Best Custom ROM for daily driver?

Hello what would be the most stable ROMs available for OP5. I wanna try out.

I tried almost every custom ROM, for my needs i think the Fusion rom is the best stable daily driver.
The only thing that needs to be done is replace AOSP stock apps (dailer,messenger,clock) with the OpenGapps versions.
Battery is awsome and its snappy/stable as hell
Feel free to ask if you have any questions

Lightning kernel Comes with the rom and works fine.

But every time I flash the fusion rom I get errors like .comandroid what to do with that.????

If the error comes right after flashing the ROM (first boot) just reboot your system while on the welcome screen, should work fine after that

Tried it yes, but out of all i like the Fusion the most atm (Nexus addict)
All roms are amazing but imo fusion fits my needs

I tried RR and Legend ROM and their fingerprint scanner is slower. Why is it?

Honestly. They are both based off of LOS so they will not be very different except for some options here or there. So if one has an issue then both normally does. Mainly if it is a LOS issue.
Then you have the difference between AOSP code and the code that is "made" for the device. The closed sourced code will always work better. That is just the way it is.

where are all the jellybean ROMs at? jk
i'm partial to paranoidandroid, myself, but can also attest to freedom os as well. both are great.

oreo as daily driver ?

I just bought a op2 with broken glass i will try to fix. When it is fixed i was wondering if there is a oreo os that is ready as a daily driver or i just should use a nougat version.

Oreo is very much stable.

I would stay on N, unless you want the bare minimum system, lin15 has a release, it could have bugs, but I don't think there is something wrong with it. I'm still on mm though, it does have better camera (since HAL3 hack isn't that good)

so one says oreo, and another says nougat but uses marshmellow

Of course. I also use oreo as daily driver. before make a clean flash and you will have no bugs

No the reason is that the setup wizard has always closed and I could not configure the one plus 2.

Validus from Ground Zero Roms is my current daily driver. Pretty smooth and literally no issues since I installed it a while ago. Actually more stable than any nougat rom I ever tried. And I tried a lot of them

I'm running LineageOS and really do like it. However I am a crack flashing addict and was wondering if there are other ROM's out there. If there are where can I find them??

There's RR builds but devs haven't posted them on XDA. They can be found on discord though.

Uber Rom , Resurrection Remix, XenonHD,Paranoid Android can all be found on the Discord Server.

I'm a flasha'holic so yes I've tried all of them. Favorite ROM so far are RR,XenonHD , and Paranoid Android.

What Discord server is this? Does anyone have a link?

RR most unstable random reboots, but then again with all the features it offers I'm not surprised. Still using it as my daily drive though.
Other have not given me any issues at all.

I loved RR but couldn't get OK Google to work. Got a reboot Everytime I tried to record my voice

Weird. It's working for me great. Wiped all user data before installing, and running Magisk with injected YouTube background playback to perfection. Also, loving that full screen immersion is working. I fell in love with this device all over again.

Yeah I did a full wipe too and couldn't get it to work on the last two builds. I have lineage setup now and will give the next update a shot

BTW, I don't use the option to wake the screen with OK Google. Maybe that's where the issue was?

Yeah, you're right. The hot word detection doesn't work, but if you turn off the option to wake the screen, voice actions work when u long press the home button. Still not a deal breaker for me.

There is no best ROM. Just install the one with the specification that could please you. Same for kernels.
ROM is a matter of personal taste

No matter what rom you try.. fingerprint doesn't work yet

As someone who has tried them all, the treskmod omnirom by max tresk is by far the romkiller. It's the best period. Not on this forum. Google Fu it.

I preferred stock after trying a few AOSP ROMs about a week ago. The battery life and stability of stock alongside having a working FP scanner and the nice screen-off gestures were enough to keep me on stock. At least OnePlus's OS is very close to a stock Android experience.

A few of us would counter that tresk mod on this device operates smoother than stock. Gestures included, in built theming. And no fingerprint, but I don't ever use it anyways. I get 11 hrs sot.

Tresk Mod is pretty good and the in built kernel is really good. No need to use another one. There is also an official Dirty Unicorn Fajita built. Both you will not found on XDA....

Stock, Unlocked BL, Magisk, ElemetalX kernel.
Add in some Magisk modules and call it a day.
Everything including Pay and the FP sensor work.

Hi, just a quick side question. Does this ROM come with a custom kernel? And if so, is it RedFlare? Because i have heard about RedFlare kernel and not sure if its the same that comes with the ROM.

Yes redflare is from treskmod. It has the latest in built. There is one for other roms on the site but newer in the rom

I haven't tried many ROM's yet but I'm really liking Havoc. It's loaded with options and runs smoother than Stock. I actually really hate OOS which is why I finally decided to root and install something else after over 4 months on OOS. Most overrated phone OS in history.

Hows the ROM for you? I am runninf stock non rooter etc. But nothing has conviced me to switch yet. I have heard great things about the developer. Is there any official forum or telegram of the development of treskmod omnirom?

I only run treskmod. It's perfect. Like I said oos has become a buggy mess to me. This rom is like it's made for it

I bought a oneplus 6T and i want a custom ROM with a working FP but most of the ROM's i see dont have a working FP.
Whch of the custom ROM'S have a working Fingerprint??

Honestly, face unlock seems to be more reliable with this phone at this time. Maybe a firmware update will fix that down the road (or maybe I just have gross hands) but sometimes throughout the day I would have to scan my thumb / finger more than once to get it.

As mentioned already, none at the moment.
Keep an eye out for Android Q, the fp scanner might make an appearance on custom ROMs then.
Check out the thread I'll link below to see where development is at. Right now it seems to be halted until Android Q.

Let's hope that we have a fingerprint with Android Q.
About facelock,,, I had that too but I think the fingerprint is more safe, reliable.

The OOS based Roms have working Fingerprint, only the AOSP based ones can't get it to work yet.
I'm using Renovate Ice Rom/Magisk Module and I like the customization options. Has working Fingerprint.

I think I have to take the XXX_ no limits module then I had it previously on my OnePlus 6 .
