Can't access telegram group - Omni Q&A

I can't access your telegram group @omnirom_Community . I never joined before, can you explain why do you block new contributors? My telegram is @itisicy. You write on your website "Omni is a chance to get involved, no matter who you are." It doesn't seem so.

Anyone else having problems connecting to the Omni Telegram Group? Can someone give me telegram contact to group admin please?

Admins are arogant and disrespectful to users. They don't follow own rules they do whatever they want, ignoring you, kick you, ban you for trying to help and discuss their flawed sick behaviour, not because you deserve it but because they can. Just like communists.

I can't access the group for some reason. I joined once, just wanted to follow the things about 7T Pro, so I was silent and I got banned to next day. Can't even go back.
Seriously wtf?
Now I can't even find where to download the latest to my OP 7T Pro, because the dev went mad and closed the topic on XDA, can't join TG, so I got stucked on OOS.

Admins have no shame. I watched someone defending me and they got banned for that. I quote main developer/admin Max Weninger what he thinks about users. "You are not worth it".
If you still want to use the rom anyway, you can get around it by deleting your telegram and registering again or register with different number.
When you join be fast they have bot that requires you to answer math problem in 300sec.'s.
If you don't make it, they ban users automatically no discussion, because "You are not worth it"

I am a girl and I feel sorry for you and would be sorry for your son or any offspring of yours. Don't know what this gastepo is never called you like that you lier.
People know your ROM not for ROM itself but for how disrespectful you and other admins are to your users and how you ban on telegram everyone with different opinion. I wasn't first nor last. And you just confirm that when you have picture saying "arrogant bastard" as admin's telegram photo. You have no self reflection.

What a community ROM... Seriously, this is the best one out there and they are just like dictators.

Don't even bother guys, just download the ROM and enjoy it. OmniRom is a great project!
About the Admins... Sooner or later they will pay the price, just sit back and enjoy! ?

NOOBS READ FIRST!!! Beware of Spammers!!!!

To all,
I guess you have all noticed how much spam we have been getting recently in this forum (especially in the D&H section). Most of us are all too familiar with the current events of the site to fall for scams of any kind. However, there is a tremendous influx of new members to the community who have no clue of what is going on, which makes them good targets for these. I have personally never clicked on any of them, but anything could be on the other side of those links.
It seems that spammers are getting a little smarter as of today. I have already seen two new threads being opened with titles of current events (the latest being "Manila 2D Customizer"). Most of us here at XDA are fast when it comes to reporting this kind of threads and the mods are fairly swift to take them out, but they keep on coming.
So, if you are uncertain of a thread (specifically if it has a link and barely any writing or posts), do not click as it is probably not from a trusted source. The best thing to do is to click on the red and white warning sign at the top right corner of the post and report it. This will help keep the forums clean (and you clean of possible viruses).
@Mods: I know it isn't exactly D&H material, but I figured we could make it a sticky to warn noobs. Maybe even copying this on other sections as well might not be a bad idea.
LONG LIVE XDA!!!
Currently, the best thing is to press
located in the upper right of each post. By pressing this, you send an email to all moderators at which time, once recieved, we will respond as quickly as possible.
Thx Very Much

Pfft....yea that's smart, call the people noobs that will make them read it
Why not put, Everyone MUST Read!!!?
Because I know senior members that spam as well, not just "noobs"

Why don't you read before talking??? This thread is about awareness of actual spam as in "people trying to do phishing in our forum" spam and not "people opening new threads spam"...
The reason why I directed this to new members (noobs) was because they are not so aware of which the real threads are and which ones aren't. Like I said, please read before complaining. Thanks.

