Recommended Magisk Modules for 3/32 Xiaomi RN7 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hi. I've recently purchased Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 3/32. Rooted it yesterday. What are the best recommended magisk modules to install? Thank you so much.

microG Installer Revived - easy microG installation, for compatibility with GSF apps without the use of Google's malicious proprietary software
Riru Core & EdXposed - Well, Xposed..
(Riru Core & EdXposed) => Screenshot Delay Remover - for instant screenshots once you pressed the buttons. Technically an xposed module...
Immersive Gestural Navigation Bar (Q) - Just looks way nicer than the default. (Useful only when using gestural navigation)

- Universal GMS Doze, will save your battery
- Debloater, to remove bloat app
- JThermodV4_for_Lavender, if you are a gamer

Would you please let me know where I can find the JThermodV4? I can't seem to find it on magisk itself. Thanks!

You must have installed other modules, probably my deep_buffer Remover because this module does NOT touch your bluetooth settings. This module is simply a framework for other modules to utilize and edit audio policy and audio effect files on your system.

Don't know what to tell you man. All this mod does is copy certain configs to a magisk directory and then magisk symlink them to your system.
The only thing I can think is that you have a boot.img compatibility issue with magisk.
Good news guys. I finally found a fix for AM3D and Dolby Atmos to work 100% in enforcing on both MagiskSU/SuperSU, Magisk OR System install.
This will be available in the AudModLib v1.3 update I will be pushing soon. I'll obviously fix any more bugs or make any other additions in the meantime.

So this won't be an app, this will be as part of the script. It essentially makes a few things permissive and allows the appropriate things to be activated, those that effect AM3D and Atmos.
Hi. Thanks for the mod. If I download and install through magisk or even download through magisk I get installation error. Doesn't say why. I'm on Z5C Nougat and fully rooted. Thanks Kam

@mvarejao You should probably do a whole lot of reading before continuing.
Go to your device forums. You'll most likely find a lot of useful information there, among other things threads like this (where you'll find lots of resources and reading material): https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/xiaomi-redmi-note-3-sticky-roll-t3528728

Well, I'm officially getting old I guess...
Was hoping to see if root cloak works and I see that hasn't been supported for a while. So, I went ahead and uninstalled using the uninstaller.zip arm64 for sdk 24, most recent version.
Anyone wondering;
Uninstalling, for me, went just as easy as installing.
Sounds like everything, for 7.0+ is still in beta/testing by rovo so do all this at your own risk.

I don't see the point in uninstalling because root clock doesn't work though, eitherway you can't use Knox or SafetyNet so might as well have Xposed.
Also there is another module called No Device Check which lets you use simpler apps like Snapchat, Mario Run, Pokemon GO etc... no Android Pay though.

I got this to work. I installed the framework via Magisk, and then I used the Xposed APK installer found in the Magisk thread.
It installs fine through Magisk on the XL 2, just make sure you have the correct Xposed Installer version installed before you install Xposed through Magisk.

The one in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
It's installed and says it's active, but also says it's not compatible with the architecture. I can enable modules, but none of the few I have right now I've really tested, so I'm not sure if they're actually working.

If you installed systemless xposed then you need the material xposed to be working if i am not wrong

Well, I'll get things started and say that "Lockscreen Mods" seems to kind of work; I'm just unable to set custom icons. Double tap to sleep on the lockscreen does work.
X Screen Stabilizer also appears to work just fine.
Does anyone know if the SnapTools Xposed module works? I haven't had a chance to even set my 2 XL up just yet otherwise I would have tested myself.

The description for the Xposed Magisk module said to install topjohnwu's specific modified version of the material installer:
Please install my modified XposedInstaller(3.1.4) to properly detect Systemless Xposed. The APK is signed by my personal key, you might need to uninstall other versions before installing mine.

It seems that if you install Xposed before installing this APK, it won't detect Xposed properly, but installing the APK before installing Xposed seems to work.
This is only if you're installing through Magisk, as I haven't tried installing it conventionally through TWRP.
I was able to install by installing the xposed app then letting the app download and install the framework.

