After trying a bunch of options, I had to turn to asking for help please.
I installed TWRP and rooted via Magisk a few weeks ago. Everything worked perfectly for a few weeks. Then, suddenly the screen had an issue where the touchscreen stopped working. I could boot back to TWRP but the touchscreen was still not working. After allowing the battery to drain to 0, the touchscreen started working again.
I got into TWRP and tried to restore a previous backup, but suddenly the screen got stuck at the SAMSUNG screen.
Since then I have tried a factory install, a wipe of the data/system file, I tried an install from a stock image I got here, etc. Somewhere in the last 3 days (yes, been trying for 3 days) I managed to wipe the OS.
TWRP 3.3.1-0 is still installed, and I can access that. Note: I see the following in RED when I try a restore.
E: FBE found but FBE support not present in TWRP
Could anyone please assist in this ?

Reflash stock firmware via ODIN
then reinstall twrp
Or if you don't have a pc download a GSi in another phone with a SD card , extract the .img GSi file , put the sd card in your phone and flash it via Twrp to SYSTEM
Also use twrp 3.0.2-0 because newer versions are reported to have some problems

OK, two main questions.
- Which GSi would you recommend for the A20.
- How do I downgrade to TWRP 3.0.2-0, as I could only find the one version for the A20

Gsi* - I recommend HavocOs
Very stable , everything works and no bugs so far.
Been using it as my daily driver for like 2 weeks!
And as for twrp you can retry with the one you have but I don't know if the problem will happen again.
I'm sorry I have lost the link that I found my twrp
OK. I have tried a few GSI roms, but all of them the same problem where the phone gets stuck in the bootloader. I finally just decided to go back to standard Samsung ROM, but my touchscreen is dead. I am currently setting it up using an OTG connector with a USB mouse ....
Any idea what I can try. Yesterday the touchscreen was working in TWRP, but, after numerous retries and flashing that is no longer working. I do not want to chuck the phone ...

hi guys,
my find 5 was having some reboot issues (it was rebooting a few times per day) and that was a bit anoying. I was using an old original FW so i decided to update to a newer one. Heard good stuff about the Omni so i went for that, so i was using TWRP 2.4.1.0 (i think... i'm sure it was 2.4.x) and on the omni page they said we have to use TWRP 2.6 so i went for an update.
here, i think, i've created my problem. I used the new flashify app to install the TWRP but instead of choose recovery img i choosed to flash the boot and i guess i'd flashed the TWRP on the boot.
well anyaway, now i'd installed the TWRP 2.6.3.1 i manage to start the phone in fastboot and recovery all good here, i install every rom nice and easy over TWRP but the phone simply doesn't start, it gets stuck on Touchscreen Firmware Update please wait.... this happens ALWAYS with what version of TWRP or even if i install CWM...
my guess is that i'd messed up some partition or so i don't really know what but i'd tried to format every partition that TWRP let me and still getting the freackin Touchscreen Frim updt screen... so need some Pro help to help me undo the mistake i'd done...
thanks for everything
On the official Oppo forum's there's a guide on how to install the latest Omnirom. Under known issues it says:
5)After installing the TWRP recovery the Screen Touch firmware update goes on for more than 5-7 minutes, do a hard reboot and you would be fine,

I haven't tried it myself since I didn't get the problem when flashing Omni and Asylum, but it seems to be worth a shot.

Hi friends! I really feel frustrated with this phone.
I began by using fastboot to flash TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-1-s2), used it to flash Lineageos 13.0, but IR BLASTER doesn't work, then I flashed 14.1 and IR blaster, Sim detection, flashlight and camera don't work correctly, I tried Resurrection remix and MIUI8 too but I gave up, neither of those Custom Roms works as I wanted them to.
So I went back to EUI and all was well until I wanted to update OTA, it gave me an error every time, tried to do it with update.zip but nothing, using stock recovery and nothing. I used TWRP and wipe everything again, now this thing won't start it just bootloops, I tried everything for two days and every time I use a stock ROM (5.8.020s) it gives me an error, or tells me it can't be read. When I factory reset and format everything it tells me I dont have an OS installed, so I'm completely lost I don't know what else to do and I can't return the phone because I'm overseas right now.
I really need to have it as when I got it the first time because at least it was functional but I just can't get it to work
I could really use some help right now :crying: thanks in advance guys!

