Can anyone help me with working Gcam 7.3 for Samsung Note 9 Exynos Variant not rooted.
Tried couple of mods but not working at all. App crashes immediately after opening the App.
Thanks in Advance.
Running Android 10.
I have had no luck. A few packages have installed for me and opened, but the pictures it takes will only display as a gray screen. Most, like you, just crash.
The same problem here
The latest version from the zexynos Telegram group works well, way more natural looking results compared to stock cam. Install it, then create a Configs folder in the Gcam folder and put the xml file in there. Then open Gcam and double tap in black area below shutter button and then select the XML you put in the configs folder, tap restore. Then close Gcam, go to settings, apps, camera, force stop, clear cache, reopen GCam and you're good to go.

Mine is rooted, but I finally found one that kind of works. No "night sight" that I can find, but:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-port-hub/
Scroll down to Note 9 Exynos. Have to be able to install APK files.
The one at Zexynos Telegram group works well, designed specifically for S9 N9 S10 N10 Exynos.
Thanks. Already got one. It's an old version. But working.

Which one did you end up using?
The one I listed is old and apparently does not have Night Vision... probably missing other features, too.

I just created a thread about finding a stable GCam 7.3 version by jairo_rossi. I'm on the Snapdragon variant of the Note9 though, but I'm not rooted.
The version isn't perfect but for most of what I need, it works well and is stable enough as a main camera app. See if it works for you.

You might consider trying the modified CameraNext app. http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...eranextmod-t3086513/post60202401#post60202401
I quite like the stock OxygenOS camera app though. Good luck!
I'll give it a try thanks
Camera fv-5 (and cinema fv-5)is my all time favourite.
Stock Camera app is great to be honest. I quite like it.
Just use Camera 360....even has an awesome editor
Manual Camera is probably the most powerful

It doesn't look like it has a beauty filter, however, in the settings it does have a skintone enhancement switch.
I was using CameraNext which a lot of users on XDA seem to recommend. But, I noticed that the sharpness on the photos was turned up too high. This is good at times, but I found that my photos came out looking a bit grainy for my liking. I then discovered a modification of that called Snapdragon Camera which I have been using and like the best so far. It also has an option to output to a RAW format though I haven't tested it yet.

The one I tried was v2 from here, which installs but doesn't work.
The one you've just linked to is OK on the OnePlus 2/Oxygen OS 2.1.1 but not everything works and, once it's FC'd once, data for the app needs clearing to get it to work again.

Interesting, I am on the same ROM and not had any FC yet. But, as I mentioned I haven't exhaustively tested it. On the basic settings I prefer the output over stock camera and cameranext and haven't had any crashes yet.
I've read a lot about this phone lacking a good camera. I own a S6 and an S7, so I dumped the camera app from my Samsung phone as well as the frameworks required for the camera app to work.
I'm not sure if this will work because I don't have a OnePlus 3T phone on hand (I am planning on getting one though), so this hasn't been tested. These files are stock files and unmodified. From what I've read as long as the frameworks are available, the APK files should function, so if anyone would like to test these out and report back to let me know how it works I would appreciate it.
Recommendations:
Just to cover all bases, I do recommend everyone to make a backup of their system. This archive won't make any changes to your system outside of installing the stock samsung camera app, but I don't want to be responsible for any issues if something stops working for you.
I don't foresee anything causing any trouble because if this doesn't work, you can just uninstall it like any other app and remove the *jar files and everything should be fine.
Here are the steps:
1. Extract the archive file. (you should see a readme.txt, SamsungCamera4.apk, and a system folder)
2. Install the "SamsungCamera4.apk" file like any other app (Don't open it up yet after you install it)
3. In the system\framework folder of this archive, you will see a bunch of *.jar files. You need to move those into the .\system\framework folder on your phone. (These are required libraries for the APK to work properly)
You can do this using an app like "Root Browser", but you NEED to be rooted for this to work.
4. After you copy the jar files over, reboot your phone.
5. (Optional) When your phone powers back on, try and clear the cache for your camera app.
6. Try and run the Samsung Camera app on your phone.
I hope this will work out on this phone, because I would really like to see a better camera option for such a great phone!
Let me know what you find!
Extracted the apk and doesn't install.

