I've noticed something strange happening to my phone if it's been warmed up by the sun for a few minutes - the screen stops working.
Noticed this the other day sitting in a cafe and left my phone face-down on the table (but in the sun). I picked it up to check out something and couldn't get the screen to work at all or respond to any touches. The phone felt a bit warm so I let it cool down in the shade and only then did it respond.
I also noticed this a few days later when the phone was near a window inside my home and had been in the sun for a while. Same problem and same fix - phone had to cool down before it responded.
Have also noticed this if the phone has been charging for a while and gets warm. Wondering whether it might be a CPU issue but excluded this possibility as the phone wakes up and lock screen button is still animated.
After further experimentation...noticed that a few quick taps on the power button seems to wake the phone up.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
Move to the UK, it's cold.
I put my Nexus 7, with no case may I add, in my laptop bag. In it's own compartment. I walk about 3/4 a mile to the town to catch the bus for work. Lately my nexus 7 screen has become less responsive (possibly because of the knocking?) sometimes the keyboard wont register presses or the notification bar wont register touch either. Also, if I push around the edges of the screen I get white light seeking through and ripples.
Is it worth walking to Carphone Warehouse and getting a replacement or will they not give me one?
Could it be my firmware that makes it less responsive?
Has anyone else had any problems like this?
What do you guys suggest? Thanks
In playing around with my Verizon Note Edge today, I discovered I was able to turn on the Edge screen by quickly swiping from the bottom of the edge screen, up about a third of the way, and then quickly back down (starting at the top and swiping down and then back up also works). It turns on the night clock and then started scrolling showing any pending notifications...pretty sweet! I do have the flip case on the phone, but did remove it to test it without and it still seemed to work. I have not been able to find anything documented on this, but it worked for me. Anyone else? I am really glad I made the decision to wait for the Edge!

I use action launcher 3 as launcher replacement and it has a tap feature that allows you to tap on the screen to turn it off, similar to LG G2 and G3... I use it all the time. not the same as what you posted but I wanted to share just in case someone is wondering

This hidden features hardly people knows but I already know this thing.
This can also be a hassle as I found out when the edge screen kept on rubbing against the inside of my pocket and accidentally turn on and drain my battery.
You must have some pretty tight jeans for it to do that...

This is a really cool feature - I notice that your screen stays on for sometime while scrolling thru your notifications... I have the VZW Note Edge as well but my screen times out within 30 seconds regardless of what I have my "Edge screen timeout" set to in system settings / Edge Screen - is there another way to keep the Edge screen active or from timing out so quick?
Just with the setting you already mentioned...it seems to work for me.
Use the gravity app....
Excellent app. I only use the power button to turn phone on and off...
And the bonus has been I don't accidently turn off the screen when turning volume up and down... was a constant menace on my note 2
Lately my girlfriend has been having issues with her GS7 edge, she has the screen timeout for 1 minute yet the screen turns off randomly when she's scrolling or texting or just about anything.
Also when she has her phone face down laying on her she notices the screen flashes blue.
And just the lag on the phone, she tells me when she's messaging a lot her phone lags. When she unlocks her phone weather its using her fingerprint or the pattern to unlock it. So I suggested her waiting for a minute before she answers back and it does improve it but is that something she's going to have to do for now on or is there something to fix these things.... I know it's touch wiz and there is always lag when you are dealing with it but I don't really know since I've always used Nexus devices.
my note 3 screen has went out the keys and everything all works i can her it ring and notfications i just can see anything at all
ive tried unplugging the ribbon and the 2 min power drain thing lol .. i really need help
I have this happen to me daily lately, usually for me my phone reboots and screen is back up, but I'm worried it won't come back one of these days unfortunately. My bottom keys light up too, but screen just goes black. Occasionally my screen comes back on its own but usually needs a reboot
