Compare to which phone?
Far better then Samsung 20 series
I had s 20 ultra and p40 pro is definitely faster even with gsm on board so
I had to redo some basic stuff side by side with my OnePlus 7 Pro, and all in all, the animations and apps loading speeds are showing a slight advantage for the P40 Pro, so overall, they are neck to neck with the advantage of the neutral chip on the latter. I had a bias in OnePlus 's favor, but Huawei strongly delivers. Cameras, games, autodesk sketches, continuity between devices with Firefox, photo editing, virtual machine, this machine rocks.

Coming from a Honor 7 and comparing it to an iphone 7 plus that i have access to, i am very happy with it's overall working speed.
I am not into mobile gaming and even less interested in benchmark results, but use my smartphone quite often for all kind of everyday tasks these little computers were made for. I "measure" the working speed only by my perceived grade of annoyment when waiting for something to happen.
Starting the camera sometimes annoys me, guessing it takes sometimes around 4-5 seconds (not a snapshot device, even with hotkey on voldown button) besides that nothing to complain in terms of speed. I am really impressed by price/performance of this device.
In short... Yes
Not super but satisfactory.
I tried out a friends phone with this SoC. Works fine, still kinda sad that it's not really battery efficient.
Color
No mention of its speed, I love the color Sapphire Blue!

The tablet can be fast at times, yet it seems throttled most of the time, loads of slow downs and general sluggishness.
It is pretty nippy , but as machina said it does seem to get sluggish at times . Probably down to the 2gb ram on my version. But for £160 i still think its a bargain
It's great for Netflix, sky go etc. Great picture and sound has decent volume, just a bit jittery when using Facebook or browsing, yet I agree with The Mero, the tablet is great for the price! I got the 4g one from O2 on a very cheap contract, great value multi media device.

Blazingly fast. Been playing with my new phone for the past day and find it silky and very quick. Haven't experienced any multitasking issues/restarts.
Agreed. Absolutely smooth and fast, I am absolutely loving it! ?
very happy with performance ootb, I am not a power user in the usual meaning, my SoT per day per day is less than an hour a day, I don't play games on phone, but I do use custom applications for performance/stress testing our remote work applications that can turn every phone into a toaster, the kirin cpu handles really well the high loads.
Something nobody is mentioning here is the new EROFS File System, which could explain how the P30 Pro somehow feels even faster than what the Mate 20 Pro was. This file system is part of EMUI9.1

I agree with your comment.
Good Device. Overall Speed is good. Gaming and videos...everything is good.
It's meh. My phone sometime hangs when I try to take a photo or recently if I have used split screen
maybe it because i rooted the device seems to have started after that..ALSO any room suggestion would be nice
Previously with android 9 it was little bit slow but after updating to android 10 its over all speed is improved.
Major improvement in clicking photos with 48 MP camera and night mode . Ram management of background activity is better than previous android version.

Well i think its fast for daily usage. I can compare to redmi note 8 pro and poco x3. Its faster then both of these phones.
i would rate it 8-8,5 / 10 .
I believe it's fast. I'll give it a 9 or 10 out of 10. When I click on something and don't have to wait more that a second. I think that's pretty fast. Very FEW things buffer or take long too load. I don't know how much faster a phone can get. I researched and waited over 9 months to get this phone with the specs and price ratio. I think one of the only things that compares/exceeds (high speed with Amoled panel) is the now Redmi note 10 pro. I couldn't wait another 9 months though. My old phone wasn't gonna make it any longer.