Ha ha ha hah! Says the man with the website link in his sig.
Anyway, good post to bring to everyone's attention I think as we can all do our bit to help eliminate the spamming - by reporting it the moment we see it. Good work moderators, hope it doesn't take up too much of your precious time!
It is never too much to get people attention to these matters,
Thx

I don't recall when I registered if you have the "no spam" set up or not. But I have a Vbulletin forum and once the spammers found it I started getting all kinds of junk, as soon as I instituted that they disappeared.
Or are you talking about spam of the human kind (as opposed to bots)

It seems that it has been gradually disappearing, but here is the run down. Spammers (I believe human) were opening threads all over the forum with links to God only know what (never clicked on them for obvious reasons). The biggest problem is that the threads started becoming more ingenious with subjects such as "M2D New Version" or things that are related to the site. That is why I opened this thread, to raise awareness among new members of the forum to be careful and to let them know that they should check things twice to ensure that they are getting the real thing.
I fell for one a while back. The best thing is to use the search function, for me, and only click a link if its recommended by, at the least, by a member that most seem to know or a senior member.
I'm sure vBulletin comes with a moderation-queue feature... any new posts by members with 0-5 posts have to be read and validated by moderators before appearing to 'the public'. Worthwhile?

Maybe, but the only problem is that you would need an army of mods monitoring at all times. This site gets too many new members each day. Besides, the spam posts that I was referring to were opened by "users" that posted the same thing so many times that they actually got about 6-10 posts under their belt.
Good suggestion though...

Sim Unlock HTC Rose

Can remove simlock from HTC Rose and from any other HTC device.
This service is not free.
You will get unlock code in 5 minutes to 72 hours.
It will costs 50$ = 38$ by donation to xda-developers.com - http://forum.xda-developers.com/donations.php
Please send me a Private Message for details.
P.S. you do not need to reflash, disassembly, hard reset your device!
??????
What the.... again? TRYOG what can you say? MDA III here we go again.
Haven't I said enough...?
The only way to stop this, is to stop xda-developers...
But xda-developers means a lot more to me than tupisdin, so I think we can't stop this guy from what he's doing.
But, at least, I'm happy I did my job to humanity and tried to show everybody what kind of ugly monster tupisdin is,
even though the mods didn't get the motivation to move their lazy ass and kick him out.
O.G.
Maybe there is a reason
I think some mods are friends of tupisdin, and the income he earn they get a percentage, is that possible?
That, and i did not see anyone else post some of the most important Pre Release roms the last year more then Tuspidin.
XDA is not a forum about suspicions and conspiracies.
It's an obvious Win Win situation for all members.
Tuspidin gets the satisfaction of helping out XDA and users get affordable Sim Unlock and the latest apps from PreRelease Roms.
Please do not start another debate about this, The Moderating Team and Admin have already debated this and a division has been made by the Site Admin and was communicated with Tuspidin.
So Since Tuspidin is not being "kicked out" i hope you can respect that decision and Shut Up Already.
I'm certainly not getting richer nor are any moderators.
Calling someone an Ugly monster in any case is something we can't have it's a personal attack we don't allow.
Please refrain from using these terms.
And Luckily Moderators know better then feel attacked when being called Lazy asses after removing Spam, Warez and preventing conflicts that have nothing to do with what XDA is intended for, but it doesn't make friends.
It's only normal that Moderators just accept to be called whatever people want to call them, right?
So i'm only giving a warning about the first remark aimed at Tuspidin, but i can't promise any other Mod might feel differently about the lazy part. The Warning goes for both of you two as it clearly looks you like to Team up when you go beat on someone.
If you want you can help Moderators get of their Lazy ass at this thread:

It's been a long time since I haven't visited this website.
And I was an active user.
(You know why I don't visit this website as often as I used to.)
I've helped people and people have helped me.
I've gained knowledge and people gained knowledge from me.
For example:
I was the first to write a tutorial about how to change the language on an HP iPaq 514.
The mods won't mention my help and win-win situations, would they?
Nooooooooo... And I don't want it.
But, if you are going to show me the help tupisdin gave you and forget about mine, then I will have to say that YOU are the guys who choose sides & attack people.
You are the guys who sold this websites fun & social part for money
Not us.
Now, there is less development, less fun, etc.
The only thing more is MONEY
Now, I hope you saw my love for this website in the past.
And you've ****ed it up.
P.S. MOD: Nobody's teaming up with me.
I've had something to say and people are agreeing with me.
They give their own opinions about a subject.
I can't find a rule about "shutting up about tupisdin" in the forum's rules.
The only reason I've shut up about tupisdin was, because my friend tom_codon asked me to.
P.S. 2.:
Mods, you can warn me all you want, you can't make me lose 1 thing I care about.
+ You guys play dirty and if you are going to continue, I'm going to play dirty, too
Bye.

