Is G935VVRSBCTA1 rootable - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

I have a s7 edge with G935VVRSBCTA1 Baseband version. I have tried all of the guides I could find and when I have tried to flash the ENG_BOOT file it fails every time no matter which version I have tried. It is a Snapdragon phone. Is it possible to flash a different firmware? If so which should I use? I appreciate any help. Thanks
also when it fails it says this on the phone: sw rev check fail boot fused 11 binary 8

im having the exact same issues bro...ive tried searching everwhere i could think ton look. i wound up bricking my phone and had to use the verizon upgrade assistance to repair it. im starting to think the bootloader and firmware we are on can not be downgraded nor rooted

Thanks for replying, the more I read I agree with you. Thanks again.

G935VVRSBCTA1
Bootloader rev. B/11 can not be rooted yet.
You guys updated too quickly. And, no, you can not downgrade either. You will have to either wait for the ENG BOOT file for rev. B/11 or do without root.

[Q] Bricked SM-N9005

Hi Guys
Ive bricked my phone I think.
Long story short I flashed a stock ROM of 4.4.2 I believed would work on my SM-N9005 and it failed with the ext4 image error in odin.
I then tried to install the latest CWM which wanted to attempt to root my device. When the device rebooted it brought me to a samsung page advising the device needed restored to factory settings which continually loops.
Now I have tried to put a stock firmware back on the device but it is giving me error
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 2
Any advice or help would be great as I'm now really unsure what to do.
Thanks
Richie

Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Flash stock 4.4 firmware from your carrier or if not available yet check in the general section which is flash-friendly release for your phone.

In all topics of forum the same issue, people dont understand this
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 2
This means you trying to downgrade your phone
FUSED 3 = you have 4.4 installed already
Binary 2 = this means you trying to put 4.3 SW

[Q] SM-N9005 Soft Brick

Hey I had a rooted Galaxy Note III - SM-N9005.
I just tried to upgrade it from 4.2 to 4.4.2 using a guide online and it's bricked itself it gives me the error message:
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [ABOOT]FUSED 3 > BINARY 2
I've searched everywhere for an answer and none of the unbrick methods currently out there seem to work.
Any attempt to unbrick causes the same error message to appear:
SW REV CHECK FAIL: [ABOOT]FUSED 3 > BINARY 2
Please help?

Not that simple I've tried that several times with different region firmwares and everything. All of them 4.4.2 Nothing seems to work because of the stupid KNOX **** that Samsung puts on their phone now. With my old phone flashing firmwares was easy but now they make you wait for the next firmware update in order to fix your phone if you accidently softbrick it.
If you want to read what happened last time this happened and what fixed it, click here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48271795#post48271795 - This no longer works because my phone thinks its on Kitkat but it's not so I cant reflash the Taiwan firmware.
I'm currently downloading the latest Taiwan firmware before you suggest it as an option. I'm going to see if that works again.

To download SW there is no problem what KNOX status you have.
The problem which you wrote WRONG SW Version.
Dont connect KNOX and SW Version together.
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-N9005
So on that page you can see easily WHAT SW Version 4.4.2 or 4.3
Make sure you selected 4.4.2 ONLYYYY

[Q] Can't update my baseband/stuck on NCE

So one day I bricked my phone and had to flash it with the unbrick guide but it downgraded my phone to NCE which would be fine if i could just update my damn phone again. The problem I'm having is everytime I see if there's an OTA update it just says Your current software is up to date even though its not because im clearly on NCE........ Ive tried flashing Dynamic Kat to see if it would update everything but it doesnt upate the baseband. Does anyone know of a way I can fix this please?
Simon Hammers said:
If anyone could please help me it would be greatly appreciated. My phones bootloader is on NG3 but the baseband is just not updating. I read the only way to update your phones baseband is to take the OTA update but the problem with that is anytime I try to get it, I get a message that says current software is up to date which is bull**** because my baseband is NCE. So if anyone maybe knows what's going on or how to fix this issue could you please help me out

You could also just a flash a newer rom from another country/region with Odin, this doesn`t trip KNOX.

How would that work out since i have the G900A with a locked bootloader? Pretty sure the only thing i can flash through odin is the firmware in this link which is NCE. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/28224/G900AUCU1ANCE_G900AATT1ANCE_ATT.zip/

HELP!!! My Galaxy S7 Edge got Bricked!

Hello everyone,
My device got bricked since I flashed it with Odin yesterday, and now even I re-flash using official firmware, it failed as well……
The model of my phone showing in Samsung official site is G935-P (Sprint version), But that shows on download mode is G935U, maybe the eBay seller had flashed it with G935U firmware…
What version of firmware should I download to recover the OS now? And what could I do to Un-brick my device? Someone who could give me some advice or assistance? Thank you all!
Try Smart Switch. It will automatically download the correct firmware for you.
Hmmmmm what update were you trying to flash in odin and i would check the back of your phone bc it should say exactly what model it is (935x) just to be sure then flash the LASTEST firmware to get yourself up and running then if you want Ufirmware go ahead flash that

Thanks, I've tried Smart switch, but it doesn't work, fortunately, it's resolved by flashing the latest G935U firmware

SHA256 Invalid error when flashing unlocked firmware to unlocked S8

Hello,
I flashed my factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 with the Verizon carrier firmware awhile back in order to gain some carrier features. Since then I have gotten a new device and want to flash my S8 back to the unlocked firmware. Flashing to the Verizon firmware was uneventful, but trying to flash it back to the factory unlocked XAA U1 firmware always results in a SHA256 Invalid error right after I click Start in Odin. I've tried the Prince Comsy version as suggested on a few threads, but it just gives a failed to write error. I have also tried another firmware version download (from Updato), different versions of Odin, and different PCs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Anyone?
Still haven’t been able to find a fix for this. Tried with a patched version of Odin to bypass the SHA256 check, but it’s giving me a different error. I’ve attached photos of the exact error messages below. Surely someone here knows something about this?
download latest firmware
its maybe because you are flashing old file with v1 bootloader

Well, you were pretty close. For anyone who is interested, the issue I’ve discovered is that the current Verizon firmware has bootloader v4 on it, and the latest U1 firmware only goes up to bootloader v3. Looks like I’ll just have to wait it out.

Yes, I was getting that error because the unlocked firmware I was trying to flash had an older boot loader than the Verizon firmware that was on the phone. Had to wait until an updated version of the unlocked firmware was uploaded.

I don’t quite remember, I sold that phone soon afterwards. It has something to do with the name of the firmware, I’m sure Google could help you there.