What steps did you take to get it working? I haven't used it before, so it could very well just be user error. I'd like to confirm if it does work.

[Magisk] [v15.X] The modules I use to make the quality of life better.

Note: this IS NOT a Q&A. This is a general thread that I am posting to share my setup of Magisk, that further improves the quality of life for us Nexus 5X users.
Also Note: this IS however, universal. Should you want to use this set up or any modules linked below, please go ahead. And thank the developers of these modules respectively.
I would have posted all of this in my signature, however, that breaks the length limit. So it's not possible.
Below are several modules that I use that make the phone better, NO MATTER THE ROM.
All the modules are simply being referred to the OP uploaded below. I don't want to break any rules, I just want to share the fun. The Magisk forum is a cluttered mess. Make sure you find the OP and thank them, I DID NOT MAKE THESE. All rights to those accountable. I don't want to break any rules, I just want to share the fun.
Without further ado, here is the list. *note: more will be added once I deem them good*

Stock with mods [opinion]

Don't get me wrong there are some good ROMS around from time to time but there's also something to be said about stock rooted with mods. Sure it might take more time but you'll also get guaranteed updates until EOL. You can add or remove as much as you want. I appreciate those who still make ROMs for this device. Just wanted to share my two cents and what I'm using for anyone curious..
ROM: Stock
Root: Magisk
Recovery: TWRP
Magisk Modules:
App Systemizer
BusyBox
F-droid privileged ext
iOS 12.1 emojis
Mm recovery mode
RIRU core/exposed (sandhook)
System accent colors for p
Viper4android fx legacy materialized
YouTube vanced
Systemless hosts
Substratum
EdExposed apps:
Gravity box
Gravitybox mods:
Volume button media control
Screen off Torch power button
Network traffic indicators
.. much much more
And of course your favorite root apps:
Adaway (w/ Steven black list)
VPN hotspot (f-droid)
Afwall+
Substratum themes
ExKernel manager w/ latest kernel.
Anyways just trying to start a friendly conversation, feel free to share your setup!
That's a nice setup you got there. Mine is much more vanilla:
Q beta 5
Magisk stable
ElementalX kernel
AdAway
Battery Charge Limit
AOD enabled through Substratum
Tasker set up to turn off AOD when there are no notifications/media active
If I may ask, are you able to pass SafetyNet and use Google Pay with Xposed installed? Does the kernel-level patch override Xposed as well?
Thanks
I used to have this setup:
- ROM: stock Pie
- Root: latest Magisk
- Recovery: TWRP
- Kernel: Franco Kernel
Magisk modules:
- Busybox
- Systemless debloater
- LKT
- Quickswitch
- Viper4android
- AOD enabler
- Youtube Vanced
- Volume steps increaser
- Product Sans systemless font
Useful root apps:
- Adaway
- Titanium Backup
- Substratum + themes
- Tasker (listed here because of root tasks)
My phone was amazing. It's been like 3 years like this. Then I wanted to try something new, so as of now I've installed the EvolutionX 2.0 ROM, which is pixel experience based and has some of those features I listed above built-in.
So far so good, great performance and good battery life. Let's see how it goes. I might go back to Q when the stable build comes out, and I may keep stock again with those mods.
P.S. for @Flipz77: I also tried EdXposed before, and it doesn't break safetynet. Just realized that I don't really need it if using magisk modules + tasker, also performance are worse for me with EdXposed installed.

To my knowledge Google pay hasn't worked for anyone for a while since they started flagging modified boot loaders. Even just vanilla Magisk breaks it. So no, won't work for anything but stock iirc. Otherwise yeah still passes safety net for other checks.

I think the ultimate fix is running a custom kernel that includes the safetynet patch.
GPay has always been working for me ever since., both on ElementalX and Kirisakura
As long as I stayed on stock kernel, no amount of fiddling around with Magisk helped.