Date: Monday May 24th, 2010
Time: From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (EST)

Thanks and hope to see you then.
This thread will remain closed until the specified time.
First of all, I wanted to welcome all of you and thank you for taking the time to put all the remaining issues to rest. As with anything on this site, please be courteous to others, don't flame, don't curse, and try to make your comments as meaningful as possible (in other words, don't troll )
This is a floor for discussion and debate, so whoever feels like speaking up, please do so. I believe that the first order of business is the fixxxer issue. Cbarlan (aka Papa_Smurf) already put me up to speed on that issue but I would like to have some more input from you all.
The only thing i will add to this is im tired of being accused and followed around here because im new, same goes for other newbies as well. This smixxxer guy is obviously a banned member and keeps signing up to stir up trouble. I know i accused neb of being him and i talked to a few members who told me it was not, so for that i humbly apologize. I firmly believe once someone is banned from here, they should stay banned. Id just like to see people start getting along more. In my mind fixxxer is talked about than the hero itself, he's not here anymore and the subject needs to end already.
Thats all id like to add to this as i have to go.
For me, personally, most of what I had issue with has been resolved, both through a bit more leniency from the mods (thanks you guys!), and the creation of the off-topic thread for us to blow off steam in.
Re: fixxer/nebs situation, I am prolly too biased on this to give much of an objective opinion. That being said, if nebs and fixxer are both willing to cool the vitriol a bit, I see no reason to keep the bans up. Others may feel differently, but that is where I stand.

I think it's just unfortunate there are such easy ways to get around a ban.
FYI and FWIW- I have not created any identities on this site other than this one and phenicks.
I am done with fixxxer even though he is obviously still here. I hope he can begin to grow up a little and stop fueling "the fire".
Without the ability to reliably ban someone from simply making a new login ID I would like to suggest the following as food for thought:
To help cut down on banned members coming right back to start more crap:
-2 to 4 week period before new members can post AND/OR
-2 to 4 week post (not read) restriction to general/q&a sections for new members
To help cut down on redundant and misplaced threads by noobs:
-20/30 post minimum before new members can make a new thread
To help clarify who is actually a senior member:
-500 posts to earn senior member status
(It can be confusing for a noob who to direct questions to, also I have seen as high as 32 posts/day counts.. senior member in 3-4 days?)
-neb
PS.
Thank you for the off topic lounge, that one is a home-run
And thank you to Egz and Ryan and other mods for your involvement lately. I for one am delighted to see the member side of you guys rather than just the moderator side.

Neb buddy, are you refering to me?
I agree completely here. On several forums I have been on in the past there is a minimum reply number to current posts before you can start a new thread. This would stop the "Im new and don't wanna read" and also would prevent people from being banned and being able to go start a new account and have just as much going as they did before.

Also, I think its great that this place is such a fantastic resource and I think it's great that many of the senior members have the patience to answer questions that come in the form of brand new threads in the wrong sections.
I'd like to see people (senior members) get more comfortable with prefacing their responses to these threads with "This should have gone <here>". I am not suggesting we don't answer these questions, I would just like to see some diligence guiding new people to post in the appropriate section. Lots of these kinds of threads get answered and it's not until half way down the page until someone acknowledges the thread was posted is in the wrong section. Not that its a heinous offense or anything but I think most would agree new threads in the wrong sections are inconvenient and happen A LOT.

