i used MSM tool with smt mode and now i am having missing efs partition... I somehow managed to write imei but still no signal on device looks like baseband or kinda related issue ...
Please someone help me to fix this or make a backup of efs partiton...i dont wanna to loose this phone please help me out
You have to use own EFS/modem backup if you use SMT mode. Backup from other device doesn't work with yours. I had Oneplus with same issue. EFS backup was broken and only way to fix was to replace motherboard. Oneplus price for 8GB/128GB is about 300$, but I found broken device for 80$ and replace motherboard by myself.

Hello guys, I need a lot of help was messing on the Internet from my Galaxy S5 G900M when he crashed and got warm,
I removed the battery called him but was no carrier signal after prsquisar discovered that my EFS is missing files:
.nv_core. bin
.nv_core.md5
.nv_data.bin
.nv_data.md5
.nv_state
I have little money when then pay for repairs to the box is in final plan at the time,
I researched many posts with repair attempts here Forums new and others over the Internet to 3 full days without success, what do you think is like me rebuild these 5 files on my device?
vi whose other older models (Galaxy S4) with a program, only it does not support my model!
Obs:
My S5 was before the problem with the Rom xXx No Limits 5.7 + Boeffla kernel + Root
I've tried to go back to several versions of the stock roms and did not work!
Thank you guys
I also have the same problem with my G900M
It would be very good for someone we help.
My friend, any progress tell me.
i dont want to bother or anythin, but for u to recover the efs file is more or less impossible.... the only way would be if u would have made a efs partition backup trough twrp, since i bet u didnt made one, ur phone is now more or less just a tablet with no usable phone stuff
Hope this helps! Best of luck

I have SM-G900F and in efs partition I don't have this files above too, but i have IMEI in phone and it works good. I think the Galaxy S5 have a special version of efs partition. I can send you my dump of efs part. (efs.bin file, maked by dd in adb in console on PC ) if you want. You can send me your dump of efs to compare this. It is surprise for me why I dont have the folder "sec_efs" like you.

Hi there. I tries to restore my efs backup after flashing stock ROM,but didn't knew the backup itself was corrupt and my phone has no network, no imei and unknown baseband.
Hello everybody,
What can I do if my Axon 7 has lost the IMEI by restoring a backup through TWRP? My baseband version is unrecognized.
I have tried to save on this thread the mobile phone, but the problem "IMEI Changer" does not recognize DIAG port.
Windows only shows:
Sry for my bad english. I use Google Translate.
I hate to say this, but you're out of luck. If you restored your EFS partition via a bad version of TWRP, you're stuck. Send it back to ZTE.

Damn and I was hoping through the program IMEI Changer could save the phone ...
I have the A2017G model and the bootloader has been unlocked. The device was bought at Amazon in Germany. Is it possible to send the device to the manufacturer because of the warranty?

I encountered the exact issue you told me. I restored a TWRP backup that I had made through a faulty TWRP version and it made me lose my IMEI and baseband. Tried just about anything. Nothing worked.
Restored everything to stock, reflashed stock recovery and locked bootloader and sent it back. Got a new one, only had to pay the shipping costs of my device to Germany. I hope you're as lucky as I have been. Thumbs up.

Folks need to stop messing with the EFS partition. The only things you should be backing up with twrp is boot, system, and data. Nothing else.
Have you tried the zadig tool?
http://zadig.akeo.ie
Also, I've found this Qualcomm Driver to always work for me in the past. Surprising. It's the ONLY one that could help my device get detected by certain tools.
I uploaded it to my AFH for safekeeping: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634746189
If you haven't tried any of this yet, just give it a whirl. I used the IMEI tool to rewrite my IMEI when I accidentally wiped it, and it was perfect.
My imei is shown as unknow i have a US phone but its working fine so i dont really pay much atention to it lol, but i will try the app kwesi posted to see if i can get it working
Google will not admit this but there were major security flaws in factory images before jan,2017.
Read for yourself below article.
Link: https://www.google.com/amp/www.tech...d-nexus-6-patch-fixes-modem-vulnerability.htm
They patched it in Jan. But effected users like us(who got effected on 2016) got proper fu***.
The result : NO SERVICE but detects sim card.
Kindly.....Plz....plz...plz....make a copy of your efs and provide it in this thread. Please also mention what factory image/build number u are using.
No one will give you his EFS backup because its unique for each phone..so you cant use someone else EFS on your phone...

Really?? Thats a big news for me its no problem do i know him or not.. How can you use someone else EFS/IMEI.. it would be 2 phones with same IMEI number..maybe it will work, but its like you use someone else ID card and present it like its yours..

Hey,
When the IMEI is corrupted on the software side, it still shows up using:
fastboot getvar all
So the IMEI is somehow corrupted on the EFS partition. How, I don't know. Seems like the EFS acts like a bridge between hardware/software. Of course, I could be wrong...
Some have tried but didn't succeed. Now, it's not the first time I see someone using another EFS backup and getting his IMEI back. I don't know why it would get "their"" original IMEI instead of the one included in the EFS backup either. But i guess they must all lie saying it fixed their device.
Cheers...
I have restored EFS using a backup from someone else's device EFS. It did not change my original imei.

I'll share one soon for everyone here. I'm just a bit worried about security though as I don't know what happens and what data is stored in an efs backup.

Down do it. The efs is device dependent. It will contain things like your imei. So even if restored on another device it will end up causing issues due to the same imei on different devices. It can also make it so things like WiFi don't work

Okay thank you, I had no clue about efs so I'll take your word on it.
Guys can anyone share efs so that I can restore and save my phone..I Have no signal ispitevof detection sim card...it shows no service.. But when I use jio it shows full signal..kindly help..
I had similar problem with my OnePlus X. Apparently I was saving and restoring my efs partion with every twrp backup which eventually caused it to become currupt. Thought my phone was toast until a friend on telegram suggested deleting modem1 and modem2 files with adb commands. Sounded more destructive then good but it actually worked sim was reading again and got full use of my phone. It's good to make backup of efs but only once. Not sure if this is the fix for every phone but works with OnePlus and Xiaomi.
How to Fix EFS from Bootloader Mode using Fastboot commands
Setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
Enable Developer options & USB debugging on your Android device.
Connect your device to the PC and open a command window on the PC.
Issue the following commands one by one:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot
Got my information from here

Unless you have a Backup of your Modemst1 & Modemst2 somewhere there is nothing that you can do. Other than sending the phone to OnePlus for repair. That's the only way I'm afraid.

No. The IMEI is unique for every device. So the backup of another 6T won't work. I'm afraid you'll have to get the motherboard replaced.

Was using a this as a secondary phone and flashed it with MSM tool in SMT mode a while back. Fast forward to now, I need to use the phone again and realized that I am missing the IMEI. I don't have a backup, is there any way to restore it?
Unfortunately that is the one thing that is unique to your phone. If you don't have a backup, I believe you'll be in for a motherboard replacement unfortunately.
You can try flashing Color Os,i heard that is working for most of the people who had this problem

Where can I download it? Will I be able to back to other ROMs and keep the fix?
Forget that,i read that it can brick your phone for good,i will search for solutions, but you should try at oneplus support to see if they can help you.Or try to reflash with the MSM tool,or with Tool All in One from Mauronofrio
