Very dissapointed, it takes time to shot and it is annoying, as Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 takes very fast and my Xperia 10 II not that is newer

Has this been fixed in later updates?
I played with one today and I could not get the camera to lag

I don't know, I broke my screen and still waiting for a screen replacement

I went back for a play, its still there. Ultimately the only let down of the phone but a key feature.

Hi, the original cam takes long time to shoot a photo but If you use footej cam for example cam is shooting fast as usual. So i guess it will fix in future updates ?

Don't think so. This is my 4th week with this phone, so not sure how the performance has been before that but it's still utterly slow (needs some getting used to, coming from Pixel 2 XL).
Sure would be nice if they fix this somehow in the future.

I'm on the latest update on Android 11 and the camera is still slow to take a picture and it can be very slow indeed to have a look at the result. I think this is the weakest aspect of the device. The images are nice though.

No lag in launch and shutter at all.
takes 1 second from lock screen to camera then to take a picture. Its fast
It's pretty bad according to my experience. A lot of digital noise that I don't take photos as often anymore. and what's sad is it's all on the software end

For me it's really bad... Sometimes takes 2 seconds to open camera and then the camera viewfinder needs 2 more seconds to load.
It's pretty darn fast, whether to load or to shoot, click and done.
For me is pretty fast, test:
1. Reboot phone and wait for auto screen off
2. Double press Power button
3. Capture photo using VolUp key
Time needed between 2 and 3 is only 1sec
not so fast for me after the latest V2.2 update

I'm using these steps too and it takes hardly 2 seconds. I stopped at 1.91 seconds.

i'm getting agitated that LG hasn't released an update to fix some of these bugs, yet. camera app is really slow to start sometimes. hangs up really badly when switching to night mode. many apps are slow to launch in this way, but camera is the most disruptive. get your $#!% together LG. i paid a lot of money for this device.
My issue was once I took a photo, I had to wait for it to save. Like if I snap and then exit the camera, it doesn't save the photo.
Double click the power button could be faster, I don't own a Samsung but I know my friend's S7 is better to grab that quick snap than my LG G7 from the lockscreen/screen off. Launching the app and switching between front, back, and wide is not bad. It isn't instant but quick enough where it isn't awkward. The low light auto switching causes mini freezes which is why I turned it off.
Camera lag is bad and wait to save to storage is bad too. For this device, it should save MUCH faster particularly to built in storage. My S9+ saves MUCH faster and it's pointing to a 256GB microSD card to boot. Not impressed.
As above camera is slow to launch, frustratingly slow to take pictures, and also as above sometimes the picture doesn't save after taking a shot and exiting the camera. Again as above very disappointed as I paid alot for this phone.....

Camera user experience is garbage. Very slow to launch and be ready to take the first snap, when you press the shutter, slow to react, then switching back and forth between normal angle to wide angle is about 2-3x slower than the previous phones like G6, G5... It's baffling why the switching is so slow. Bad implementation all around. LG, c'mon, step it up!

it actually bothers me.. from clicking the capture to having the photo saved it takes a good 1 second.
This in turn translates in blurry , shaken, lost moments.
Try this: click the capture then drag your phone. The photo will be from while you drag your phone. I tried a lot of apps, all are consistent to this problem.
The app opens almost instantly. the main shooter is very fast and saves pics fast. the Tele lens is making you wait like 3 seconds! and the portrait is taking forever to take one photo you have to wait like 4 - 5 seconds to take another one.
The video is also **** cause of the dropped frames and its not even 60FPS!
Hope an update will fix all above

It's pretty good!
I think the camera speed is average. Don't get me wrong - I love the OnePlus 7 Pro's camera('s), but there are some things related to the camera speed which aren't on par with other phones (flagships). The stock camera app takes about 1 - 1.5 seconds to open, which is not bad at all and is not my problem. The only issue I have is with the shutter speed: it takes just a 'millisecond' more to 'click' than I'd like it to. This doesn't stop me from taking photographs of high quality, but I have noticed that when I'm taking a selfie and I can't hold it still enough, it just has this annoying blur. Not too much to absolutely ruin, the picture, but it's there and noticeable. That being said, I wouldn't want to get another phone at all - I love it and the camera's on it, and the blur can absolutely be avoided by just not moving at all, even though that is hard to do and some phones do a better job of avoiding it.
I'm happy with the speed. I use the double press power button feature and the camera is open very fast.

I've noticed this on the stock camera app, Gcam works way better in this situation though, so it's a software issue

Slow to open.
Not UNUSABLE.
Just average.
Takes about 2.5-3.0 seconds to open the camera using the twist action from screen off or from any other screen.
You'll miss the shot if you're truly to be super quick.
But it's reasonable and as fast as many more expensive phones.

First time here, hope y'all don't mind hitting an old thread. But my camera doesn't work at all. App opens, always gives first-time tutorial, & it works for 10 sec. Then always freeze, & reset. I'll also get a notification saying something like 'initializing image processing' or something like that.
I've tried some camera apps & no dice. Im gonna study about rooting, but ya think a root could fix it? Or does it sound like a hardware issue?
Factory reset it imo.