So I managed to fix the problem. When you root this phone or in fact just flash a custom recovery like TWRP, it changes the model of the phone, If you unroot the phone you won't be able to receive OTAs anymore even if you are on stock ROM, you'll always get an error at the end of the update even if you do it manually, if you are dumb like me and didn't make a backup of your stock system, you won't find any help on the internet more than to install a custom ROM and learn to live with the errors and bugs. I did not want that so to be able to get the phone to its factory state, what I did was this:
1. Download: stock recovery image for Le s3 x522 (official, you can find it anywhere), LeEco_X522_5.8.019S_OTA.zip, bootloader-20S-s2.zip, twrp_s3.img (the chinese TWRP recovery) and S2_X522-NA-OP-IFXNAOP5802102141S-5.8.021S.zip
2. Save those zips to the root of the phone, obviously the .img files you are going to flash them through your PC
3. Put the phone in bootloader mode. command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (the official recovery)
4. fastboot boot twrp (the chinese one)
5. From this step what I did was pure luck
6. wipe cache and dalvik and install LeEco_X522_5.8.019S_OTA.zip
7. wipe cache and dalvik and install bootloader-20S-s2.zip
8. wipe cache and dalvik and install S2_X522-NA-OP-IFXNAOP5802102141S-5.8.021S.zip
9. Reboot
How and Why did this worked I don't know, I am a noob but please try if you find yourself in the same situation as I was, you don't lose anything with trying, if this doesn't work don't blame me, this worked for my phone.
Greetings friends!
Thanks for putting this guide together, I am in a similar situation in that I reverted to stock everything (1. Installed YDSS chinese twrp, 2. Installed S2_X522-NA-OP-IFXNAOP5802012141S-5.8.020S.zip. This flash was supposed to have installed the stock recovery and overriden the ydss twrp, but didn't, I had to manually flash that after. Everything came back smooth but my updates also failed at recovery.
I am wondering where you got the LeEco_X522_5.8.019S_OTA.zip, bootloader-20S-s2.zip & twrp_s3.img from?
Nice to hear you finally got it to work ! Aren't the X520 and the X522 the same phone ? Why official ROMs are not compatible ?
So I've installed TWRP onto my S8 and have wiped it completely, though I did have to change and then change back the file formats so that TWRP would register them correctly
I downloaded renovate ice 1.1, copied it onto my sd card and then flashed it everything installed well
When I then reboot it doesnt get past the first screen as in showing (not sure if it freezes at this point but have left it for 2 hours so Im guessing so)
Samsung Galaxy S8 POWERED BY android
Then the only thing I can do is get the phone back into recovery mode (then when I go to reboot it says there is no OS)
Before I installed the custom ROM I had an error message stating that the integrity verification had failed, I pressed on believing that this would be fixed once I had installed renovate
I know that my phone is a exynos variant, is there any way to check exactly what variant withing TWRP
The download mode is still working
Extra Information
and also when I go into TWRP it asks me about if it should be only system read each time it starts up
it also prompts for me to install the app when I try to reboot through TWRP though I believe that is normal

I've tried to install the Batman ROM but to the same avail,
still prompting me to install the TWRP official app (but not always)
am going to try reinstalling twrp using odin
could it have anything to do with knox values changing (need to research)
installed batman rom after using Odin to BL some new firmware(think that's what its called) onto the device
now am stuck on the next boot loading screen
will wait for some time to see if its my phone
-so 1 problem was due to the previous stuff on the device hopefully this means that the integrity verification thing is fixed (not sure how to check
-still havent re-'downloaded' a new twrp via odin, may try next
-could also try reinstalling batman as it was installed before the firmware, may be worth it
-could try to use default rom (need to find download page)
not sure about next step
reinstalled renovate and booted up and got back to the verification failed screen, may have something to do with me selecting knox when I installed it
-niw will try to solve integrity verification problem as when I try to reset it wont work w/ twrp
Maybe too many little things that are causing issues, maybe rather just use Samsung Switch and do a recovery and it will reinstall as per stock, then try the rooting, custom ROM thing from scratch. I know I battled with mine, got TWRP installed but coult get passed samsung boot screen. So i did used Samsung Switch recovery function and got phone back to stock, now I just use package disablers to kill stuff and all is well.
at first, why did you choose renovate 1.1 when 2.2 is availiable?
i would start from scratch again...
flash stock rom via odin. boot and test device. there should be no problem, after this, flash twrp again and put latest renovate rom on memory or external usb device.
with aroma installation you can choose to full wipe your phone. this should make no problems.