I installed it as a system app because it can't be installed normally (package appears to be corrupted) and installed all frameworks with rw-r-r.
When I open the app, it flashes black for half a second and then closes
Dang, okay. Let me look into this and see what I can do. When you tried installing it as a regular app, did it say it's not compatible or anything came up?

I would like to be optimistic but if it was possible someone would have done it ages ago. You should be able to port from one Samsung to another as the frameworks are similar but you would need to build it from the source (i.e. build the app yourself from scratch) to have it working on Oneplus 3t and the source code is not open I believe.
You would have better chances at tweaking stock camera than porting Samsung's
Yeah, I might need to look into it a bit further. I was being optimistic and hopeful. I mean, I get that the hardware is specific to the device, but I don't see why a camera like Samsung's camera app couldn't be ported for all Android devices. After all Android is built off the same base platform.
Thanks for at least giving it a try. I think I will go and order my OnePlus 3T when I get home from work, then I'll be able to do more trial and error on my own as well!
Thanks for the attempts guys!

Good luck in testing this once you get your phone but I doubt that you'll be able to port Samsung camera to Oneplus 3t. I think better idea would be working on the stock camera and improving the algorithms and post processing there.
If you get stuck and need experts view on your ideas or help with the code ask the greatest camera developer defcomg for help as he with his expertise will be able to assist you where possible
Thanks! I was actually looking at some other apps in the playstore that are considered "high def camera" apps. I know that a lot of the quality in pictures is based on the hardware itself, however I also know that the software is what drives the hardware to work the way it works. I mean, granted the specs of the camera might not be the same as Samsung's, but a 16mp camera should be pretty darn good quality nonetheless.
Has anyone played around with any of the other camera apps?
I know someone here tried the stock android\google camera. What about one of these?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riseupgames.proshot2
I realize some of these are paid apps, and I'll look into it once my phone comes in as well. I definitely think there is opportunity for some optimization to make the camera a little better based off everyone's feedback about it.
This is a good initiative to improve the software side of the camera. I know sultanxda has his own hals in his ROMs but I find stock oxygen ROM to have better images and videos with less distortion.
All the luck for your attempt. If you're able to tidy up the algorithms ,it's gonna improve the camera for sure.
Crossing fingers.
That being said, what camera hal version is the sammy cam? But even if it´s the same, I belive you have to build a wrapper to shim the sammy function calls to the qcom camera hal... Good luck!
Propably logs (logcat and dmesg) from the crashing camera app would be usefull.
Bah, unfortunately it seems like I got ahead of myself. I did a little bit more looking into this, and it looks like the SamsungCamera app is actually using a custom SDK, so it doesn't follow the same practice your other universal apps use. Apparently SamsungCamera uses some more low-level technique that doesn't utilize HAL.
Hey Guy's
Have you tried Google Camera? You can get this on apkmirror.

Right, it's like I suggested in one of my previous posts. There seem to be a few high def camera apps available across all android platforms which might be a great alternative. I'm not sure, but it's worth a look and test.

Having tried numerous Google camera versions unfortunately none of them give us the same controls (no HDR+, burst mode which no one uses ) that would give to Nexus line users as this is limited to just Google phones. If HDR+ worked on Oneplus 3T it would give the results that Pixel users get and since Samsung camera app is no-go as expected I think working on Google camera app to unlock HDR+ that Google/Pixel phones get would probably be the only solution to improve the results on OP3T.
@m0d hipp¥ can you port or arrange samsung Gallery app for Oneplus 3T???
It will be a great help bro
Is it true that an app can make all the difference for picture quality? How good is the stock camera app that Ph-1 comes with? I'm not photo expert, so there may be a go-to camera app that everyone uses but I don't know about so I'm stuck using the generic stock one.
Thanks.

