Hi All
Been looking around this forum and still for awhile now and no joy or any luck probably because I'm not sure how it would word all this qiestion.
Just a quick question... I want to get a standalone sim card smartwatch but I hear they dont work in the UK.
They say it's the band in the UK that's not compatible.
Is their a decent smartwatch that I can get that will work in the UK.
Thanks.
Google search your network's bands... On the manufacturer's page, the type of network, and the bands it's compatible with, will be listed. That's what I did...

I think I've convinced myself to get one of these, but am wondering if I am correct in my understanding that there are 2 versions coming: One with LTE and one without.
If that is correct, will the LTE version still do everything radiowise (GSM/HSPA+ etc) and just also add LTE capabilities to the mix?
Finally, I am working in Sweden at the moment, I assume the LTE version will work with Telia's network (in LTE mode)?

This is what me and a lot of other people are wondering about. The marketing rep for Samsung said in a video that it will have HSPA+ AND LTE but does that mean two different models? Or that the capabilities of both are stock? The spec sheets don't say anything about LTE on any of the pre-order sites I've found but the samsung page says that it is an LTE device. I'm completely confused. I wanna buy the unlocked unbranded version but not if it doesn't include LTE...
I saw from somewhere that the Korean version will have LTE support. No information about NFC.

Yeah we get LTE + NFC for korean market but it sucks when you leave the country and realize it's not gonna work

James,
Why does it not work when you leave the country?
Also, do you know if the LTE+NFC version does everything the non-LTE version does (eg HSPA+)?
I'm thinking of just ordering one in from S Korea if it does....
I too want to know: HSPA+ AND LTE or is it one or the other but not both?
Thanks,
Any further update on LTE now that there has actually been some delivery ?
Is there a S Korean ship date for the LTE version?
Yes, very good question! I have been following this release closely the last couple of days, but no words on this issue!
It's really strange, as this is the one real deal breaker for me. No way I am going to buy this device without LTE.
But don't you guys think that they are releasing this in the beginning of next year when first movers have bought this and the fuzz about the product stops? I guess so, unfortunately. It's basically the same story with Galaxy S II / LTE version.
Apologies if this has been covered, or if this is the wrong place to post--I've searched and have been unsuccessful in finding an answer so I figured I'd ask myself.
Is the G935FD (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Duo dual sim) variant fully compatible with AT&T? That is, will it work with enough LTE bands such that I should expect fast enough data throughput? I know that it wont be able to access all AT&T LTE bands, but for practical purposes, will this phone work? It seems to be selling relatively cheaply on eBay, so before pulling the trigger I figured I would just double check that it will work. I don't care so much about having multiple sim cards, I mostly just want a cheap(er) phone.
I'm fairly convinced that the G935F will work based on a few other threads I came across on XDA and Reddit. Just looking for confirmation that the G935FD works and works well. Anyone have experience to share here?
Cheers and thanks in advance.
I have two international G935F's, one G935FD and one G935F, both on AT&T. Also an AT&T S6. I haven't had any issue with LTE. All give comparable speedtest results and all are using LTE Band 2 in my area (SF Bay area). I think they may be missing Band 30 but I don't know where that is used. The app LTE Discovery will show what band you are using. Things that don't work on the international phones for me are AT&T HDVoice (VoLTE) and AT&T Video calling. I also believe that if AT&T ever offers Voice over WiFi, that won't work either. These weren't issues for me. I was not expecting Samsung Pay to work but was surprised that it worked on the G935FD. Further investigation revealed that it was the CSC and image. I was able to download different images and got it working on the G935F as well. There's a thread on Samsung Pay on Int'l phones that discusses this if it matters to you. I think when you buy an international phone (G935F/FD) you don't know what CSC you'll get. I don't think the seller can tell without going thru setup and running a utility (I used Phone Info) to reveal the CSC/image. Everything else seems to work the same as the AT&T-branded versions.
Hello,
I'm new here on this forum. My friend told me, that you can know answer for my question.
I want to take S7 edge in usa, without contract. The biggest problem would be bands of course. In my country are used B3 for lte bands and 900MHz for others (i'm not 100% sure. I'm living in Poland now) Could you help me' where should I buy new S7 edge to use is without any problems in my country?
Before I was using SGH-1337 (s4 at&t) and it cant use lte in poland :good::crying:
Have a nice day. Waitin' for your replies. Thank you
In poland band 1/3/7/20/38 are available
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe
G935 usa model have 1/3/7 band and others depending on network provider

So it's up to you to choose the right one, but the unlocked one seems the one to buy