I tried to open samsung switch earlier but it believed that my phone was no longer supported and I guessed that this was due to the rooting, what mode where you in to be able to connect to samsung switch
not sure now but atm I cant get into TWRP anymore
Put phone into download mode, then use recovery option on switch.

as long as you are abel to go into download mode, everything is fine.
flash stock again -> twrp -> custom rom with full wipe in aroma installer
reverted back to stock os using odin
checked that all is well and there was no lasting damage (knox was still working fine)
reinstalled twrp, same problem happened again with twrp not recognising the internal storage so had to reset the file format
flashed the batman rom, now am back at the second boot screen and cannot get past

Hi,
I have a rooted OP5, running 5.1.7 and TWRP. I used Oxygen Updater to download the new android 9 ROM. I tried to install via TWRP, but got an error about zip compatability & a treble problem. I found a thread stating that I needed a newer TWRP to fix the treble problem, so I installed TWRP_3.2.3-Pie_siankatabg_OP5 , which said it had Pie support, from here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903996029
That worked fine, but when I tried to flash the 9 ROM, I got still got the same error. Another post said to remove compatibility.zip from the ROM zip. I did that, and it now installed, but it wouldn't boot. Re-flashing 5.1.7 booted fine. I tried another TWRP - twrp-3.2.3-0-20181227-codeworkx-nocompatcheck-cheeseburger from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-oxygenos-5-0-t3725723
That installs, and boots to system, but won't boot to recovery, so I can't install the 9 ROM.
Any ideas where I go from here to upgrade to 9?
Thanks!

Hi, I got Pie to install with TWRP_3.2.3-Pie_siankatabg_OP5 on my device.
Go to this link:

And follow my post on the part where it says:

Let us know if those steps work for you. The firmware is linked to on there, pre-modified. Try flashing that pre-modified zip and see if your device boots.

It sounds like you did not follow the detailed flashing instructions in the first post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003
Is your device storage encrypted or decrypted? Have you flashed magisk? Have you used an older magisk(your end link leads to my post where I mention that)? Have you downloaded the rom file without compatibility.zip or did you removed it on your own?

Thanks for the links both, but still no go. I was on Magisck 17.1, uninstalled Magisk with the latest uninstaller, flashed the ROM with compatability.zip already removed. Same result as before - I get the oneplus logo, then it just reboots instead of starting the system. I've only wiped cache & dalvik, I don't really want to wipe more than that if I can help it - it is worth trying a system/vendor/data wipe? I recovered by flashing back to 5.1.7 (also updated to Magisk 18 while I was at it).
Any more ideas? One thing I find a little weird is that I'm on the @siankatabg TWRP, when I tried either the bluespark & codeworx TWPR, I couldn't get into recovery with either, I just got a blank screen with a LED staying on light blue. Only the siankatabg recovery works. Surely any of them should work? Does this point to a problem?
I'm not sure what you mean by encrypted or not - I get messages about unencrypting when going into recovery, which I assume means I am encrypted?
THanks!

Maybe try backing your device up, and then locking the bootloader. Try updating with stock recovery on a locked bootloader. If that works, you can then unlock the bootloader and copy your data back

Please use an older recovery like twrp-3.2.3-0-20181031-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img the actual pie recoveries require pie firmware(mentioned in last post of blue spark thread for example).

OK, I understand now - if I use an older TWRP, or the siankatabg version, it works fine. I can then flash the Pie ROM, however it still won't boot - I get the oneplus logo, then it just reboots. However having done the Pie flash, I can then flash the more recent TWRPs (codeworx or Bluespark), and can now get into recovery fine. However Pie still won't boot - I've even tried re-flashing the Pie ROM from within the newer TWRPs, but the result is the same - it gets to the oneplus logo, then reboots. At this stage I guess wiping system/vendor/data is the only way forwards?
*Edit* - OK, so wiping everything fixed the issue, I'm now on Pie. Flashing Magisk didn't work when flashing the ROM, but I'll try again once it's finished downloading all my apps etc.
Hello everybody.
Twice I tried to install LineageOS 18 on my 6T, equipped with latest OxygenOS/Android 11 version, without any success despite having followed several tutorials on Youtube and on websites.
Two days ago I unlocked the bootloader, I restarted the phone from the PC in Fastboot mode and I tried to install the TWRP recovery, always getting an error and when it seemed that I had succeeded the phone restarted showing the message "Qualcomm Crashdump" and the phone was dead.
Fortunately, a Wipe Data from the Recovery allowed me to get the 6T working again.
Last night I tried again by installing the LineageOS recovery first, I restarted the phone and I realized that it was in bootloop.
At this point I could only restart it in Recovery or Fastboot mode, without being able to start the 6T correctly; not even a wipe data helped me.
At that point I used the MSM download Tool, with which I was able to reinstall OxygenOS v9.xx and restart the 6T, then updating it to OxygenOS 11.
The drawback now is that when I turn on the phone it takes over a minute to boot (the two dots around the OnePlus symbol make a good 37 laps, after which the phone starts up and works perfectly).
How can I fix this slow boot problem?
And why has it become so difficult to install a custom ROM on the 6T? It occurs to me that OnePlus has deliberately complicated things to hinder modding.

