Pixel 4 & Noled app - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Is anyone successfully using the Noled app (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730692) on a Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL? I've installed it on my Pixel 4 and it displays notifications for about 20 seconds. Then, without any intervention from me, the home screen of the phone displays. If I don't touch the phone, the screen turns off in one minute, and Noled does not resume its display.
In the Noled settings, Notification Timeout is set for No Timeout. Even if I set it for 3 hours, Noled displays notifications for about 20 seconds and then opens the home screen.
Facelock is not enabled.
Screen lock is set to None.
I'd love to hear any suggestions as to how to get Noled to display notifications until I dismiss it.
If you've had success with a similar app, I'd like to hear about that, too.

[Q] Ambient Display issues

Hello to everyone,
I have a Note 4 N910F with stock Android 5.0.1 and i have seen some issues with the ambient display.
With this feature the phone is supposed to turn its screen on every time a notification arrives. My phone turns its screen on for some notifications like messages and viber but for other applications the screen doesnt turn on. Allthough if i press the home screen the notification is there on the lock screen.
Its kinda annoying thing because thats one of the major functions about android lollipop.
I would like to mention that its not any settings problem because all the notifications for its application are enabled on my phone.
If anyone knows if this is normal or software issue or application issue it would be very helpful. Thank you.
First of all... How did you get ambient display to work?
I don't have the option although sammobile posted a video with a lollipop rom having this feature.
I dont know if i am right but by ambient display i mean that when a notification arrives it appears on the lock screen and the screen turns on.
For me for some apps the notification is on the lock screen and the screen doesnt wake but for other apps like messages and viber both notifications and screen wake is there.
for that reason i use an app that whenever there is a new notification the screen turns on.

Hey. Could you share your csc files so that I can enable amibent display on my device?? Your device must have it only because the country you're in.
That's not ambient display. This function is missing in the recent release of 5.0.1 touchwiz. Sammobile did show it being there in the sound and notification menu above the daydream option but seems Samsung left it out in the release. I'm thinking that the delay with release for other European countries is due to bugs and missing items, I'm not sure. The original delay was to get tw lollipop to work with the vr headset. At present its hit and miss with notifications lighting up the screen when they arrive. Some apps do it and some don't. Ambient display is where you pick up the phone and notifications are shown in black and white for quick glance as is the case for nexus 6 lollipop or cm12. I'm hoping the rollout to other countries well have solved the missing ambient display and the priority notification not having any time option like in blocking mode on kk.

Screen turns on after turning off

Does anyone have an issue when pressing the power button, the lockscreen will come back on for about 3 seconds and then turn off again. I can't figure out what is causing this to happen.
Just checked and I don't have this problem. Weird. Have you changed any settings on done a update?
The usual culprit is probably an app that uses notifications and clashes with the Ambient Display.
Try turning off your Ambient Display from the Display settings and see if it still does the same. If not, then you need to find the app that causes the Ambient Display to think it has received a notification when in fact, it has not.
I found that LightFlow is causing behaviour like the one you've seen. I turned off Ambient Display because I like LightFlow more.

Help, Gmail notifications turning screen on

I cannot figure this out for the life of me. Anytime I get a gmail, it turns on my screen. Never had this issue before even with other galaxy devices. Its happening as if its like one of the stock galaxy devices where they all turn the screen on with notifications. Can anyone help me keeping my screen OFF with gmail notifications? I tried BlueMail but its own built in LED settings aren't working an than BlueMail doesn't show up in light flow. Any help?
Would like to know if there's a solution too. Prefer not having the screen turn on for every notification.
Are you using Lightflow or any other LED manager?
I have this issue as well. Never used lightflow on any of my devices.

LED Notifications

For some reason the notification LED doesn't function on my XL2. I installed LED Blinker Pro and it works like a charm. Just thought I would share incase anyone else is having this issue.
Settings, apps and notifications, notifications, blink light. It's off by default.
Now go get lightflow and go nuts.

I did that and it still didn't work. That app solved the problem though.
Have you used light manager? And if so which do you like better. Im using Light Manager but that app you showed looks more polished.
Also have you noticed this time around the phone has trouble making some colors. Like yellow looks kinda yellow/green and white is kinda blue/white
Light Flow works. But it seems that the built-in notification light triggers first overriding Light Flow. For example, if I get a text message (fast blue blinking light set in Light Flow), I get the slow, white stock notification. If I unlock and then immediately re-lock the phone Light Flow kicks in with the set blink/color settings. I've tried to disable the stock light notification, but if I do Light Flow won't work at all.

Light Flow didn't work well for me.
So is this just a software issue that could be addressed by Google in the future?

My 6p was the same way when I first got it.... But once they built in led notification into the settings of the roms I then got more cookies and very crisp distinct colors too..... Im sure the custom roms and kernel will fix this and the OLED panel color issues
Light Flow works perfectly for me.
Enable the light in system settings.
Disable it when there is an option in specific apps.
Make sure it has the right permissions.

I installed the New Pixel 2 XL Launcher on my OG Pixel XL. My light stopped after installing, so I had to go to the launcher settings (long press blank area on home screen, Home settings, Notification Dots, Blink Light) and turn on the light in there to get it going again.

Yep, that's how you get the LED to work. It's really wonky and idk why they buried the setting in that spot.

Right? I found it by accident, and wondered how many people will never find this setting.

Nokia 6 SystemUI Tuner

I used an app named Activity Launcher and found under SystemUI an activity called System UI demo mode(com.android.systemui.DemoMode).
There it has three categories; status bar, Do Not Disturb and Ambient Display
Under Ambient Display there is an Always On toggle. After setting this to on and powering off the screen the Pixel Ambient Display shows of but only for a few seconds. After that it blinks for a few times before it goes completely off. If you trigger the Ambient Display with the proximity sensor it does the same routine. Why is this happening? Is there a way to fix that blinking?