in low light the difference between the stock camera app IQ and one of the GCam ports (I use Arnova's V6) is quite noticeable, I use the stock app for monochrome shots, and the GCam port for everything else, as the IQ is just better.
I installed the very top/latest APK from that page (GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V7.9.apk) on this PH-1 running Android P beta and photos look pretty great. I'm comparing it with the camera app that came with the beta, and it's much better. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I tried the same and it is really great. Even with latest update, I was very disappointed with the burst mode of Stock Camera. Most of the shots came out blurry when taking moving objects like kids.
This one does a much better job. Pixel and One Plus 6 are very fast. They take 20 pics in 2 seconds. PH1 takes around 5-6 seconds.
I am yet to test anything else.
Every version of the gcam apk I have downloaded scans as malware. May be a false positive but is enough to keep me away.
I am wondering if any camera apps in the play store offer improvements?
@arsenal74 what are you scanning them with? Where are the dls from? Have you read the security statement on the site linked above?

I use Nvisio https://apkscan.nviso.be/ and also virus total. Scans as malware/pup
As is noted on the site. It's up to you but a pup is only highlighting something if you didn't put add it yourself.
Your scanner is full of Bull. I use Malwarebytes and no issues with gcam apks.
It is an online scanner that uses multiple services, for this file only 1 of the services flagged it as suspicious, go to the link above and try it on the apks that you have.
I have no idea what Babable PUP.HighConfidence means but it is enough for me to think twice about installing.

Well on my crusades of random youtube videos tonight custom of the pawn of video talking about g cam 7 and Astro photography. I don't know if anyone else would be interested in a newer g cam APK but I found one of the newest Google camera that works on our devices. My only suggestion to get rid of some green tint this to go into settings and change your viewfinder to the one beginning with YUV. Link posted to save y'all the trouble of going through the pop up process.

Also in advanced settings is where to turn on Astro photography. All modes seem to work, what I've listed is tweaks I've done. Hopefully I've helped someone upgrade their GCam because Lord knows I love to stay in top of things with what's probably the best camera app on Android ??? cheers. I went here to track what updates have appeared: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-urnyx05/#apk1625
Downloaded this release which was published on June 20 2020 https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.0.apk
It seems to work just fine. I have some use cases where I've been missing my Pixel .
One thing I do find annoying about this gcam is that motion photos are on by default, both versions I've installed have been in that mode and I had to disable it.
Has anybody found a decent GCAM that works on Exynos yet?
I am close to cutting my losses and selling my S20+ as I just cannot trust the camera but a decent GCAM could well save the day.
Sorry to say I don't think you'll have much look there. I tried all sorts of APKs that people previously tried on the S10 for example or Note10 but they didn't work, the best I got was a super old version of Gcam with no hdr+ or night sight and it would lock up after entering the menu. I saw some people on some of the S10 forums saying they'd had a little more success with an APK linked in the description of a YouTube video, but it was being hosted on a random individuals site different to everywhere I've got APKs from before so didn't trust it wasn't malware.

help me
ZGCAM can be found here https://koopahtmaniac.com/getLatest.php
It works really well on my Exynos Ultra. Installing hacked apks does make me slightly nervous still but I scanned it on virus total and meta defender pre-install and also ran bitdefender and Malware bytes for the first few days so I think ZGCAM is ok!
What would be really good now is if someone came up with a decent 7.2 or 7.3 version!

and what .xml are you using?
This is the one I was given by another member on here. Other than maybe very slight underexposing sometimes (maybe half a stop) the results are way better than the stock app. Samsuing really should hang their head in shame. Couple of examples attached taken a minute of so apart 1 is Gcam and the other stock on the ultra.
What would be really good would be a working 7.2 on Exynos
Does the xml also work for the normal S20 (Exynos) / Does anybode have an xml for the S20?
Zgcam only work on exynos s20?