Did you get twrp installed? Wipe data by typing yes after flashing?

You can follow this. If you want to install lineage os and want Google service make sure follow the "non gapp version" under installation method.
Havoc Flashing Notes for OnePlus 6 /6T from OOS 11 [Using TWRP Recovery]
1. Clean Flash : 2. Dirty Flash 3. Update oos base 1. Clean Flash : 🔊 Make sure you've backed up whatever data you want to keep to somewhere that's not on your phone; we're going to format the data partition and you're going to lose everything from internal storage. Basic requirements ○...

Thanks for replies.
I must add this point: my 6T has OxygenOS v11.1.1.1; maybe this the reason of the problem? Maybe OnePlus did something that screws any modding attempt?
I simply followed the instructions found on YouTube, in the LineageOS' Fajita page and installed TWRP, but my 6T went in "Qualcomm Crashdump" and TWRP was not working → phone bricked.
Then I've tried installing, in the same way via ADB and Fastoot commands the Lineage Recovery, that has worked but when I tried to boot system, keeping OxygenOS, the phone went in bootloop.
So where is the error/fault?
Please, help me with a step-by-step tutorial that lead me to successfully install TWRP and LineageOS on my 6T.

OnePlus definitely didn't do anything to make it harder. You need to fastboot boot twrp.img then flash the twrp installer zip. I'll attach both In next post. Reboot to recovery. Then install OOS, twrp installer, reboot to recovery. Install oos again, twrp installer again, reboot to recovery. Now install lineage, twrp installer, reboot to recovery. Install lineage again, twrp installer again, reboot to recovery. Factory reset and wipe data by typing yes. Boot to system
The img is for fastboot boot
The zip is for installing in twrp
Thanks for your reply.
I'm still wondering how to speed up the boot.

If everything is installed correctly it won't take long to boot

There is clearly something wrong, as my 6T's boot is slow.
Furthermore, the Recovery of the previous message is the one I downloaded three days ago and that made me go to the 6T in Qualcomm Crashdump.
I repeat my request: where can I find a safe and updated guide that explains how to install LineageOS without risk?
If you can't fastboot boot into that twrp on a11 without crash dumping there is something really wrong

You sure you didn't try 3.6.0_9?
Clearing your cache might help with current boot. But once you install a new os everything will run smooth like it should
Thank you for the advice.
1) I've downloaded "twrp-3.6.0_9-0-fajita.img" and tried to install it several times, getting errors and then bricking my phone.
2) I have already cleared the cache several times from Recovery, without anything having changed; the two white dots on the boot screen continue to rotate 37 times around the red dot before the phone starts up and then works perfectly.
It occurred to me that the MSM Download Tool program uses a decrypted image of the original firmware; could this possibly be the cause of the long boot?

That twrp version always will crash dump on a11. Use the one I sent
I followed these steps:
after having managed to make MSM Download Tool detect the phone in EDL mode, I proceeded by reinstalling OOS v9.0.13, after which I reconfigured the phone and restored the apps backup stored in my Google account.
Later, I don't remember the details well, I received the update notification for OOS v10 and later for OOs v11.1.2.2.
I don't remember exactly where the boot started to stretch, however this is more or less the process I followed to bring my 6T back to life.

Are you sure that this TWRP will work without problems?
I've tried also with Lineage Recovery for Fajita, resulting with the 6T in bootloop :-(

I promise it works. I do t know what happened with your previous updating and msm tool but something sounds messed up. Just get twrp running and ease all your problems. Clean flashing and getting everything fresh

Another question: assuming I can install TWRP and make it working, LineageOS image must be copied in the 6T's internal SD and proceeding to install from TWRP?

Or you could use USB OTG. Or a PC and use adb sideload