I believe the creation of the off subject lounge and leniency of the mods have made a huge difference. With that being said I believe that being respectful by both mods and users will greatly help. Yeah I know things get out of hand at times and that the mods get tired of hearing a million reports on this section. But commingle in here with an iron fist and then trying to sweep it under the rug hoping it will go away will never work. Getting to the root of the issue is a lot more effective and trying to resolve the problem out weighs bannings. I've said this in the past banning is almost a joke. Anyone can make a sock puppet account and keep causing problems. So what doea is solve.
To the users who r act like natzis...the mods will decide if a subject goes into a different section. Either contribute to the thread or shut up. I'm so tired of someone ask a question or post a thread and watch the wave of senior members (a select few all the time) say this should go to this section. Is it that hard to answer the question or post a link to the answer (this goes for the whole use the search button also). Sometimes when u search for an answer there r so many results and it shows all result including from first day forum started and some of those are way out of date and a noob isn't as experienced enough to sort through what newer and what's older.

Hey neb,
For once, welcome back! I am glad that you guys are putting this whole thing behind. For the last few days, I have felt that things have really began to calm down in here (particularly because we don't see that many reported posts/threads from here anymore). I will take your suggestions to the site admin and the other mods and see what they think. Some of them can be a bit hard to implement (particularly the first two), but the other ones, I couldn't agree more (especially on the Senior Member threshold, I agree that 100 posts is just way too little). In fact, I invited the other mods and admin over here as well, so they might up in during the day as well. This thread is guaranteed to have exposure to everyone that needs to see it

Agreed that searching can easily and often be a fruitless PITA.
As far as the response.. "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all" (right?, lol)
I am not one to bust someones head for posting in the wrong section. I will sooner ignore the question.
I don't see any harm in telling someone they have posted in the wrong section but I think it would be great to see those types of comments accompanied by some sort of helpful reply.

Ya know, I woud like to see guys from other devices in here as well. These changes being propsed aren't just relevant to CDMA Hero's. Post Count and status should effect the whole site.
To make XDA better as a whole and to maintain it's "Developers" status so to speak, you have to quiet the people asking basic questions some times.
Personally I am not good at training, I don't want to have to teach someone how to dial there phone

yeah, it took me no time at all to hit senior member status, and I don't post nearly as often as some (some of you may have a hard time believing this, but i'm still averaging less than a post a day. I like to think mine are just....memorable ). Though it might add more work, it might be useful to have 3 membership types instead of 2. I mean, I can TOTALLY see needing to be around for a while before you get your senior badge, I don't think it is necessary to make a dude wait till he has 500 posts to put up a link, you know what I mean?
EDIT: w00t! I lied! I just hit avg 1.05 posts per day!

Sometimes when u search for an answer there r so many results and it shows all result including from first day forum started and some of those are way out of date and a noob isn't as experienced enough to sort through what newer and what's older.

Hey cb, I mean Papa
Love the new avatar... I guess now I understand why you wanted your name changed . Moving threads for us is a bit of a nuisance, but it has to be done so that important sub forums don't get flooded by a bunch of "asking for help" or "what do you guys think its better x or y" threads, none of which are exclusive to noobs, but some seniors as well.
The way I usually handle (or at least I used to handle when I was a regular member) the out of place threads, was normally to direct towards a solution and used the "Report" icon on the thread/post to get a mod to either move it or delete it, if needed be. People who just flat out burst into flaming or insulting the member asking the question are simply out of place and should not do that. However, I have learned over the years that many people on the internet (not only here) would much rather write a long rant on how someone should google before asking questions, than to simply say "here is the link" and pressing the report button saying "please move to x y z section"... I guess it is a culture thing...

I can agree with that but there are a select few that r like section police. Every thread that's in the wrong section they r there to let them know and that's all they contribute. I find myself reading them say that going douche just answer the question or ignore it. That's just ne though
I like LMGTFY, it gets the point across, but is helpful at the same time. Some folks get offended, but most get the point and say thanks.
edit: not to derail the thread, but a lot of people don't know HOW to search properly. It ain't enough to just plug a bunch of words in the text box and hit the button. A lot of us grew up in the pregooglenet dark ages, when searching wasn't nearly as easy, and have skills that these young whippersnappers do not posess.

yeah, it took me no time at all to hit senior member status, and I don't post nearly as often as some (some of you may have a hard time believing this, but i'm still averaging less than a post a day.

