It seems like many Arabians (UAE,Kuwait,Egypt etc) are active in here i think we deserve a united thread for all our news/discussions starting with release dates/prices so i hope this will be the one thread for all of us
So far the Note II landed in Kuwait/UAE for about 760$ and supposed to land in KSA in 3/4 days for 740$ I'm interested in prices W/O warranty to be honest anyone knows supposed prices for these units?​

Just kidding... Of course Israel is no included in the middle east releases... We have here a very bad importer! It took them forever to get the first Note. (They import fast only the Galaxy S series)

I honestly dont know mate, and believe me they will never be as bad the importers here in Egypt, quite annoying to find the Note prices in Canada (Int version) are higher than the Gulf/ME so i will just get it from here :angel:

I checked a Saudi Telecom company website to check if they have the note and its their for pre-orders and in the listings it says 4G,but honestly the whole middle east will get the international version which INDEED have 4G, but we already dont have 4G so its quite useless maybe that's what he meant that it wont work so only 3G will work :fingers-crossed:

I wouldn't recommend to buy without warranty, you end up paying around a 100 $ less and take a risk of getting a faulty device.

I know mate but i dont live in the Gulf so taking a ticket from here back to there to just fix a phone doesn't sound very ECONOMICAL to me :laugh:
i have family members there but between there have annual vacations i would rather have fixed it my self by that time!

Oh ...Axiom Dubai.... I had the worst experience with them... for the after sale support. I bought Nexus 7 from them and I got a defective product sent it for replacement . Close to 1 month now ..still has no idea (for myself and axiom) when I will get it back..

[Q] Preorder deals in germany

Hi guys,
after a long time of absence i'm finally going to come back to the HTC folks. Has anyone seen good preorder deals in Germany? If i look to idealo (the standard german comparison site), i only see way too expensive deals starting from 666 €.
If i look to clove i'd have to pay 610 € for the preorder deal (incl. shipment - 32GB version)
Idealo has the 64gb version for 780 €.. Way too expensive if you ask me.
So.. I'd like to have the 64GB version.
Any comments welcome..

But you are forced to make a contract later in the buying process.
The Media Markt deal seems to be good. I already have good headphones and i'm not eager to go through the stress with selling them on ebay. Although there's no 64GB variant available anywhere.

Vodafone Germany starts selling the new One on Friday, 22nd.
600€ without contract but you have to register online for further news.

9,99€ only? the sales rep shows me something like 1€ +25€ +10€ for the first month......I didn't quite catch her. But she said the Pre-ordered customers will get the devices on the 8th or 9th March.
Personally, I won't buy it at O2. If not at Vodafone in Berlin, I'll wait for Mediamarkt or Saturn. Hope at that time the shops will have some special offer or voucher to give.

I guess you can also make use of the german "Widerruf"-law and only cancel the contract and keep the phone.

I think there must be some hidden trap in the O2 contact. O2 will not be so stupid to let the customers so easy to cancel the contracts.

UK Thread for the brave

I've ordered a dual sim Note 5 for delivery mid week next week.
In this thread hopefully we can help each other to get the best from the various versions which we will import from all corners of the globe.
Edit - ordered model 9208 from Taiwan. But can now get this in the UK from UK ebay sellers. I have 4g on Vodafone only near Stratford and Canning Town in London so far.
Edit - if you want a device compatible with UK 4g networks go for the N920c variant.

I've got an imported n920i and so far no issues with calls or 3G - I don't have a 4G contract to test that but i'm on EE and this model has been tested successfully on EE 4G by others.
The other bonus of importing the n920i was it came with a UK plug, no adapter needed!

Where did you guys import from?

Awaiting Delivery of an N920i ordered from Ebay for £493.
Hoping there are no problems using on the 3 network with 4G.

You're right about Band 20. But the 9208 spec mentions Band 18 for 800mhz. I'm not too concerned as I will use Vodafone and EE (dual sim)

Ordered the 64gb n9208 off ebay, so far so good! No import duties as well luckily 550 all in. Using 4g on ee

Mine was from ebay as well. Got the 32gb version for £464 and then import vat was £30.
Dhl text me the amount due and I paid online and it didn't delay delivery. I ordered last Thursday and it was delivered Monday so almost as quick add ordering in the uk

SM-920C bought from middle east works fine on Virgin haven't tried 4G.

