[Q] Voice Commands - Bluetooth - [ROM] Roto JME Pre-Rooted Firmware v4 [Jan 9, 2011]

I am running [ROM] Roto JME Pre-Rooted Firmware v4 [Jan 9, 2011]; Thanks Roto!
Immediately after purchasing from Bell Canada, I flashed Roto's firmware to obtain voice functionality. One item really bothers me; voice commands over bluetooth.
Is the lack of voice commands using bluetooth on the Samsung Tab a common deficiency?
I am having a hard time convincing myself that European and Asian Tab users accept this, while other smartphones have voice commands enabled.
Is this a Samsung deficiency, or a by-product of JME?
How are others handling this? I am not doing well with Vlingo or Google Voice, so mostly just bearing with the lack of native voice command support in JME.
Any comments on the likelihood of voice commands being included in a near future firmware release.

It appears to be an issue with the VoiceDialer.apk that comes with some of the roms. Someone posted a version that does work over BT, at least for dialing. It only works with English though, and there doesn't appear to be any voice feedback (like the "Call xxx on xxx" prompt).

I have a stock UK Tab and if you want voice commands over bluetooth just install 'Magic dialler and Cyberron Voice Commander, then reboot. I cant remember which one actually enables voice command over bluetooth but once you have rebooted pressing the headset button brings up a selection box for whichever voice command program you wish to use, i personally have set Vlingo as the default or you could use Magic, Cyberon or Google.....
Then it works just as you want as long as you dont uninstall the above mentioned programs.

Okay so i have a worse problem. i cant use my bluetooth with any voice calling software. including OOVOO, Skype, Yahoo, Tango and clearsea.
My UK tablet is running a rooted xxJMC for build number, and p1000xxjm6 for baseband version.
My bluetooth head set is Class 2.0+EDR Jaybird SB2

Anyone else having Buletooth problems ? is the ROM ?

My new Tab is a Uk model, completely out of the box stock and the google voice app will not accept voice input over bluetooth. I'm not entirely sure it's accepting call voice over bluetooth either. I only had one call since I got the headset though so it could be my imagination.
Apologies for hijacking the thread slightly but is there a way to make the tab run google voice as the default action for pressing the call button on the BT headset? Mine has decided that I want it to run Winamp and start playing music... I've killed winamp process and checked that there are no "Launch by default" actions associated with the app. Any other ideas?

Galaxy Tab does not support voice command over bluetooth.
My headset plays back music and good for voice calling.
I can get voice navigation sound from gps software.
However I cannot talk over bluetooth headset for skype, etc.

[Q] Partial Skype possibilty?

One ideal Skype use is to be able to communicate via WiFI in any country. However, there appears there is yet no way to send voice into the nook, either Bluetooth or USB headset.
There are reports of folks being to hear but not send.
For travelers, would it be possible to send tones to a voice connection that would provide access to voice mail which could be listened to???
Any thoughts appreciated.

If i remember correctly all voice drivers were removed and the headphone slit in the nook does not support voice input either

The query is whether touch-tones can be digital generated to operate devices or VM remotely using Skype. The connection is complete, all that is needed are the tones.

Add on to skype question
I'd like to add on to the previous skype question about the nook color. Even though there is no camera, and no microphone, is there a way to still receive calls(video and/or audio). I've done some testing and it seems I can't receive calls or my friends video because it won't pick up a cam or mic from the nook color.
A suggestion to what I'm asking is to find a way to simulate or make a fake virtual camera that's blank so that skype will think there is a camera, and receive video from the other end of the call.
Any help is appreciated

Skype does have a dialpad built into it. If you click on the little bubble with the plus on it, there should be an option. I tried it with mute on, though, and it didn't play the DTMF tones. I wasn't sure if you tried that already or not. Surely there is a way to do this.

I'm not sure if I fully understand. If audio maybe the issue, is video a viewable possibility for skype calls? If so, any ways to accomplish that?

If you still need Skype with dialpad (removed in latest version) you can use the 2.9.0.315 version. Download it from androiddrawer.com

Adas hd dvr

Forgive me if this is posted in the wrong forum but I could not find a specific Android apps for cars forum. I am running a AVIN Avant-4 with DDVR-CAM2 camera system and app. My question is the ADAS function of the camera system regarding the warning alerts. My warning alerts are a nice Chinese lady voice giving me alert warnings but I would prefer a simple beeping. Is it possible to change the voice alert to a beeping alert by modifying the directories? Someone with a better understanding of how that warning is called up maybe just a .wav file or something that can be changed or renamed? TIA

Hi! Did you figured out how to change sound? I think this is my next problem after I gor ADAS camera running...
I believe to have same camera and the software seem to be same (HD DVR). My problem is that I can’t get ADAS working. Apk in camera doesn’t have ADAS and it hasto be upgraded to have ADAS. If I upgrade HD DVR after installing, next time I open it there is message ”Sorry program appears unusual, be about to exit.”. Then program closes. I have android 10 headunit (Skyshadow) with carplay.
Anyone else have same problem or does anybody know fix for that?

Not much answers for these questions.
Does anybody know ADAS app, which works with all USB cameras? Most of them seems to be connected to camera hardware.

I ran into the same upgrade problem but finally resolved it today . The upgrade apk actually got saved into the storage after download, you just have to find it and install it from there instead with the DVR app closed. Mine was stored under /stroage/emulated/0/AnKaiDvr

How to enable voice command calls on SC9853i?

I have this variant of the intel SC9853i android head units, and one thing that I can't get over is how badly it does at calling, compared to stock head unit on my vehicle.
The bluetooth app is very depresing and finding contacts while driving is not easy and not ideal.
I would like to be able to simply use google voice command or google assistant to make calls, but every time I do I get " I cannot make calls yet"
Is there any work around? Also any way to change the music when getting a call?

hi, in my opinion, best thing to do , root your HU, and install the joying extra tools, and set the DPI to 200
i can used google now voice command and make call it works.

AC8257 Head Unit - Any ROMS available?

I've recently received a Chinese Head Unit which seems to work okay, besides from some weird quirks. See attached files for info. Was wondering if there are any ROMs available for this unit and/or ways to root it.
Weird things I've noticed:
- Unit seems to reboot randomly when using the Radio app
- When using multiple apps at the same time which are using sound, the last app which sends out a sound seems to kill off the pre-last app playing sound; say you're running Spotify and Maps at the same time, Spotify gets killed as soon as Maps spits out voice directions
- There is no way to change DPI

In the settings, you can fix everything. Allow concurrent use. Password: 8888

Russians are very good at android software
I wanted to be a member of the site, but I do not speak Russian, I could not pass the robot verification post

Hi, have the same device an i can not register becasue i can not speak russian.
I have: huafei_YT5760B_ui1_5760B-ota-20200706(1).zip installed.
My problems:
1. RDS does not longer work since this update.
2. The display brightness at night is not dark enough at night although I set it to absolute minimum. The dimming funktion works but noth enough. It dazzles me so much at night that I have to turn off the radio to drive.
3. on bluetooth calls, the voice quality is very poor. My conversation partner does not understand me because I am too quiet for him or the conversation partner hears double. I have tested several phones and it is always the same.
Maybe someone can help me! The seicane support is not able to help properly

Rds Problem was not before
Call Problem: in the older Version it was not possible to connect a phone.

Go to Factory settings (password: 8888) > App Settings > Navigation apps and select multiple apps you want to be not killed. You don't have to use those apps as the navigation app. It is only the list of apps that can be set as the default navigation app and those apps are not being killed.
