could you try testing if HDR is enabled on mi 10 pro? try shooting a video of sunset or very high contrast scene, if you can try, plz provide a comparison between non hdr phone?

Question to Mi 10 owners - how would you rate 4k60fps quality?
In some samples on youtube, I saw that 4k60 isn't fluid and drops some frames. The same it was on mi 8, but using gcam 4k60fps works quite well - much better than native cam app. Would be interesting to hear if somebody uses Filmic Pro / Mcpro24fps on Mi 10 to comment if there's some video quality increase and stability using 3rd party apps?

Video quality is actually one of the best I have ever seen on an android phone (iPhone is the king of video in my opinion) at least on the main sensor (the wide angle is very, very dark and it can't do 4k60 on native camera, only 4k30 or 1080p60) . I'm on Miui.eu beta and, at least for me, 4K60 is very fluid. But is important to say we don't have electronic image stabilization at 60fps (at any resolution) so the video is gonna be a little shaky using only optical stabilization.
Filmic pro is incapable of using the wide angle or the macro lenses, only the main one (mi9 can use all of them with the last updates of Filmic Pro), but it can do 4k60 and 1080p120. You can enable OIS, EIS or even EIS+OIS on Filmic, but EIS seems to be doing nothing actually even if you enable it. Apparently it does not works yet. I appreciate the manual controls Filmic gives you, but since Mi10 already have a manual mode for video and other advanced options like a very good LOG mode, the only real benefit of using filmic is the higher bitrate, except if you want really manual precise controls.

Interesting to know about the sensors availability on Filmic Pro. For Mi Note 10, I send request to devs through the app: information -> version x.xx.x (click) -> and press contact us (after that you will be guided to email, the app will generate metadata.json file and please write to FilmicPro devs to look up for possibility of enabling additional sensors. Thanks to Filmic Pro team they helped me and with latest update gave additional (ultrawide/tele) sensors option to use with Filmic Pro. Hope this would be with Mi 10's ultrawide camera too!

Answering your questions, yeah, I have tried a couple Gcam mods for photo and video (specially for night sight on front facing and ultra wide lenses, since Mi10 doesn't let you use might mode on front facing camera. It didn't let you use it on ultra wide neither, but xiaomi added night mode on ultra wide with an update).
At the moment, I have installed Urnyx and Nikita gcam mods. Urnyx surprisingly let me record 4K60 on the ultra wide (can't do that on native camera) but with no stabilization of any kind. And it freezes if I try to enable 60fps on the main sensor. Nikita let me actually use the main sensor at 4K 60 with EIS but it isn't even half as good as the native one, It's only a little better than using OIS only. Nikita by the way freezes when I try to use ultra wide sensor.
About mcpro24fps, there's not much to say. It can do 4k 30 on the main camera with OIS, EIS or both OIS+EIS. It can do 1080p120fps too, but for some reason it won't let me do 4K60 in any way on main camera. Mcpro24fps can use wide angle and macro lenses without any problem, but it can't do 4K60 on ultra wide, only 4k30 . Surprisingly mcpro24fps let me set the ultra wide sensor to 120fps at 720p, but it is really noisy (unusable) and the field of view seems to be cropped so it almost match the main sensor. So there's no use for it. It can also do 720p 120fps on the front camera. That's all I can say about mcpro24fps based on my testing.

Just made an interesting discovery regarding the Mi Max stock camera and 4K. I was running some tests on the stock camera vs 3rd party to check output quality, HDR speed, etc. when I noticed the stock MIUI camera app severely crops the sensor area when shooting 4K(UHD). I often use Cinema FV5 to get little more control over video when shooting on Android and found that although the MIUI camera app crops the sensor when switching to 4K vs 1080p, CFV5 does not. Nor does the Google camera app when set to 4K, you still get the same wide FOV as 1080p.
I haven't seen anything written about this so far so just wanted to flag this up as a decent workaround.

I was interested in this phone (x722) because its crazy cheap for what it offers, but at the same time I am interested in a phone with a good video recording (with stabilization) so before buying I wanted to check.
I was wondering if anyone having the x722 and having installed a custom rom and the GCam port, could tell me how it stabilizes, in which settings (4k, 1080) and if its possible to record 1080/60fps videos aswell?
If some nice person around here would do some test and check if it stabilizes video well and can record 1080/60 it would be great.

I don't have proof, but people like the camera when they're using it with the modded Gcam. 60fps recording should work with modded Gcam, but it doesn't work normally, i.e. with the stock camera or OpenCamera, despite giving you the 60fps recording option. The IMX298 takes decent 60fps, nothing special. About on par with the iPhone 6. But I don't think you get video stabilization at all. You'll have to stabilize it yourself in Google photos or something.
Source: I owned a Zenfone 3, which has the same sensor.

