I decided to update my firmware from "S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2" to "S5360_XXMC2_OXXMC2_XXMC2" since that ROM is old & laggy in my opinion.After the installation, everything was OK.When I installed merruk kernel (I also tried installing hellfusion 50 etc.), I kept getting 'not registered on network' error.This didn't happen with my old ROM.I don't know if it happens after a reboot or after installing kernels.
Also I could receive messages from my carrier at first boot (where you register google account etc.)
Im from turkey and I also tried installing latest turkey firmware, got the same ****.
I don't know if its a common problem with our phones, but I couldn't find anything useful on this forum and when I google this problem I usually find unsolved problems or galaxy s2 - s3 network breaking.
Solutions I tried so far :
Re-flashing CSC & modem in odin after kernel installation
Taking simcard off and rebooting, turning the phone off and inserting simcard, rebooting (this worked for SGS2 users, not for me though)
My simcard is 64 KB, my carrier is avea, i also experienced this problem with MB1 etc., can it be because of my simcard?
Could anyone suggest me a ROM that would work in my country - Turkey?
Are you sure you're flashing the right CSC?

I'm using S5-G900F, its a Hongkong version, and I'm currently in UK with giffgaff. last month I tried few new rom and then I can't use voice service any more. However I still have internet. Some detail below:
APN
1. I 100% sure its not an APN problem
IMEI
1. IMEI seems ok, start 4 digit 3524****
SIM card related
1. At first I assume it's a SIM card related problem, I tried 2 SIM with different ISP, neither work.
2. Also, I put those 2 SIM on my iphone4 to verify that the SIM is good, and both card work.
3. I also checked the SIM card cable, I put one piece of paper above the SIM to tight the contact, still doesn't work.
Phone related
1. Before I brought the phone, I had check the bands it supports, and it is capable to used here. And the phone work perfect (well, with stock firmware its really slow) before everything happen.
2. Since I brought this phone in HK and now I'm in UK, I tried to flash both latest UK and HK firmware (lollipop), neither work.
3. I also tried only flash baseband from that two firmware plus one old-version baseband. none work.
4. For those flash mentioned above, I do full wipe.
Rom
The rom I tried list below (in time sequence)
1. XtreStoLite (the BL/baseband is extract from Brazil stock firmware. After that problem occur, but I didn't realize)
2. CM12 (this two are all from this forum)
3. TGY-G900FZHU1BOA1-20150120092320 (HK stock firmware, 5.0. Try to recovery the voice)
4. BTU-G900FXXU1BOB7-20150223084756 (UK stock firmware, 5.0. Still trying)
5. Also 2 baseband/BL from XtreStoLite thread (Another is an old-version. Still).
So now for everyday, I had to carry two phone... one just to make sure I don miss any call.... I have tried and still no clue... really need some help here.... Help please...

Was the phone service working for you before you tried a new ROM?
I have the same issue. Can't make or recieve calls. Internet is working though.
When you try to call someone, do you get 'call ended' message almost immediately after dialing out?
Also, when you go to phone / settings / additional settings (or more settings) - does the 'network or sim card error' pop up?
Can't figure this out... Hopefully someone would be able to point us to right direction, other than to replace it
And of course I did a factory reset, new roms, modems, everything there is to try. nothing helped
could it be because of Region Locking? Maybe it's locked again after flashing?. I want to buy this phone but I am not sure if it will get region locked again after it gets updated or custom flashed.

Yes, before I flash those ROM everything goes well. I'm currently using CM12 so I don't have the setting you mention. But anyway I never seen that pop message before. I guess the SIM card work good as the phone can connect to the internet (not wifi, cellular internet).
Hey guys, i was wondering if i can flash firmware from other carrier without bricking?
I bought my phone last year locked to carrier, and I unlocked it using doctorSIM service. Phone itself works fine, and as I'm not living in country that i bought my phone from originally, phone gives a message "No SIM card installed" sometimes once a week, sometimes several times a day and i need to remove SIM card or to restart phone to make SIM card work again.
Please note:
- SIM Card from my original carrier (from one that I bought my phone from) works PERFECTLY fine
- My other SIM card (that my phone constantly rejects) works in other phones just fine
- I have tried to reset the phone, and carrier bloatware constantly keeps installing
- EDIT: Wi-Fi and 4G are working PERFECTLY fine
What to do? Any ideas?