The fact that your post are memorable rather than "fillers" is a good thing (I wish more people would do that)
We have 3 levels of membership:
Junior member (up to 10 or 30 posts, I cannot remember this one)
Member (up to 100 posts)
Senior member (anything over 100 posts)
I will ask the admin about moving senior and junior levels up, because I honestly think that those are the important ones.

mods closing threads wtf?

Wtf is up with all these moderators closing threads?? first it was hero_over now noobnl? if we want to donate to help increase production on development for our device whats the problem? I used to think this place was pretty chill but lately its been a bunch of bs and there honestly you mods just slowing down dev. for our device by closing threads and pissing the developers off. The devs should have every right to put there donations link up here to get paid for there countless hours of hard work just like XDA does since if it wasn't for the devs you wouldn't get half the traffic you do right? So i would think the least you all could do is let them all post there donation links since again no one forcing them to donate.
And if you guys keep it up your just gonna lose your awesome development community that everyone comes here for and hopefully we will all migrate to a much better forum where this bs isn't a problem.

Well, I am not a MOD here, but I can not at all agree with you thinking the threads are being closed because of donation links. It has been my understanding that donation links it itself are fine to ROMS/Kernals that are not vaporware.
There has been quite alot of "coming soon [insert kicks ass rom name here]" then ask for a donation.--- That is not tolerated, and shouldn't be.
There has also been alot of "coming soon [insert kicks ass rom name here]" but if you donate you can download it from my site over here, and when I feel like it I will post it here for the masses-- Using XDA as an advertising forum. -- Again more threads in the dev section offering nothing but a place holder.
I think the point is "put up, or shut up" we do not need to scour threads in the dev section that do not contain any dev material.
In addition, this thread will be the next target as it is not offering anything but constructive critisism (which I cannot flash to my epic) and makes for yet an even more poor dev section.
There is a general forum for a reason, I usually do not post but felt compelled to share my views on your thoughts.
-cheers
I agree. The point of closing those threads is simply to make this forum a better place to get what you need in the term of DEVELOPMENT/ROMS/etc. This isn't a place to advertise your "Donateware" ROM, or to have tons of Coming Soon threads. Get a beta our or something, release it, and post a thread.
Now I do agree in Coming Soon threads if its only a day or two out. Hell, it builds hype, and gives people something to look forward to. But if you are going to post a "Coming Soon" Thread and wait 2+ weeks before you even release anything, then it needs to be closed.
Anyway, please look into everything before you make such bold assumptions.

+1. I completely agree. I hate that idea. I mean, yes, these people put a lot of effort into their ROMs, and yes, they should get compensation, but it should not be mandatory, and it should not affect when you get ROM. Pimp your donations or site as much as you want, but the strength of this forum, and many others like it, is the free and open source nature of the projects on it. I would hate to see all that fall apart because of some people trying to take advantage of users. I completely agree with the Mods on this one.
Most people donate from the heart without being asked to do it and thats the way it should be.I owned Behold 2 and MyTouch Slide 3GS,both forums have excellent developers and never once did i see "Coming Soon" or "Go to my site to donate" thread. But every time developer bricked his phone you better believe everybody donated within a day to get them a new phone, and they never asked for donations-people did it cuz we loved the work they put it.Plus 90% of developers make roms for fun and not for money, but they should get donations because they brick alot of phones, lol.
I have to agree with just about everything said here after the OP.
Plus, check facts before ranting. According to Toast (the Mod in question), the changes to Herver's thread were made at Herver's request.
I find it hard to fault moderators for doing (a) exactly what they say they will in the forum rules, and (b) exactly what a thread starter asks of them.
I am not a developer, and maybe I would feel differently if I were, but XDA is supposed to be about community development and not marketing/sales.