Soo, if I look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/detailed-sm-g935-s7-info-t3326180
there's no possibility to buy s7 edge in usa in branded shops, but that's the only way to get it in usa.
On other site: http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_(usa)-7960.php
There are different bands, so I'm confused now.. this site shows that good will be phone fron At&t or cricket, another one tells me something different, great. :good:
Ok, problem solved for me. I used page named Frequencycheck (sorry, cannot add url as new user)
Great page, you can choose country, search product and it shows which one is compatible with bands, cellulars in country. Big thumb up for this page :good:
Thanks for answer mate. Thread can be closed.
Yeah.. #same This is annoying as.. Wasted hours putting playlists together on Music Player only to have contents get deleted when power off / on.. Read something about being able to make sd card 'adoptable storage' by tweeking developer options.. may give this a try, but it involves formatting the current sd card, so plan to try when i have some time.. The closest Ive thus far researched is the mediapad with LTE that can make and receive phones. Issue us none of the LTE bands work on T mobile USA.
Was wondering if anyone would know of a tablet that can accomodate a SIM card and work on T Mobile usa LTE network as well? Most the ones I see are data only.
Thanks.
I would have thought the US version of the Mediapad m3 would support T-Mobile LTE?
Anyway, have a look at the Galaxy Tab S2 LTE. It should...
Edit: nevermind, you asked about Voice. S2 LTE doesn't do voice other than VoIP.
A little outdated, but the Sony z3 compact tablet does voice calls and should be T-Mobile compatible.
How about the z4 ? US version. Xperia Z4 Tablet Sgp771us/B 1303-5541
Sent from my SGP771 using Tapatalk
does the mediapad m3 support rogers/fido? I'm on the same boat I have the killer $15/3GB tablet plan from fido looking for a tablet to put the sim in
I bought the Z4 LTE tablet and it works. The version is hk Chinese international model that has voice enabled. I don't think the USA spec has the dialer. All works except for volte. Since it's not t mobile provisioned bull****.
To see if phone or tablet works with carrier
You need to go to this site. WillMyPhoneWork.net Anyone else find one that has spec's like this that will work with T-mobile. That's what I thought I bought. When I purchased mine Amazon had it in the spec's as haven't voice phone...
With T-Mo the best you'll get is H+. I have been using this tablet with AT&T and all I get is H+ in Chicagoland but it is acceptable although I have issues from time to time where I have to reboot to make a call. The issue is that this tablet does not physically have the LTE bands that the US uses for LTE. Sucks because otherwise this is a great tablet/phone. Of course I have the international model BTV-DL09

I wouldn't recommend it - though there appears to be a way (here for the Moto G5, but the process might be similar https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/recovering-2g-3g-set-radio-band-to-usa-t3668767 ) you run the risk of setting the incorrect band and require a firmware flash to repair.
Easiest way to look for 4G access is to go to https://willmyphonework.net/ and enter in your device and the destination for using your device. For US devices, it suggests that EE, O2, 3 UK, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile are some of the providers that can provide 4G LTE on alternative bands over here. Please verify this info before considering purchasing a UK SIM for that carrier, if your device is carrier unlocked, or accessing that network if your carrier has a roaming agreement with them.
EDIT - further investigation for O2, at least, suggests that Band 3 support may only be present in London and large cities, and the main O2 signal is 800 MHz (Band 20), so if you're travelling around the UK, might be worth noting. However, O2 and Vodafone appear to be sharing towers, so you may get 4G/LTE signal regardless if you get switched to Vodafone's network. EE seems to have good coverage and uses the other LTE bands supported by the US devices.

Thank you very much for the response, some food for thought, cheers mate!
Yeah, I wouldn't recommend trying this will any newer Moto device... since like 2015. These bands are locked DEEP within the device, and messing with it is potentially hazardous to your device, meaning if you mess up it is possible that you will get no reception on any band or frequency. I don't think I have seen this successfully done since early Moto G LTE & G2 models, and even then there was a lot of bricked devices.
This is not just a firmware, radio software, or tweak that can be done, it involves going deep into the device with Qualcomm provisioning software (which isn't available through any normal channel) and hunt and peck at various undocumented hexadecimal registry options, which often results in no reception or even a bricked device in some cases. This isn't a Nexus 4 that literally had LTE disabled in a simple radio firmware change.
BTW, ignore all those sites that say they can unlock all LTE bands in any Qualcomm device, it will brick your Moto.
Sorry, but your best bet is just get a new device locally. A simple burner phone if your just there on vacation or for a short stay, or invest in a decent device if you plan on being there for any length of time. There are many options for devices in the EU that we don't have in the US and a relatively cheap one could be sufficient for your needs and use your Moto in WiFi mode for other stuff.
