Hello it is a pleasure to greet.
I have a serious problem, I was installing the latest update of your rom and my phone did not have enough charge.
It is dead, does not turn on, does not enter recovery mode or download.
My computer only recognizes it USB QDLOAD 90008.

Here is an unbrick.img that I made a while back and can be flashed to an external drive.

Follow the instructions here and it should be okay (fingers crossed) DO NOT FLASH THE FILE GIVEN IN THAT THREAD. That file is for j500h and will probably cause problems. Use the file I provided

it seems that something is damaged on the board.

Aww that sucks. I'm not sure what else there is you can try.
Looks like it's time to upgrade or you can replace the logic board for like 50 euro/dollars/pounds whatever your currency is but it doesn't seem worth it for a 5 year old budget device

I remember that my cell phone only turned off then did not turn on again
it's true, I think I should buy another one. I can tell you, that the files to put it in download mode works very well,
I check it with another J500M and on 4gb not required 16GB.
Edit...
Hi Againg
Last night I tried to revive from my laptop and today I tried again from my PC and it worked.
Can use 4GB Sd Card not necessary 16GB
My phone is alive again

Well, today I tried setting up ClockworksMod so I could easily backup and restore my phone as needed. (As previous work i had caused issues and it wouldnt reboot until i reinstalled the rom)
Well, clockworkmod recovery would not install through the app, so I installed the image through Odin, and that worked flawlessly. I was able to backup and restore.
After it booted back up I was unable to add a new google account or erase the old one. Factory resetting it would casue it to get stuck in the boot loop again, until i restored it or reflashed.
Eventually I tried flashing another image, with repartition turned on.
Well, without surprise Windows 7 semi crashed and killed Odin.
Now when my phone "turns on" all i see is black. Nothing happens. I cant do any of the 3 button combos to get into Recovery or Download mode
Can anybody help me? I need to get this working ASAP!
Thanks
Edit : I need to check my eyes. I thought you can get into download mode.
If you cannot get to download mode with the 3-button-combo then you'll need a jig.

You need a jig.
Uhm, why did you check repartition?
Also yes, you will need a jig. That's pretty much the only thing that can get you into download mode in this situation.

Yes I did, was that something I shouldn't have done?
It sat on repartitioning for about 15 minutes, then windoes said Odin stopped responding and it killed it :/
I've been telling everybody to stop using the .pit files and repartitioning the device for every flash as you're just increasing the possibilities of things going wrong but people don't seem to take notice. Sadly in your case something did go wrong. You only need to use the .pit files and repartition the device if you mess up your partition table.
Those guys at Samfirmware really need to stop telling people to repartition their device for every flash.

Thanks for the help
Once my Jig comes in, I'll let you all know how it goes!
check if the phone heatens up extremely as soon as you put the battery in. if yes, thats a really bad sign.
a jig will only help you if you see anything on the screen. if the phone/screen doesn't react to ANYTHING, that's a full brick (happened to me too, jig didn't help, nothing helped, phone was completely dead and i had to send it in. fortunately, they repaired it within warranty).

See, this is what I was trying to say! I read everywhere that if somethign is on the screen the Jig will work, otherwise it wont. Others are replying to me here saying it should still work for me
I'm not too worried about it. I have 4 of the phones. I work closely with Samsung and they were given to me. It would still be nice if it recovers, so we will see!
i guess in situations where it was reported to work under these conditions the owners didnt fully exploit all different possibilites to get it back on and so they just came up with this false assumption.
nonetheless, it's worth a try. at least, the jig is pretty useful to remove the yellow exklamation mark and to reset the flash counter .

