data/media' (No such file or directory". Is it normal?
Seems like the ROM isn't properly creating the directory, that's why I can't access it.