R u rooted? Have you considered flashing a CSC packet for your location?
I have a 930S, and works fine with the Korean ROM/Chinese language here in the US, on ATT service.
I have flashed the ATT, XAA and TMB CSC sets, and though the phone worked, and loaded the correct USA carrier info, I lost the phone code ability, which I could not solve.
In the end I went back to the original Korean ROM and it's CSC packet. Interestingly, though it works perfectly here in the U.S., and I can use/input phone codes, it still shows Chinese cities for my 'Region", none of which I have selected. When I do a search for local towers, it locates and correctly identifies AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. I select ATT. The Chinese cities remain in the region selection, none selected.
Wait and see if someone knows if CSC (Exynos or US based CPU) are interchangeable. I used CSC packets from a universal ROM setup (non-USA).

I'm not rooted, as I use Samsung Pay and have more than one year of warranty left. I will try flashing CSC of the current country I'm in (Austria). Thanks for taking time and writing all this, this problem is unbearable

My s7 edge is in trouble, it freezes sometimes, and sometimes it gets a full screen of pixel color flaws, with that problem my root smartphone works two weeks. Sometimes this error occurs in the ROM installation process, I insist on the installation until I can. I tried to install superman rom and due to this problem, the smartphone in the screen of death "exception of bootloader" (But it's already been resolved)...
When searching the internet, I saw that this could have a problem in flash memory.
After all history, I ask;
I could use a twrp file system repair function to try to solve this problem? And how to proceed?

I am, by far, not educated up on TWRP, so I'm not sure what you mean by "repair", other than making sure your data partition is formatted so it does not cause the issues you are talking about.

Hi to all!
I have an SM-G935FD Galaxy S7 edge phone from Malaysia. I have it in Greece and as soon as I got it in my hands I let it go all the updates until Android 8. Since then I can't make or receive any calls and sometimes it recognize my sim card (Cosmote) and sometimes it doesn't. Even the times that recognize my network operator I still can't make or receive calls. And of course I don't have any data.
What I have done:
1. Flashed original Malaysian and Indonesian firmware with no luck
2. Activated and deactivated volte
3. Tried different sim card
4. Flashed original Greek firmware (which I thought it would solve my problem but nothing). At root files it has all the network operators enebled as normal.
5. Tried several custom ROMs from Android 7 to 10. The only one that had some result was Floyd 10. The result was that for a minute I had data and couple of sms came from missed calls. But then again nothing. And since the first time I installed it, when I reinstalled Floyd not even for a minute.
6. Tampered customer.xml file for csc folder as a friend from Floyd rom thread suggested but still nothing
7. With a different sim from different provider I have data almost all the time but no calls at all
I'm officially out of options except that it is a hardware problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

i tried to flash another rom(Corvus Os) and it's still the same, I can't neither receive calls or messages, neither call or send messages

i came back to miui, i Think its the latest versión, but still no getting service, thought i used OrangeFox, its necessary Pc ? i installed the lastest firmware too
but i didnt it on Pc so idk, but now its not even detecting de SIM, atleast in the custom roms it was appering

Test to flash with mi flash tool the fastboot rom on windows. I think to flash the fastboot rom will help.

On my Galaxy S5 using LineageOS17.1 I had the same problem and I did flashed the StockROM of Galaxy S5 and I got all of the Services back like APN Settings or Mobile Data.
So try reflashing the StockROM

okay, i'm back i clean flashed the fastboot ROM and nothing changed sadly
While in the starting this happened, it was asking me to insert SIM, it was already in but I reinserted it, and then an error appear "com.android.phone keeps failing"

Maybe your SIM card connector is damaged.
did you put in already a other card or put your main card into another phone.

I tried another sims but still nothing, and these aren't broken or something, tho I'm seeing that Miui 12 has already the problem about non detecting SIM, Soo.. I'll try Fastboot ROM Miui 11 Android 9
Okay, i solved it, tho im a newbie, there was some videos about how to fix it, the first step is flash the stock rom / not the miui 12 one for me, it has problems with detecting chips in some telecom companies like Claro or Telcel, wich mine was Telcel, so i flashed the fastboot rom ( miui 11 android 9) , and at this point, it wasnt detecting the chip still, but somehow i could recieve calls and everything, but now being in miui 11, the 2nd step is restore de cqn file, im not gonna post it but ill give the video where i got it, but with the programs and all that, you can restore de qcn file via diag, thats all, there some videos about how to pass to miui 12 without these problems but idk, heres the videos
