so do bolt Roms work on 10 evo and vise verse (10 evo roms -> bolt)? because i have a 10 evo that i wanna use as a mess around device.
There's not much support for this phone, I'm selling mine in favour of an HTC One M9 or M8, both have much better dev support and choice of ROMs and kernels.

Just want to say a massive thankyou to all the chefs and developers here at XDA, for making my touch HD experience so much greater than it could have been, particulalry to kwbr for his Topix ROMS.
Ive had my HD for 18 months now, and been a serial ROM flasher, but have now jumped ship to android (htc desire). I have loved messing with my HD, but i now need something that is just going to work out the box, and wont take up my weekends tweaking!
its great to see the HD community is still going strong
so long for now....maybe i'll be back for wm7....
Thanks for your parting recommendations on ROMS for the HD gnarlytom. My contract is also up for my trusty HD and trying my hardest to be patient, what with all that is coming out this year (andriod 2.2, WM7, iPhone 4, etc). I am very close to getting the Desire, though would have preferred a slightly larger screen. Please let us know how you get on with the Desire given your experience with the excellent HD.
Hello Ppl,
I havent manage to find a thread regarding this. M sorry if there exists one.
I ve been using mdeejay's, darkstones and mattc's builds and all of them where based on Desire.
Last week i ve decided to go with Revolution EVO (since he fixed 011 prob and numbers appear in the right format and it doesnt have any ads etc) from mdeejay and i ve got to say that it is by far faster, and more responsive than anything else i have tried.
I ve changed the kernel from hastarins 7.6 to latest (26/10/2010) git kernel with ported battery.
The screen rotate is almost done within a second
Lock unlock is much faster than desire's
Speed "feels" twice as fast as desire's
I ve used N1 builds in the past once or twice, but i miss the sense experience and i dont remember it being faster than desires.
Anyhow. I need your feedback.
What is your experience with it?
I've done pretty much the same as you, and I've got to say that the Evo version by mdeejay is simply amazing. It's the best version that I've used, stable and without issues.
one vote + for mdeejay's Evo - rEVOlution
for now, best rom, and best batt life near 2 days with 2g allways on and not very very intensive use..
-on op, i'm not a sense user but i liked the sharp wallpaper on mdeejays evo revo build + the smoothness of animations minus the drain in battery.
-desire, i didn't liked it.
-n1, i like cyanogenmod build for its customization.

Your choose is right . EVO Sense is the best as far as I know .
So what are the differences from a more technical reason?
What are the pro's and con's. Support, Hardware compat etc?
Sense versions. Is the desire sense newer?
If only it supported rmnet.
Not being able to use the data connection I'm paying $30/mo for... worthless.

I'm not off contract.
excellent seems that everyone shares the same feelings about mdeejay's evo build.
hope that we will be able to flash it on nand.
I really dont use winmo the last two months. I flashed a blank winmo image, and didnt set anything, not even giving my pin to it anymore.
I m really looking forward for a flashed edition.
But i notice that all the evo build didn't support chinese handwriting in serach contact list
Maybe just in my case
+1 on Evo revo really nice.

+1 on Evo builds being the best (tmous here.)
When do you guys think a rom for stock android will come for these tablets im not a big fan of touchwiz and its hard to use without stock?
We need a recovery first, once that happens, if there is someone around here with the ability to create or port an AOSP or AOKP style rom, then we'll be in business. It doesn't help that the 7.0 has a completely different chipset than the 8.0/10.1 versions so that's just extra development that has to take place.

Don't worry, developers will provide us with custom rome and recoveries soon, especially from Germany I think (T-Mobile made an price error in their shop, and after some pressure about 10000 devices were shipped, for about 110 euros each :laugh
Stock android? Never. When have you ever heard of a phone thats not a nexus or google play edition running pure stock vanilla android? Never.
It happens all the time. "Stock" is subjective but one could argue AOSP/AOKP are very close to stock...
Hi guys !
I just wanted to share and reflect some thoughts....I have intention to complain and come off as ungreatful.
I´ve been around and flashing custm roms since about the launch of HTC Desire !
And I have stayed true to HTC with an occasional side step to Samsung S2...for a short while.
AFAIK remember with every lauch off HTC "flagship" models it usually doesn´t take long before the roms starts to pop up.
And after a couple of months or so there usallay are alot of roms to choose from. Bothe modified original ones and AOSP:ish ones.
But this time it seemse to me like there isn´t as many roms out as there usually are, by this time !
Is my memory failing me or has some thing changed ?
Is it harder to "****" roms for the M9 or has the interest in HTC models lowered ?
And again...I´m not here to complain...I´m very greatful to thoose who takes the time with the roms and when I finaly decide wich rom to use for my daly work I ALWAYS donate. I just want to share my reflections and thoughts...and see if anyone else feels the same.
(Excuse my poor english)

Well the top 5 or 6 HTC developers are here and that's what really matters. CM 12.1 is making progress and may be stable enough for daily use soon.
But yes the M9 is not selling anything like the M8 did and it shows. I believe many of the m8 owners just don't see the need to update this round. And it's a real shame, I sold my M8 for the M9 and have no regrets

thinking the same as you alot of people saying its not worth the upgrade from the m8 but it is better camera better processor more ram better ram fair enough screen is the same and design but the design is one of the best that's came out in the mobile world for years if its not broke don't fix it i my first android was the desire also loved htc for years had the m7 and still have the m8 aswell as the m9 had the s6 edge and standard s6 had to come back to htc lol if your a good enough dev you can blind build so not getting the 9 is not really an excuse to not develop for it
I'll be happy with cyanogen

9 copies of the same general rom don't really add much for me. Also with the themeing option in stock it kind of makes it a replacement for some.

It don't bother me to much. I'm happy with leedroid at the moment. It has been a great experience. I'd be happy if I can get SlimLP in the near future. That's been my go to rom for years and I miss it a lot. I have no regrets upgrading from M8
Personaly I didn´t jump on the M8 wagon...my M7 was good enough.
And as son as it was possible I did a GE conversion on the M7...and loved it !
I would love be able to run stock Android again on my M9
Having that said....HTC has come a long way with Sense 7 and finally started to listen to the user demands, and for now I´m happy with it !
ATM running MaximusHD 6.0.0 !
I'm a bit confused with these forums being bolt/10. Can HTC 10 roms be used on the Bolt?
The Bolt is exclusively for Sprint, All others will be HTC 10 Evo. And no you cannot use HTC 10 ROMs on the Bolt. Different software and Hardware.
