Hi
I have Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G531F with Stock Rom 5.1.1.
I would like to install a custom rom but I cannot install TWRP recovery first. I have read several guides but the main problem is that Odin does not recognize the device.
I connected the phone to the PC with Windows 10 x64: when I put the phone in download mode and click on start in Odin nothing happens (I loaded the file twrp-2.8.7.1-grandprimevelte.img.tar).
Samsung USB drivers are installed correctly (Kies is also installed).
Can you help me please?
Stefano

Hello to everybody, guys I have a problem!
I bought a samsung galaxy tab 4 SM-T530 with rom 4.4.2 (i live in EUROPE) and I used it with two different google profiles.
I don't know why but despite the amount of ram and the 4 core cpu, the tablet become useless, event the web surfing is a pain!!!
So I've decided to enter into the modding world and take away all that services that I don't need, installing a rom already cooked and I choose this:
[TW][5.02][SM-T53X]T530 ,T530NU LP deodex 4pda teamwork
First of all I have saved my personal data and started in this order:
1) Downloaded ODIN
2) Downloaded CF-Auto-Root from https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
I putted the device in download mode and after that I found the superSU app in the tablet
So i downloaded the AD Setup 1.4.2 to install the TWRP --> THE ONE MENTIONED IN THE ROM LINK ABOVE
But the command fastboot didn't recognize the device...
so i found a play store app: FLASHIFY
I putted the TWRP img files on the sd and I flashed the recovery.
After that I putted on the external SD the file .zip of the deodexed rom above but after flashing the tablet stuck on the SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 4 screen and doing nothing.
So I decided to open odin, choose the original .md5 file 4.4.2 for my device using the AP option and started the transfer.
It succedeed and I went back to 4.4.2, but how can I install the rom above?
What can I do?
I did all the steps well?
Help Me please!!!!
You have to use Odin to install an official lollipop firmware before you can install any custom roms

Could please tell me step by step because I did all of that and still nothing
Stock firmware install
You may have to use Kies3 emergency firmware recovery. Run as administrator. Install/open Kies3. plug in usb to computer, do not connect phone. select tools tab. Select Emergency Recovery and follow instructions. Good Luck
If that fails or phone not recognized, use the update/activate option in tools tab. This will put your phone on the latest firmware though, witch is 5.1.1
So i was going to install a custom ROM on my g530h via twrp, and im new to this

Hello,
My A40 phone is unlocked, rooted and has Magisk installed. Everything has been working fine for a year. Yesterday, I wanted to upgrade Twrp and after I flashed the latest Twrp image, I rebooted to the system, everything worked. Then I tried to reboot to recovery using the Twrp app and now my phone is stuck into boot loop, I doesn't t go further than the logo. I can t access Twrp or reboot to the system. I can t even turn of the device. I can only go to download mode, but the phone isn t detected with adb.
When I run `lsusb`:
Bus 001 Device 016: ID 04e8:685d Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd GT-I9100 Phone [Galaxy S II] (Download mode)
I used this repo to add the proper rules but my device is still not found by adb.
Any idea, what I can do to fix it? Thanks for your help.
I see, you have the same problem like me. But don't worry, I fixed that. Well... on my 2017 tablet. Maybe on your phone it will work too...
And I see, you can go to Download Mode and... I can help you... but say...
What Android version do you have? And what version of TWRP you flashed?

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I had Android 9 and I flashed TWRP 3.6. For the time being the phone is still stuck in boot loop.
Ok. I did some research and from what I think you need to install this version
twrp-3.4.0-0-a40.img.tar (because you are using Samsung Galaxy A40 and Android 9)
When you can't boot to system or to recovery, and you have BootLoop, you have to go to Download Mode and use ODIN.
Samsung Odin - Official Odin Download links
Samsung Odin, Official Odin Download links and flashing guides
samsungodin.com
EDIT: Use Odin 3.13.1 and Download Samsung USB Drivers from:
Again EDIT: Samsung USB Drivers can help with ADB, ODIN and more, I think.
Samsung Android USB Driver | Samsung Developers
You need the driver only if you are developing on Windows and want to connect a Samsung Android device to your development environment over USB.
developer.samsung.com
Click AP and click that .tar you downloaded and flash. After that, check if it works. If it recovery appears, but clicking recovery will not work, write.
And you may ask why this version? Well, because these versions are from Android Version. What is it about? This is, for example:
3.4.0-0 - Android 9
3.5.0-0 - Android 10
3.6.0-0 - Android 11
From what I think.
If this doesnt work, you have to find vbmeta and compress it to the tar flashable file, the you flah it the same way in odin, as you would flash twrp, i recommend this one since it have all the files: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-official-twrp-for-galaxy-a40-a405fn.4025587/
