Hi,
I reverted back to stock rom via this. I can confirm the offiical TWRP is now replaced with stock rom recovery. I intend to relock the bootloader so that I can get FOTA updates. I tried "fastboot oem lock" command but it does not work(fastboot is latest version v29), it shows below error -
fastboot oem lock
FAILED (remote: 'unknown command')
fastboot: error: Command failed
After coming across few posts, it seems that you cannot relock bootloader that was unlocked via offical method!?, is that true? anyone who has unlocked bootloader via official method able to relock the bootloader successfully? Also, if relocking is impossible, can you still install updates manually?
Thanks in advance.

Unlocked officially means no more ota updates, however you can relock but that won't help in getting access to ota updates. Thankfully you can manually flash update files through recovery.
You can find steps to relock using fastboot rom on YouTube for our specific device.

Thank you, but how do I get the update files? Does clicking the "Check Now" under "Settings/System/System updates" download the latest update file? or do I get the update files from the asus website ? (they seem to not be updated frequently)

The updates are posted on the website with just a day or two delay. You can download the rom from there. And then reboot to recovery to install it.

Hi everyone,
I would like to know if is possible to dowgrande to a different country firmware (I'm not interested in the dual sim option). Anyone know if this is possible? I have a locked and non rooted moto x play. I've tried to follow this thread REMINDER HOW TO DOWNGRADE from 6.0 to 5.1.1, but the installation fail with this error:
(bootloader) Invalid signed image
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)

Yes, downgrading is possible with unlocked bootloader (locked bootloader doesn't allow downgrading). The first 2 commands ("fastboot flash partition gpt.bin" and "fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img") always fail when downgrading, and can be skipped without any issues, so if the error you got was for one of the first 2 commands just continue with the rest of the commands.

Thanks, I was start to supposing that the locked bootloader was the problem and you just confirmed. Unluckily right now I can't unlock the bootloader so I think I must wait for the release of the complete EU 6.0 Firmware.

In your post you mentioned "unlocked" so i assumed you had unlocked the bootloader already. I'm afraid that downgrading is only possible if you unlock the bootloader, or you can wait for EU 6.0 full stock ROM to become available and try installing that (it might work as you'll be going from 6.0 ROM to 6.0 ROM).

Ooops, sorry. It was a typo, I've just fixed it. Yes, right now I'm waiting for the release of EU 6.0 full stock rom and then I'm going to retry to flash it!

Have you tried what panart said, about skipping the first 2 fastboot commands ?
I also downgraded to 5.1 skipping the first 2 lines and it was working fine.Only I had an unlocked bootloader at that moment ,but maybe it wil also works with a locked bootloader, not sure.

Yes, I've tried both. With and without the first two commands (fastboot flash partition gpt.bin / fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img), but it fails in every case. Purposely I get the errors when I launch this commands:
Code:
- fastboot flash boot boot.img
- fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.*
All the other instructions work fine.

Hi all
I searched this, but I question here,
1 - When you unroot , put stock and update an ota, it blocks the bootloader?
2 - and the when unlocked, format all to factory?
3 - In what moment the bootloader is blocked? only when first unlock is done?
Thanks in advance, I have an honor 7 and I Know how it works, but this honor 8 L09?
1. probably
2. u can prevent factory reset if unlocked earlier
3. idk what the question means

Hi. bought an al-10 from china which apparently is flashed. There are a few things not working on phone so apart from trying to get help from seller, i have attempted the flashing myself. i have gone thru a few threads and watched TK vid on flashing twrp and rooting and roni on unlocking bootloader. now, considering the device is flashed i understand the bootloader is still unlocked (in fastboot says phone unlocked). in dev options there is no OEM unlocking option. i cannot get lock state through the code in dialler. when i try to flash twrp, sending recovery OKAY, writing recovery FAILED <remote: command not allowed> so cannot really get to rooting stage
Thank you for the time.

Hi.
Sorry device is honor 8 frd-al10.
It was fastboot flash recovery twrp_cn.img
I have just received a message from seller stating it was flashed with eu firmware. I have it as frd c900b120. Should i be using the image for FRD-L09 or FRD-L19 in this case ?
Thank you.
I'm trying to get one of my E4's ready to sell (I have two of them) and need to relock the bootloader so that the N/A message goes away. I reinstalled the stock firmware provided here using fastboot (and followed the appropriate oem locking steps) but at the very end I get:
Code:
Still require signed boot.img
I am assuming nobody has found a workaround for this as Lenovo hasn't provided official stock firmware and I haven't seen any posts about a solution? Would appreciate any insight.
Not possible currently, just let the buyer know that the bootloader is unlocked and it's root ready lol.
Is it still currently not possible to relock the bootloader?

fastboot oem lock_bootloader
Then go to Motorola.com grab a stock image
Fastboot flash boot boot.img and everything else too.
Fastboot flash
bootloader
oem
Boot
Logo
system
Etc....
I did this and had to use my code that they emailed me to unlock the boot loader again.
I had several ROMs on my pP9 lite and after some time I decidet to unroot and go stock again. I don't remember how, but a locked the bootloader and installed stock rom.. everything OK, but after an OTA update I got no bluetooth and I can't install now any other rom cuz I lost my OEM unlock code and now I can't get it from Huawei... When I go to fastboot, I have PHONE Unlocked and FRP Unlocked too, but I can't flash the recovery... it's like the bootloader is unlocked, but it don't let me flash my EliteTWRP image... I get FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
Any sugestions on how to fix this? I want to give this phone to my nephew, it is still a good phone for some games and whatsapp
thanks

Hello,
even if it says it's unlocked, it's actually locked.
So you need to unlock it again if you want to flash stuffs...
Good luck
P.S.: About your other post... You cannot flash with dload method on android 7,
you need to use Elite recovery and HWOTA method or Huawei Recovery Updater to flash the firmware
you want. ( be sure you choose the correct firmware )
Cheers
Hi all, a few minutes ago I tried to roll back from Q beta to P, so I followed the essential's official instructions, that I found on their site, and I unlocked bootloader and critical. Then I downloaded the latest official Pie release but I could't install it via flashall.bat file, becuause I got stucked on sending 'nvdef_a'. So after this failed attempt i tried to relock the bootloader via fastboot flashing lock command but nothing happened. I then tried to do a fastboot devices and my device was connected, so I don't know why it didn't work. Should I relock critical first?
And do you know why I couldn't flash the original firmware? I was thinking of removing the '_a' commands in the flashall.bat, since i'm currently on partition _b, but i'm afraid of bricking the phone.
Thanks, Andrea.