You're an idiot.
1st post, welcome to the forums. haha
To the OP,
The answer to your questions can be found here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81, in particular, items 8 and 11.
You might also want to read these rules in their entirety so you fully understand them.
I am moving this to General, where it should have been correctly posted, and closing this. if you have any further questions on the moderation of this site then please do not hesitate to contact any member of the moderating team.

Bonsai 4.0.0 thread closed??!?!? WTF?

Bonsai team just released v4.0.0 based on EC05. That's awesome!!
The thread was shortly thereafter closed by scotsman with the folling message
Thread closed until it complies with forum rules.

With all due respect to scotsman and the other mods (and much is due), this sort of moderation is very frustrating to the community, and sure to create more work and headaches for you guys than simply expending a tiny, miniscule bit of additional effort when you take actions like this:
Explain specifically what the non-compliance is/was.
No one probably would care in the case of the five billionth "Samsung sucks" thread. On a thread like the Bonsai release thread, however, or any similarly popular argulably important (to the community) thread, it is only prudent to be a bit more explanatory when such a severe action is taken.
I was able to successfully get the release, of course. That's not the issue. I have some comments I'd like to post; a few questions too. Failing to see what rule violation has taken place, after reading the thread, I'm left confused, frustrated, and (right or wrong) feeling abused by the moderator (mildly so, to be sure).
Second, there seems to be a catch-22 here: If the thread is non-compliant somehow, and has been closed until it can be made compliant, one is left wondering: How can that happen if the thread is closed?
Scotsman, please update your closure post to help the community better understand what is going on. Save yourself, and the community, some grief. The effort is less than it will take to reply to this thread.
From my understanding it is because you have to register on their site to download it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Correct. Download links are not supposed to be posted on sites that require registration. Not to mention the method they do so acts more like a shopping cart/buying system than a download system. It gives a very bad image, and they need to rectify it.
I mean this sincerely, but wouldn't it have been easier to PM the moderator who closed this so that your concerns could be addressed correctly and efficiently?
Honestly I'm glad it was closed. And if you register for that website, you'll see it's money money money, donate here, give us that there... if you want money for it, fine. Sell it. I already have to register for enough crap, I don't need to register for anymore.
Scotsman, keep up the great work that you do!

No.
Further, the answers provided here would not have been available to the community. I would have had to post a thread anyway with the answer, hence "not easier".
You may disagree that this information justifies public airing. That's fair. We simply disagree with each other.
But the moderator already said that it wasn't in compliance with forum rules....
Oh well, I'm not worried about it....
Seems petty that XDA is so closed a forum, considering it supports Android, which is supposed to be open source
I "may" understand if it was linking to somewhere where you HAD to pay, but the website only required you to register, not pay.
Seems no one is "allowed" to provide helpful links to anywhere else, kinda sad for an "open source" website.
Actions like that by Mods devastate a community even worse then even the harshest of trolls
Just another example why XDA has the bad rep it does.

I completely understand your POV, and it has merit. I don't agree with it (I find it quite easy to spend maybe 30 seconds registering and clicking past the entreaties to donate).
If it violates the forum rules, they should be enforced. I have no problem with that.
What I do have a problem with is mysterious closures of threads. While some here are well-versed on the forum rules, most are not. And even those of us that have read through them in their entirety do not necessarily spot the reason for a closure.
When the specific reason can be so easily put in the closure post, and of course the mod that made the decision knows precisely why they are closing it, it simply is not reasonable to expect thousands of other members to have to go back and commit the equivalent of legal research in the forum rules to figure out what the mod could simply have articulated with a short sentence.
The latter would serve the community far better -- and isn't that a core responsibility of mods?
The forum has the rules it does, and frankly, I don't think the issue of the Bonsai team's approach here to distribution is worth arguing about. It would be an exercise in mental masturbation that would never come to any resolution. Some people are highly irritated by their approach to soliciting donations, some aren't bothered at all (me, for instance). Regardless, they should follow the rules when posting here.
None of that has anything to do with how moderators do their jobs. I have no particularly pointed criticism for scotsman, or any other mod w.r.t. to this issue. Rather, I am suggesting a way to better serve their "customers", and make their own job here easier. They can consider it, or ignore it.