The OP3T has pretty good electronic stabilization and uses the same IMX298 sensor aswell, so its definitely not a sensor problem in your Zenfone.
The LeEco pretty much has the same capabilities as the OP3/3T, it should be perfectly doable
I don't know, I guess the app would have to give you the option for stabilization. I just tested video recording on my phone and it doesn't have stabilization. I used Open Camera. I'm not rooted so I can't try the modded Gcam.

Hi, guys, anyone have inverted stereo on video? I tested it in recording when I tapped on the left mic first and then on the right mic. When I watched my video the first tap was from the right channel.

4k 60 fps will be added soon. Stock camera is ****, agreed. Better use Gcam, which makes great results, and raw, particularly, looks perfect. Only downside for me is the lack of optical stabilization and second tele lens camera, but you get what you pay for.
Pixellated video on FB App
I moved on to POCO recently and found that while playing videos on FB app they look badly pixellated, especially the text parts. Youtube videos are fine. Replaced the phone, but still has the same issue. Any other person having this issue?

Anyway the video quality is good enough for me. The only annoying thing is that videos dont have the photos great, wide angle of sight. I guess it's normal?

Thank you for the post. Have you noticed any dramatic oversaturation of red on the main camera which causes faces to look sunburned or gives a red tint to the overall picture? Do you have the latest update .124 installed?

Google photos not too good to demonstrate video quality...
Just waiting for either ROOT or Huawei to unlock the Camera2.API so we can use filmic pro, LOG capturing and higher bitrates will improve the video quality to no end. Yet, Huawei ignore all requests for the C2.API and have done for years.
Video zoom issue
Guys, I recently baught P30 pro. I faced a peculiar problem. When l am taking a video in wide mode and then use the zoom button, first press takes it to 1x (from 0.6x of wide), second press takes it to 5x and third press takes it to 10x. When I press the button again it takes it back to wide angle. But between switch from 10x to wide there is an instant of very disturbed and pixelated video before wide angle takes over. This is not there between any other zoom switching (0.6x to 1x, 1x to 5x, 5x to 10x). Anybody facing the same issue?

Don't press, slide
Problem with sliding is between 1x and 5x which is a digital zoom and gets heavily pixelated. I also noticed that the problem happens when I jump from 10x to wide. Not from 10x to 1x.
What do guys think of the 1080p 60 fps quality?
For me, I find it worse!
It loses the details and textures when on this mode. It's even worse when in low light situation.

I've had the Poco X3 for about 1 week now.
Let's talk a bit about the video quality!
Your "1x" lens/setting will be the best overall video quality. The 0.6x (wide) also works fairly well, but even at the same resolution and frame rate, it is noticeably worse.
720p 30 fps: skip
1080p 30 fps: There seems to be some stuttering here and there. Auto focus works quite well and responds fairly quickly.
1080p 60 fps: Surprisingly good! It looks very smooth especially with the stabilization on (gimbal like). The auto focus doesn't respond well. Sometimes works, sometimes needs manual tapping. I don't know what's wrong with it.
4k 30 fps: Similar to 1080p but also some shakiness perhaps due to frame rate. Auto focus is available and works decently.
There are some other features such as fast object tracking, macro, steady cam. Those are nothing to write home about, but are there.
I upgraded to Poco X3 from a Redmi 6, so it was a pretty huge upgrade. Having never used more expensive phones, I'm pretty satisfied with the camera. Though, the other sensors like macro and wide are pretty much a joke compared to the primary sensor, I don't think I'll find much use of them.
With videos at 1080p and 60fps, there's definitely an auto focus problem, but hopefully some software updates would fix it and improve the overall quality.
On 12.0.3 EU Rom the Slow-Motion Videoo woth stock-camera doesn't work. In 720p mode there is no slow-motion when playing the video, in 1080p there is big stuttering. On previous 12.0.2 slow-motion worked fine.

Still works for me without any issues on 12.0.3.
First seconds are normal speed, but after a sec low and behold slomo
I have found my mistake. I had uninstalled VI video. Because of this, e.g. Google Photos could not play slow motion. Now I have installed VI video again. Slowmotion is running again.
the auto focus on X3 is wayyyyyy too aggressive.. it keeps auto focusing every 5s.. its very very irritating..
Don't really have much to say other than that I'm very happy with the electronic image stabilization on this device. It's actually pretty great especially considering it's not OIS. Most midrangers have pretty awful image stabilization, but this phone handles it quite well. I'm also fairly pleased to have 4K video & 1080p 60fps; in 2020 those should be pretty standard at this point, but you don't always see those options on budget phones. Beyond that I haven't really messed with the video or the front-facing camera to really find any major negatives.
Between the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC and the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro which has the best final camera, the measurements show the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC. But in the many times I have seen on the internet sometimes it looks like the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is good and other times the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro. What is the truth after all?
