So after flashing verizon firmware , does it lock to the verizon?? or can I use my local sim? please help me
I DONT WANT TO LOCK MY PHONE
If you flash Verizon firmware then you will have everything Verizon, even the bloatware. You can still use your local SIM, but you might need a Verizon SIM or call Verizon to allow it to unlock for use with your local SIM.

what if i flash g975u1 firmware , can i use my sim without any problem ? and can I get OTA updates ?
The U1 firmware is Samsung's unlocked firmware so it should work, yes. I am not sure about OTA, you might can get them. If not you can always flash firmware updates with Odin.

Hi,
My Note3 is not specific to any carrier - bought from CPW (uk) without any contract / sim card. It seems to have the 'generic' firmware on it.
1. Does anyone know if I can flash the carrier specific firmware for my carrier on this phone ? my carrier is three UK, and im hoping their firmware will have a more reliable signal for their network than the stock one. I also understand that when Three turn on 4g this december, they will be sending a software upgrade to make it work. Im unsure if this is a sim update, or a firmware update, but it seems unlikely that my phone would get it if its not Three specific if its a firmware update.
2. Can I flash back after this?
3. WIll it burn my Knox fuse?
4. Will it wipe the phone (assuming I flash the zip from SamMobile using KIES) ???
Thanks in advance for any answers
George
No!
In answer to my own questions..
just downloaded and flashed the H3G rom for the UK, and it flashed everything, then failed at the end.
My phone is now in emergency recovery mode, so i grabbed kies, and went through the procedure... except it didnt see the phone..
now trying to re-flash the original using Odin...
The knox fuse has not been blown tho.
Hoping the re-flash to original works...
Only other option I can see is a complete recovery in Kies, but that defo wipes the phone

I'm told by '3' that all the phones they release now, are actually 'unlocked'..as the S5 is their latest flagship - i'd like to ask this..
Is it unlocked, if so..does that mean you are getting OTA software updates from Samsung..or are you still having to wait for '3'3 to stall and wait weeks/months for the updates to get their 'approval'?
Thanks.

If you have a 3 network phone I would guess where mine says (BTU) yours will have (H3G) or similar if it isn't BTU then it is carrier branded
You can debrand it to BTU download the Generic BTU firmware from Sammobile make sure you get the right phone model you should be on the G900F but check it to be sure

Thanks for replying..
I don't actually own one,, just asking as I'm thinking of going contract with them in near future.
I'm asking if anyone can check if it is indeed BTU out of the box?
I didn't realise we can flash BTU firmware onto an otherwise network branded phone, interesting.. Thanks.
You mean Unbranded, not unlocked.
The EU forbid simlocking in 2011. All EU phones, even branded ones, are unlocked to use with any providers' SIM. (The Region Lock, however, is a Samsung thing. But that only affects non-eu SIMs in an EU device.)
They are still allowed to run their own firmware though. So you get the silly logo and crappy apps if it's branded.
And yes, if it's branded, you have to wait for the provider updates. (they still go via Samsung's servers, but the provider has to modify them first. Samsung then has to re-test and re-approve it, whcih takes a while, hence the wait.)
But in general you can flash the official unbranded rom over it with no issue, provided it's the same or a newer version.
Sammobile lists firmware branded for H3G, so yes, it's safe to assume they are branded out of the box. CSC: H3G: G900FH3G1AND4 (No, I don't own one.)

Hello all,
I bought an unlocked S10+ US version and I need to do a hard reset. Which is the correct firmware version to download? I use my phone on ATT and Tmobile.

SM-G975U1 and its firmware (XAA) will provide the best connectivity if you plan to regularly exchange SIMs.
Is it specific carrier-related features you're looking for?

So there a few caveats when running an unlocked Samsung handset on XAA firmware; you may or may not get specific features from your Carrier.
So if you use or value one carrier's feature set over the other than flash their firmware and convert your phone from SM-G975U1 to SM-G975U.
In exchange, you'll get the carrier bloat but it is can be disabled and some of it uninstalled.

XAA is the default software that ships with any unlocked USA-specific Samsung device.
You may or may not have access to VoLTE or WiFi Calling.

Help installing unbranded Firmware on LTE variant Galaxy S5e unlocked AT&T (SM-T727A)
Hi! Am trying to install an unbranded Firmware on my LTE AT&T variant tablet; I am very rusty with Odin, and some details. Can anyone tell me if I am doing this right?
1- First, I installed Smart Switch for the Samsung drivers.
2- Downloaded a patched version of ODIN as mentioned in this thread or here
3- Downloaded Frija from here, but I am unable to download any firmware with the exception of SM-T727U using CSC XAA like this:

}
I am not sure why, or what I am doing wrong, or if this Firmware is even compatible with my LTE tablet, but SM-T727U seems to be for an unlocked LTE variant maybe.
4- Enabled debigging, put tablet in Download mode, and started ODIN adding the firmware for AP, BL, CP, but I am not sure if I need to use CSC, or HOME_CSC? Which one is the correct one?
If I were to flash this, am I bricking my tablet?
Thanks in advanced for any help!!!

CSC
If you want Odin to wipe all third-party apps, data, and settings and perform a factory reset while installing the firmware, you should add the CSC binary to Odin.

Find Region/CSC Code of Your Samsung Galaxy Device
If your phone is not SIM-locked or carrier-branded, you can install any unbranded firmware that matches your device model regardless of CSC match. However, if your Galaxy device is carrier-branded, you must install a firmware that matches your device’s CSC or it will be bricked.

Should I risk it?
Did you ever get it flashed over?
Hey guys, just found the thread. Anyone know if an unlocked SM-T727A can be OEM unlocked? I mean the bootloader. The option is always missing no matter how many time I try according to the tutorials, which makes me doubt if a branded S5e doesn't even have this capabililty. Perhaps that's why I am here seeking a chance to flash it to an SM-T727U. Thanks for anyone who replies.
Hello guys, i bough my phone samsung S10 Plus with Snapdragon processor, G975U, and it is running android 10, i want to update it to android 11 but it displays my phone is up to date. OTA updates or Smart Switch doesnt work, tried many times. I live in Brazil and here its sold Exynos varian, since i dislike that version, i bought the Snapdragon USA version of S10 Plus, G975U.
The phone displays AT & T carrier when i turn it on, but its full unlocked, im using my carrier here in brazil, without problems. How can i update it safely, i am afraid getting the wrong rom or brick it. My bootloader version is showed bellow.

Thanks for your help. I will install G975UOYN5GUE3 one. Since i want to keep my apps and data i must flash HOME_CSC_*** right. Or it is not recommended and i should flash just the CSC_*** file? Im not sure
For some reason when i set odin up and the files, i get stuck on file analysis. I suspect is the home_csc that is causing it to take longer. I dont want to erase all my data. Yep waited like 10 min and the process did not start, still on file analysis. Using Odin 3.14.1
Finnaly i did it. Have switch versions, odin 3.14 worked for me. 3.14.1 did not, dont know why, but Who cares, now im running android 11 on my device
Congratulations! I don't know/care about CSC stuff, I never added it to the installation list.
I flashed with home_csc so i could keep all my data and apps. Everything went fine. Thanks

U1 is the unlocked variant. You can crossflash any USA Samsung variant, and you will not have any issues - just the carrier bloat and services are slightly different. Keep in mind that inserting a SIM card could change your firmware.