to be precise, it's the "custom binary counter" which counts up as soon as you flash something modified manually on your phone. has nothing to do with your problem, though.
We need to find the way to boot the device externally, i.e. bootloader on ext. SDCard or the likes....
Hi guys,
I am trying to re-root as Tab needs to go in to be fixed. I copied across my nandroid backup and then tried to restore it but the MD5 checksum failed :-( I had already done a factory reset and format of system and am now stuck at the Samsung Logo. I can't mount the USB storage to copy over a different ROM to get it back up and running again. I have tried to mount USB storage in CWM 4.0.4 and 5.0.2.3 but keep getting "E:Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)".
Is the Tablet bricked? Is there a way out of this?
Help appreciated as am getting worried....
M
I was able to access my SDcard from recovery using Droid Explorer (google it):
1. do not connect Tab to PC
2. start Droid Explorer on PC
3. On your Tab in CWM: mounts and storage > mount system, data, efs (I don't know if all this is necessary, but It's what I did), mount USB storage
4. Connect Tab to PC, hit refresh icon in Droid Explorer
Now you should be able to access SDcard in Droid Explorer. You can only transfer individual files though, so any folder structures must be done manually.
Failing that, if you can get into download mode:
If you can get into download mode (which you should be able to), you can just use Odin to flash a new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167250
The ASIAN ROM (Sept.) is the most recent (don't worry it defaults to English). Also, this will wipe your SDcard, but will get everything back to working order.
Thanks SO much for getting in touch, much appreciated! Well Droid Explorer is not working......I can connect via Odin though (thank God!). How exactly do I flash a ROM with it mate? Only ever done recoveries before....
Cheers,
M

Watch the first 2-3 mins of this video to see how to operate ODIN. In the video the guy is trying to root his tab, whereas you are trying to go back to stock rom. So the bit where he chooses the pda from his zip file, you just substitute that with the pda and csc from the asian rom file using the link in the post above me.

You need to use a ROM that is specifically flash-able in Odin. Pretty much just follow the directions in the link and you should be good to go.
After that, you'll need to re-install CWM, but once you're done that, you can flash whatever ROM you want just like you're used to.

dpakrr, you are a LEGEND! I was able to get back to stock thanks to you after I thought I was screwed! I had to send the Tab back today for repair to Samsung as it is not being recognised at all by any PC I hook it up too. Not being recognised by Kies either.....you think it's a hardware fault?? I have tried three different PC's with three different OS's on them!
I flashed the stock ROM using Odin back onto it before sending it, will they be able to tell it was rooted? I noticed a flash counter on the Odin screen so wonder will that now be + 1?? I checked and Clockworkmod Recovery was gone, all that was there was the stock recovery.....

your welcome mate. im going to limerick for 3.5 months this friday and i love guinness beer so consider that a thank you to the irish lol.
hm well if you have followed the basic guidelines like turning usb debugging off, installing kies and reinstalling samsung mobile drivers and the samsung customer service has no idea whats going on then there is definitely something wrong. so yes could be a hardware fault but just seems strange.
nah the stock rom is not rooted and as you said recovery is back to stock as well, thats all the samsung guys should be worried about. dont think they'll care too much about odin flash counter etc. they will just have a look at the os on your tab and its now stock, so should be fine.

Phew Thanks for all the help man, so many good people here on XDA! I was just thinking that the machine sees the Tab when in ODIN mode but why not in Windows mode? What is the difference? Are low low level hardware drivers used for ODIN that Windows does not have access too?

yes that is it mate. thats what i think it is, odin's got low level drivers which the OS doesnt. thats why I thought the samsung mobile drivers might help the OS identify the tab as well but that didnt work for u either did it. so the tab is probably faulty.

It probably is a brick. Pull your your battery for at least 10 minutes and try again. Still not sure where it is saying bulk folder.

Okay, I will get back to you on that in around 15-20 minutes. And it does not have a bulk folder anywhere, what happens is an alert pops up on bottom of screen saying "driver not successfully installed" and when I click to check the driver it says QHSUSB_BULK where it should say Galaxy s5. Hopefully you understand, as I want to fix my phone.

Try charging it. If it doesn't even feel warm it is a hard brick.

Hey everyone this is mine first thread so yeah plz forgive me if I accedently broke any rules
So if Ur having problems like Ur device keeps on restarting and freezing or getting stuck or not booting maybe it's an sign of infamous emmc chip failing but thiers an temprory fix for it just follow the following steps again not 100% sure if it will work but there's still hope
Note: this won't work if u tinkered with Ur boot.img or Android system that's an software issue reflash the original stock rom via Odin and Ur good to go .
STEPS:
1. Power off Ur device
2. Remove all the accessories like SIM cards memory card battery and all.
3 wrap the phone with no accessories on an polithin or any thing which doesn't allow vapour or water get in ... Can't have Ur phone wet right ...
4 now put the phone wrapped inside polithin of paper or whatever inside refrigerator for upto 3 minutes
5 now after 5 min take the phone out of refrigerator and then undo the wrapping .
6 let it dry
7 try booting it by inserting only battery don't put Ur SIM cards yet ....
8 does it boot ? If yes congrats ? if no ? Try other threads on Xda maybe they can help
