I recently installed TWRP on Z981 using the method found here:
https://androidforums.com/threads/new-root-method-for-z981-zmax-pro.1284305/
All went without a glitch.
I did a full backup of my system using TWRP
Then I installed AOSPEx just to discover camera does not work etc, So I decided to revert back to Marshmallow.
However, the phone keeps on getting stuck at the boot animation,. Does anyone know how to get past this problem?
Is this an indication of a bootloop of something else?
How do I revert back to Marshmallow?
I have the exact same question. Am I stuck using ROM's permanently? xD

Hi,
I have a rooted nexus 6p, all was well until it decided to reboot and boot-loop when I opened my music app. I get as far as the white Google logo then the phone restarts and I'm back to the normal warning then Google logo then reboot.
I have managed to get into the recovery screen (with the android laying down) but when i choose recovery mode the phone just starts boot-looping again.
I am wondering if I have somehow managed to hard brick it?
I have tried to flash the latest OS onto my phone but it said no signature.
I did managed to wipe the device also.
Thanks for any help.
Are you on Nougat or still on MM? Since you're rooted, it means you didn't receive an OTA. Did you flash it yourself, originally?

When my phone started playing up I was still on MM 6.0.1, I tried to flash N after the boot-looping started.
Thanks
Hey guys,
I was running a old version of android (6.0.1) and wanted to upgrade my rooted phone today. Decided to try out Oreo, followed a guide that involved using fastbooting various files (bootloader, radio, boot, system, vendor). I got no errors along the way. My phone went past the android logo once and "optimized" my apps, restarted and was stuck loading the android logo. It now just keeps trying to load the android logo and reboots into TWRP recovery. After recovering, I am now stuck on the Google image while booting up.
Does anyone have any tips? Can I just try flashing a older version of android? Or is there a better way to fix this problem. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!
Edit: Was able to fix my issue. For anyone who is having similar problems, follow step 9 from Heisenberg's guide. Since I was updating from such an old version, a lot of the programs were incompatible with the newer android version and causing issues.
Over the past three or so days, I started getting random reboots and phone getting stuck at the Google Logo. I thought it might have something to do with Magisk or the DarkROM that I was using. So I decided to go back to stock.
- I have unlocked bootloader.
- I am able to get into TWRP
I fastboot flashed all the necessary files to get back to stock. However, phone still gets stuck at the GOogle Logo.
I flashed Aquarious custom ROM, - still stuck at Google logo.
Tried the modified 4 core version of the EX kernel in the bootloop fix thread - still stuck at Google Logo.
I am able to enter TWRP and bootloader. But can't get the phone to boot beyond the Google logo.
Anybody have any suggestions to help?

Since you have access to recovery you may not have BLOD. Before applying the BLOD workaround, I would simply flash the latest (8.0) full image according to the instructions on the Google Factory Image website. That means using the included flash-all.bat. This is the way Google intended people to return to a fully stock device. Then you will know for sure if you are affected.

ummmm... this thread looks abandoned. i'm going through the same thing. i'm not sure what to do now.
please help!
thanks.
I upgraded the firmware on my phone to install Bad Boyz Oreo ROM. My phone did not like it. It sent the phone into a constant bootloop.
Since that time, I've tried everything. I'm not a noob to this. I was able to use a Sprint Nougat RUU, which installed successfully with no errors, but it stayed on the HTC green and white screen. No bootloop, just stayed on the screen. I installed TWRP, and flashed an older version of Viper ROM. It's just stuck ont he Venom logo. Not doing anything.
I'm downloading another RUU at the moment. Not sure it's going to do anything.
Can anybody get me to a point where the phone works again? I can't upgrade until July, and I am using my old M8 till I get this fixed.
Thanks!
Mother****er! I just installed Bad Boyz again, using the Magisk and it's booting. What's the issue using the SuperSU optionk
Can U plz provide a link of the same?
