We’re really excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz Alpha, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those who are unfamiliar, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhances the overall user experience. This time around he have his wallpaper app Abstruct, were you will be able to find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers alongside a huge amount of amazing wallpapers.
The alpha builds include adjustments and improvements on top of the stock Android CAF base. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features.

Features:
Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op

Pratyush since you using 2 ROM's as well - I just had a question wonder if you can help me with that
I am on TDB as well - Using for now Miui5 & AOKP - Now issue is whenever I flash a new ROM on System1 i.e. where AOKP is at the present - Post that Miui doesn't boot - It would be stuck at MI Logo.
So again I need to flash Miui5 as well which is pretty irritating. If I am not doing anything to System2 then why after any install on System1 affects it - Any Clue Mate - Thanks in Advance :good::good:
My Antutu score in performance mode...way better than balance mode who scored only 26500 and also better than miui v6 which scored 35600...
Just a quick note on reboot issue...whenever I put in my pant pocket and take it after a longtime it reboots...other than that I didn't had reboot issue..
Great ROM...
Hey watchout.... happy to see u on mi3 thread
btw i have created an mi forum.....check it out and letme know if you want to edit something

Short Note:
The Current New update (14.12.2018) is completely based on new Oreo firmware from Xiaomi , This has improved a performance up to a certain good mark , So I hope you like this. But the thing you should remember that all the older builds till now were made from modified old firmware of nougat, And for this thing if you wish to go back to some old ROMs then in those build Finger Print sensor may give some issue So to fix it you have to flash the complete Miui stable Nougat ROM again , Also you have one more choice is that you have now three ROMs built with new firmware I.e.
• Resurrection Remix Official
• AospExtened Unofficial
• Viper OS official
• Pe official #Coming soon
All other ROMs are also being updated during this time so you can now interchange between these ROMs if you want
But there is also a benefit that if you can compromise with Fingerprint then now all the Oreo roms available will have dual 4G Volte support.
I hope you like it

Thanks for the work!
Nice rom, works very well, at the moment I have only found a problem, which is recurrent in several Oreo roms, for some reason using headphones is heard louder on the left side.
In other roms I have solved this problem by flashing thunderstorm kernel, but I do not know what it really is.

Actually the thing is the sources or Oreo is 99% stable tho to make 100% the devs to work on few other thing that's seem unnoticed
Once done then only we can say that we have fully stable oreo
Thanks for the rom really like it. I'm only experiencing some issue with camera when taking video. It says "Cannot Connect to Camera".
Is there anyway to change default camera to use gcam if I install it via apk?

I have tested there is no cannot connect to camera issue in stock cam everything works pretty good and in case of gcam you can install the apk but I don't think there is no non root method to set it as default
But you can anyways try it via recovery by putting the camera.apk in vendor/gcam

Does anybody eye have a bug where the fingerprint stops working randomly but is easily reset by manually turning the screen on by tapping the power button?
Also where is the setting to turn the flashlight on by holding the power button while screen is off?

Bro that's weird I never faced that bug even no one reported that till now
I think you should try reinstalling it and confirm if it's your device issue or rom issue
That's the weird thing, I already reinstalled the ROM because it was happening. When it started originally I flashed the thunderstorm kernel and wiped the caches and when I rebooted I had lost the fingerprint entirely, so I had to reflash the ROM to get it back.
Amazing Rom
Amazing Rom so far no bug encounter. Kudos to Dev Team. :good::good::good::good:
I did a clean flash of everything including the thunderstorm kernel and everything is working fine...... Except for the same fingerprint issue.

I installed the rom with gapps but it reboots to recovery and if flash without gapps it boots succesfully. Tried with different twrp recoveries facing same problem
Try a different gapps

Thank you!
I just want to say thanks for supporting our device with this great Rom. I already tested the unofficial version. I discovered no single bug, the rom runs fluent and the battery life is excellent. I already use it the third day without charging.
Of course it has minimal customisation options, compared to other roms. But sometimes less is more.

The notifications, settings, contacts, dialer, clock, ... stay light. You'll only get dark quick settings, power and volume menu. For me that's enough. The apps I mainly use (or see on the screen) have their own theme. I like the dark quick settings in combination with the light notifications. They are much more readable.

Enjoy ????
i like this rom. any suggestion for gcam that works perfect with this rom?
I use OpenCamera. It makes better pictures (saturation, light and color balance) and is absolutely reliable. But it has less features.
really smooth, but i cant change the device theme, it stays white, even when i choose night, or automatic (wallpaper based)

That is the default dark mode bro. only selected sections become dark. You can use substratum instead if you wanted more; it wouldn't affect the performance, anyway.

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

I'm having issues with a german SIM card which is noch recognized correctly. It's switching from recognized to not regognized within a second. Tried a different ROM where it worked so I suppose it's not caused by a hardware issue.
This ROM is really nice, you did a good job here. I hope the problem is fixable so I can use it.

It's possible to flash starting from another custom rom (lineage 18.1 stock a11 vendor) or is better reflash stock and after your rom?

You can flash it from any rom but if you are coming from MIUI it's recommend to go stock first
Hi, any chance you're planning to include in-system ota update option in this ROM ?
cuz this is probably the only deal breaker for me...
here's an issue i found in less than 24 hours of using this ROM: I can't change the number of QS tiles rows on landscape, no matter what i set it, it stays on 3...
also btw the fingerprint could use some improvement...

The OTA was dropped from the rom this build , It was broken so till OTA is integrated with source again we should live with that
A suggestion... The costumizations are very cool... But the system result a little bit heavy. In particular to load the system. I think using full gapps is not a good idea... Because they slow down the system... And you have to optimize your kernel setting to support all your customization. You have made an incredible systemui, but (is only my opinion), now you have to look at performance. Nice work man

I tried nezuko. It's stable and battery performance is aligned to other custom rom bugless. I preferere roms with less ui mods...but it's only my opinion. This rom is good. if want to try, it's a good choice for me
