Ok, the phone is great, but the hassles of upgrading the firmware compared to my old HTC Hero - NIGHTMARE!!
Kies either fails during download with corrupt files, or then consistently get the DLL Load Fail error message - and yes i'm running it as Admin ... and have tried disabling AVG ... firmware recovery also fails ... rubbish, so gave up ...
Tried Odin, it all appears to do it ok according to the Odin screen, reboot phone - check the phone status for firmware version, exactly the same as it was before.
Have noticed on the Odin mode screen it says:
Custom Binary Download: NO
Is this right/normal ?!
HELP - I cant update my firmware in any way from my KDD version ...
While this may not help you, I can contribute my Kies experience:
I had the same problem (DLL Load Failure after firmware download) on two of my computers (Windows 7 SP1 x64) as well. After a few tries (including computer restarts and Kies reinstallation), the problem spontaneously went away - without any preceding configuration change I can remember.
If you continue to have firmware update problems and don't want to resort to ODIN you could try if a firmware update via Kies Wi-Fi (Home Screen -> Settings -> Wireless and network -> Kies via Wi-Fi) is possible.
I really don't understand why this phone can't update via cell network/wifi like HTC phones.
Hi,
I know this subject had already been trated, but I just can't find a valid solution for my specific problem.
I have a P8 Lite with number ALE-L21C109B170
According to what I rode, it seems to be a spanish version.
I tried to download the android 6.0 firmware from huawei site, single-sim, but I had the software install problem. Seems that I have to be on another build to be able to do that.
I also tried to download HiCare, and no matter which country I try, when I hit check for updates, I'm always up to date.
I tried to download adb minimal fastboot, but I'm just unable to boot my phone into fastboot (using volume down and power). I managed to do it one time, it showed that my phone was blocked, and asked me to plug it onto my computer. I did that while launching on my computer the app, but nothing happened. And now I just can't go back to fastboot mode, everytime I try it just boot normaly.
I'm a little bit confuse with all these build version, if someone could help me.
Thank you for enlightments
You should install this firmware which is specific to your carrier and dual sim model.

I have a FRP S6 Edge + and I tried to bypass this security lock folowing some totorials online. They didn't work because I assume Samsung already patched the software accordingly. I don't know what version is installed on the phone but I assume is running on Nougat since my attempts to bypass the security lock failed. So I've decided to downrade...
I've tried downgrading with Odin to 5.1.1 but it failed from the begining of the procedure and soft briked the phone.
Now it is displaying the following message: "An error has occured while updating thge device software. use the Emergency recovery function in the SmartSwitch PC software."
I can enter in download mode but I cannot install nothing with Odin. I've tried 5.1.1 firmware and 6.0.1 but it fails from the start. I've also tried 5.1.1 repair firmware package (4 files) but same, it fails. The only firmware that starts running on Odin was the latest 7.0 firmware but it also failed somwhere at 80-90%.
What now?
hey bud - i had this 2 days ago - luckily i sdorted it - its because you put oem locking off when you had a custom rom
what you got to do is - get serial number from back of se6+ or where ever it is - load smartswitch on your computer -
load it up and go to tools - emergency inatallation - put model number - ( this might fail - come out refresh your desktop and go back in )
then put serial number in the second box - it downloads the stock rom - but at least your in to start again -
it took me a whole day of worry and play just becasue you flick over the oen butoon -
try the above - it will work buddy
If not look for Bear on telegram and pm me and we will go through it together
Odin wont help you on this - you need smart switch from the samsung website - i install 5.11 - 6.0.1 - 7.0. lol - smart switch goes via your serial number and pulls the exact rom and recory system - cache - everything to fix your phone - good luck - you will sort it bud -

as above buddy
I was using FF PC version to try to update my Mate 9, tried several versions and all of them gave error when restarting the device, until I found a version that made the installation go all the way (LON-L29C636B361 (8.0.0.361)) , but after the update the device does not start, it enters the eRecovery screen. By connecting the Huawei symbol does not appear any more as well. What recovery options do I have? I tried recovery through HiSuite but it says my device is not compatible.
Excuse my English, I'm from Brazil.
model is SM-G892
baseband is G892AUCU4BSC1
Android version 8.0.0
I installed V3 and I've been told I need to flash Blv4. I can't get into download mode anymore. Whenever I attempt to access it I get the "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery option" and I can't get into download mode. Whenever I start device that same error comes up and phone won't turn on. I've been told I need the full firmware G892AUCU4BSC1 but I can't find it and I can't even get into download mode to apply it.
Thanks for the help

If you can find the firmware you can fish from that screen. Boot download and when error pops up you can see it connect in Odin. The issue is finding that firmware

Thank you, very good to know, i need this firmware now
Phone still broken. Attempted to flash active-G892AUCU4BSC1 firmware just to have it running and odin 3.13.1 fails everytime. It gets to the end and just fails. Still don't have answers
The BSC1 firmware is linked 4PDA, in both AT&T and unlocked form.
