Removing Preinstalled Google Bloat in Android 10 [OOS 10.3.1] - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
I recently updated from OOS Pie to OOS 10.3.1 and when I wanted to clean preinstalled google bloat, I found that Titanium Backup can no longer do it. Tried a few other root uninstallers, also failing every time.
Has anyone found a working workaround to remove specific google apps?
Thanks,

Try this. Download MixPlorer from XDA. And Grant it Root Explorer Permission. Now navigate to /system and delete the apps you want. On Android 10, most of the Google Apps are located in /system/product/app & /system/product/priv-app. Alternatively, some apps are also in /system/app & /system/priv-app

Tried it with solid explorer /w root privs.
Says its unable to delete/rename files from specified locations.

Try;

How to prevent "removing" app drawer (from Froyo 2.2 onwards)

A question for you. I have been looking everywhere but could not find a solution.
I am using firewall to filter calls and messages. Also I am using app protector pro to protect applications like settings, installer etc. The risk is, any one accessing to your phone can easily remove the apps (i.e App protector pro or Firewall etc..) from the app drawer (app drawer > menu > edit then touch the app to remove). Only 3rd party apps can be removed this way and not the system apps.
If there is a way to treat the 3rd party apps as system app then this accidental/mischief removal of apps can be stopped.
Is there anyone help in this..
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys,
Any thoughts in this issue.
Please help.... this may help many of the forum users..
Hey smohanv,
This will be my first post in this forum because I think I now have the knowledge to help others
So here it goes!
I used SGS Tools to remove some of my system apps.
Open SGS Tools > Cleanup System Apps and you can select which ones to delete.
It didn't took all system apps btw, I still had a few meaningless apps which I couldn't delete.
For these apps I used Root explorer to delete them manually. Be carefull tho, don't delete stuff you don't know.
Good luck.
Alright I now see my first post on this forum is a complete fail
You meant something else, treat the 3rd party apps as system apps so they won't get deleted.
Good question on which I don't know the answer yet but I did give you a bump hehe
Someone else has any suggestions?
Hi
Thanks for the response. The question is not about removing system app. The question is, how to prevent apps getting uninstalled by anyone seeing your phone. From the OS Froyo onwards, any app can be (except system app) removed just by invoking menu > remove by touching the icon.
If you have root you can copy the .apk of the app to /system/app.

Yes, as xxbeanxx said, if you have root, you can move the apps you want to protect into your /systems/ directory through ADB or through the Terminal app and that way it will not be available through the TouchWiz drawer delete option.

Thanks for the workaround. I have rooted phone. Can the apk file be moved to system/app folder using root explorer.
Thanks again. If it works through file explorer than using adb or terminal app many forum users can benefit.

Many thanks.

Stop Android Market link redirect?

Is there a way to stop the Fire from forcibly redirecting Android Market links to the Amazon Appstore? It's really starting to piss me off.
//Tapatalk.KindleFire//
Yes, Don't click on market links when you want a particular app open the Android market search for the app install it, Rinse and repeat.
Are you rooted?
If yes, it's very simple: just remove the file MarketIntentProxy.apk in /system/app.
(of course, make a backup first)
I removed this file and never had a problem... Market links open in Android Market now!

You can just rename it MarketIntentProxy.apk to MarketIntentProxy.apk.bak
Sweet! This is a very useful tip.

keep getting an error when trying to rename or delete. it says file system is read-only. how are you guys getting around this?
you have to set the directory to read write fro read only. You need Root Explorer to do this.
I'm currently using root explorer and getting that error. After reading your post I took a second look and saw the little r/w r/o button at the top of the app. Problems solved. Thanks for the help.
Glad I could help

[Q] why can't my n7 display certain files on stick?

i did root it, install stickmount. tried with both r-explorer and es explorer. the usbstorage folder showed up alright, yet files of certain type simply won't display, so far they are .apk and .dwg. it's almost like they are filtered. i checked the displaying hidden files option was ticked.
someone please help!

You have tried 2 root browsers already, I use ROM toolbox which is also a root browser with many other functions built in. Its the best app of its kind that I have used. If it doesn't find the files, then you can you can un install it.
Its a root browser for exploring root files.

Use a root browser like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, and copy the .apk files into data/app
Reboot into recovery, and fix permissions
How do I fix permissions or is there an option to do that in clockwork mod?
Also, would it be possible to use mobileodin to do that instead

Putting it into data/app installs is, fixing permissions is just so it will show in the app drawer
Make sure you have Security => Unknown Apps checked and Verify Apps unchecked
Apps install fine for me by clicking an .apk
Use Root Explorer or ES File Manager, it's probably the MY Files preventing it.