For what it's worth, I had issues registering and actually getting to the download when I tested it. That has nothing to do with the merit of an off-site download or the need to register, of course.

An entirely informationless reason.
That's the reason that every closed thread gets closed. It isn't enlightening at all.

Well, the Forum Rules state that
Forum Rules said:
Off-site downloads from sites requiring registration are NOT encouraged but may be permitted if the following conditions are met:
A) the site belongs to a member of XDA-Developers with at least 1500 posts and 2 years membership who actively maintains XDA-Developers' support thread(s) / posts, related to the download,
B) the site is a relatively small personal website without commercial advertising/links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)

It appears as though Mammon doesn't have 1500 posts which would make him in violation of the rules and thus the reason for his thread being closed.
I'm sure that all of this was explained to him via PM though.
the real issue here is that people with issues can't post them now. but i gotta agree, while registering wasn't that much of a hassle, try downloading the thing from your phone, you gotta go through 16 prompts and 666 other things, speak to satan, make sure jesus is on your side and then you can finally download it. thats a lot of hassle from a phone browser. or you can download it to your computer. connect your phone, speak to satan, make sure jesus is on your side and maybe the computer will decide it llikes the phone enough to show the drive where you can copy it.
but I can go to ACS, click download and have it on my phone in 2 seconds.
I do agree that forums shouldn't get closed like this without explanation, but we saw the same thing with epic experience and frankly usually the quality gets worse not better once this starts to happen. With Epic experience, the rom went from superstable to so buggy it was unusable and the heads started to get quite swelled.

You're problem, obviously, clearly is that you are not already pre-qualified with Satan and Jesus, as I am, thereby supernaturally being silently led around 15 of the prompts and 665 of the links. Much like a VIP passing the line at a hot nightclub.
Go and register at http://SatanIsMyBud.com and http://JesusDigsMe.com, and you'll avoid these problems. Don't worry about the apparent conflict -- they're enemies, and don't share databases.

I understand. At the same time, this is all free, the "providers" are donating their time and effort to us "consumers", so a certain degree of forebearance seems appropriate, IMO.
This is all very personal and subjective, similar in many ways to one's musical tastes. There's no point in arguing "is not! is too!" over such things -- I really don't mind jumping through some hoops for a few minutes to get something awesome for free. But that's just me, and my personality. Others do, and I bear no criticism or ill-will for their perspective.
The one criticism I do have is for those that slag on the guys. If you were paying for a product/service, sure, you have some standing. However, if you're simply taking advantage of their donated work, you certainly have the option not to, and go somewhere else (like ACS, for example). There seem to me nothing good to be accomplished by anyone being so critical, and appearing like a selfish ingrate.
I'm curious to what happened to the noobnl thread where he I believe he called out mammon on the website stuff or something of that nature I didn't get to see his actual post cuz he edited it and today I can't find it anywhere.

I'm sure it's not just you.
But then, I didn't, and I'm certain there are plenty of others like me too.
What I don't get is the (seeming) arrogance of some in the former camp that lack the basic civility to understand that both outcomes are entirely reasonable, and that intelligent, competent members of the community can arrive at either conclusion.
By "seeming arrogance" I refer to meaningless statements like, "Maybe it's just me", where the intended meaning is culturally well-established, and in my 49 years of life has never -- not once -- been said with any intent other than to denigrate others.
But then, maybe that's just me...
Mammon, Randy, et. al.: I have a suggestion for how to solve this problem.
Post a link to the Wiki, as you've done before, and then put the link to the "offending" site there, instead of a direct download.
I believe that would satisfy the Forum Rules, but of course defer to the moderators. Would any of them -- particularly scotsman -- care to weigh in?
What he needs to do is set it up like midnite rom. How he offers the rom on both sites and keeps the main support at his site and add ons. But that type of stuff irritates me. Just offer all of it here. I hate having to be redirected to another site.

I was going to try midnight, but I couldn't even find the rom to download. direct downloads really are best, especially from the phone perspective.
