AOD/Ambient display - notifications - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Is there someone with working ambient display in AOD when some notification comes? It worked (e.g. email or sms notification has been shown as white text on display off under the clock and date) only one day and now display is woken up when some notification comes but I do not know why. I tried a many display/notification settings but without success.

AOD/Ambient
in settings look for "new notifications" if that is on it will wake up the screen on the new notification.

SMS/MMS Envalope-type Notification

I would like to know, if there is any application, which shows large Icon for MMS/SMS notification on the Today’s screen, Basically, the Default tiny icon over the top on screen is small to notice, especially if, you put TyTn on silence OR Vibration mode.
Try phoneAlarm and turn alerts for unread SMSes and MMSes on. The latest beta provides MMS notifications separately from e-mails.

i can not set the time, how long the message notification led is flashing.
I go to sounds & notifications and there to "new message". there is a setting for the led notification but i can not set the time (it is set to 5 min.)
there is also a setting for vibration, is set this to "yes" but there is no vibration if i get a new message

Calendar and alarm notification popup

Hi, can anyone confirm if there is supposed to be a popup notification for alarms and calendar notifications. I seem to only get a notification on the task bar which I can click on to bring up a popup window.
Is there a setting for this somewhere? I would like to have an automatic popup screen with the dismiss/ snooze options.
Thanks

Click to collapse
Yes mate, there is.
Go to Settings, Menu, All Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications (tab), and select event type of "Reminders". Make sure "Display message on screen" is ticked and click OK.
That should do the trick
OK, found the cause of the problem. By activating the BsB tweak for an LED display for notifications seems to prevent the popup notification window.

[Q] LED notification bug?

This related to my S4 active, but I'm hoping the S4 is similar in this respect. I get a calendar reminders all day, and I don't dismiss them immediately as I often attend to some of them a bit later.
So for me the LED notification is useful to alert my that a new calendar reminder has gone off, but after I unlock the screen, swipe down the notification bar and select calendar notifications to see the list of notifications, and then lock the screen, I expect the blinking LED to stop, until a new reminder comes along.
Unless I'm losing my memory this has been the case with the S3 and other similar phones I've owned, where if you swipe done and look at the notification then lock the screen, the blinking stops. I tried it with email, and that works, if I just swipe down to see that there's an email notification and without dismissing lock the screen, the blinking stops, so not sure why it doesn't work with the calendar. Any ideas?
I also noticed the blinking is fast for the calendar and slow for gmail, is that on purpose?
Thanks.

Messages preview not working after Oreo upgrade

I have the S8 Plus and just upgraded to Oreo yesterday. I use the Messages app (white text bubble icon with blue background). I notice that the notification badge (the orange counter) no longer shows up on my shortcut when I have a new message. Also, the preview of the text message that used to appear at the top of my screen no longer works. Is there a setting I need to adjust, or is this just my new reality with Oreo?
Thank for any help!!
Hi
Go into settings and search for "app icon badges" this should help
Trev
I'm also having the problem of no badges showing up on any of my apps since the oreo update. All the notifications are set up to show badges, yet still nothing. I'm still also not getting edge lighting notifications when the screen is turned off.
Have you checked under Settings->apps the notificationsettings of the apps you want to notify?
App badge icon
Same issue here. I have made sure the app badge is turned on in notifications, it still doesn't work.