N920i 64gb black no issues with Three 4G

Can any one post impresions on N920i on Three UK 4G hows its working?

I'm interested too, I really want a dual sim but band 20 missing is probably a bad idea in the long run so may have to get 920c .. Heard 920cd is coming with dual sim but unclear if that's got band 20

Those approx. mhz numbers can be confusing, we have to stick to the Bxx codes and ask for them when they are missing.
While B18, B19 and B20 are often marked as "800mHz", you can see from the table in the link with precise frequencies none will work for the other.

Few markets have already received this version of S7e. But will this version come to europe i need to know this because i'd wait for it they ship it to Europe else i'll buy the gold one.

Grab one off of Ebay or something, don't settle for the gold, the Blue Coral is actually very very good looking in real life.
The one I bought here in Pakistan had French branding, so I'm sure it'll be launched in Europe.
Also, the box had the sticker on it saying 'European SIM card only', so I'm sure the device will be launched there.

Only the American variants have the S7 edge branding on the back, this one says Duos since it's the Dual SIM one.

I'm not sure if there is a G935F single SIM one since the shop I went to only had 935FD Duos models. I agree the Duos texts really ruins the look of the phone, it's even worse on my Black Onyx S7e.
As for the shoes, I'm quite surprised that whoever I showed this picture to also noticed my shoes 😂
Then again, considering the coral blue that I bought had a European ROM on it, I'm sure a single SIM variant will exist and be available somewhere.

So in duos if you put 2 sim cards will you also be able put a sd card? My bro has silver s7e and dad is getting gold...who knows when coral blue will be available in Europe

There was a modification you could do that would require you to peel off the gold part of your SIM card and glue it on to a microSD card and use them both at the same time, but:
1) There were reports of SIM trays getting jammed.
2) It could damage your SIM card.
3) Samsung might have disabled it with a software update.
The second slot is a hybrid slot, you can either use it as a second SIM card slot or an SD card slot but not both.

4GB RAM upgraded of my Nexus 5X

My Nexus 5x was bought last year from Hong Kong and got a bootloop issue just after the warranty :crying: So far, i know google has known this issue and there is a recall in US, Korean LG has offered a unlimited warranty to this bootloop issue. However, LG customer center from Hong Kong has rejected any maintenance of the cpu if outside its warranty
Thereafter, i decided to send my 5x to China for CPU fixing, as the RAM is packed with the CPU together, the guy suggested me upgrading it to 3 or 4 GB RAM. That's how the 4GB RAM 5X comes out.
I've tested the OTA works fine from 6.0.1 to 7.1.1, all functions works fine too. :highfive:

Since i posted this post, i learnt something about the CPU from 5x, and how can it be upgraded, let me explain to you guys first. :highfive:
The packaging technique of 5x is using PoP, or package on package, which the processor package has pads on the top for the RAM chip and BGA on the bottom to attach to the PCB, its saves board space at the expense of assembly cost. This simply means the RAM sits on top of the SoC.

Thereafter, i decided to send my 5x to China for CPU fixing, as the RAM is packed with the CPU together, the guy suggested me upgrading it to 3 or 4 GB RAM. That's how the 4GB RAM 5X comes out.
I've tested the OTA works fine from 6.0.1 to 7.1.1, all functions works fine too. :highfive:

it is unoffical, btw anyone know how to re-enable the SECURE BOOT, as my 5X has disabled it

no bugs at all, i felt opening the camera is must faster than before :laugh:

Can you provide us an email address, or any other way to contact the guy who "upgraded" your 5X? I would be interested (me and many others) in ordering the necessary part/s, and to do the transplant/implant operation at a local service...

i just contact him via WeChat, however i don't believe he knows English well
btw, if your devices isn't get into Bootloop issue, i don't recommend you to upgrade it,
take your own risk if your devices cannot boot up after upgrade

I heard that the storage can be upgraded as well, but 32gb still enough for me.

I would do same thing but my phone is under warranty so it's useless upgrading. Thanks for anwser.
