I currently own the Galaxy S7 edge UK (unlocked) unbranded handset, however my network is with Three. Supposedly you need to have bought the handset from them to have 4G Super-Voice (VoLTE/HD-Voice) enabled, so I'm wondering if anyone can help me source the firmware. I'm sure this will be useful to anyone else on the Three network with an unbranded handset.

Do you know what csc code they use?
Might it be this one?
Please note that this is just pure guessing. But it was the only one I could find that had anything to do with "three"

Three is a brand of CK Hutchison Holdings (Hutchinson 3G -> H3G). More info about: HERE.
Just download the app from playstore

I'm trying to do the same thing. Have you managed to get it workking. I found the following three firmware: H3G-G925FXXU3QOLD-20160111115713.zip
Latest BTU firmware has it as default (3 sim on unbranded S7 Edge).
Use the Samfirm tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647).
1. Set "Model" as SM-G935F and "Region" as BTU.
2. Check "decrypt automatically".
3. Extract the decrypted file with WinRar or similar, then use odin to flash.

No need to lock will stay default unless it auto changes by itself but for me its okay and 4G voice works fine as default like on all devices
There is no need to flash H3G firmware any more. I have returned back to stock unbranded volTE works.
Just use smartswitch to revert back to stock firmware!
Sorry for the bump but does anyone know what settings were changed on the S7 root directory to allow unbranded devices to connect? I looking at modifying the files myself for the 6P as Three don't seem to be taking the rollout seriously for unbranded devices - so far the only thing I've found that relates to H3G is the mcfg_sw.mbn that states "No VoLTE" within, though the Swedish H3G configuration allows VoLTE, so I'm going to try modifying that unless anyone around has any ideas?
I've got a three s7edge couldn't get volte to work ended up flashing btu firmware and there is it listed in Network and it's working when there is no coverage as I get a volte displayed along with the empty signal bars
Didn't trip knox and warranty intack

My stock firmware on a UK model has VoLTE enabled for Three UK. It's just not prioritised and only kicks in when low 3G signal.
As far as I understand it it will only work when u have no or very little signal
It's worked for me a few times such as deep inside a building

I recently got a SM-G950W (galaxy S8 Canada) it was locked to rogers previously now the phone in factory unlocked with a code and I now have a Freedom mobile sim card inside
The phone works fine, but there is some bloatware from Fido that will not go away even after a factory reboot, and I want to ensure that I will be able to get Wi-Fi calling enabled for Freedom mobile.
I would prefer to have an unlocked firmware with no bloatware, but if that would prevent me from getting Wi-Fi calling I would rather just install Freedom mobiles firmware and take the bloat that comes with it.
I'm really a Noob at this and don't fully understand the difference between a AP, CSC or firmware. is firmware the same as CSC?
I just want the least bloated version that will get me the quickest updates and will receive all the features and frequency bands that my new carrier (freedom mobile - previously known as Wind Mobile) provides. How would I go about doing that?
When I run *#1234# I get these values
AP: G950LOU1AQEJ
CP: G950LOU1AQEJ
CSC: 950W0YA1AQEJ
Can someone help me out

Yes I saw that thread. Unfortunately its entirely about switching the US variants. I am looking for advice about switching the Canadian variant from a Canadian network to another Canadian network.
I've looked all over the forums and all the threads on carrier switching refer to switching US S8 variants to US carriers.
Can someone please explain or point me to a thread that explains how to carrier switch Canadian providers that would be fantastic. In particular I want to go from Rogers to Freedom Mobile (aka wind mobile) . My phone has been factory unlocked.

I can tell you from experience that freedom does not have any carrier specific features, so doing a firmware switch wont benefit you in any way I dont think.
You can however go onto sammobile and download the firmware for freedom and flash it using Odin. Again probably no real benefits. You would benefit if you were going the other way tho, as Rogers, Bell and Telus have carrier specific settings in their firmwares.
But since you are carrier unlocked, you could try a factory reset then put your freedom sim in it and boot up. It might install the freedom files. My S7 worked this way when i went from a Bell locked phone to a Koodo sim...
Edit: That link has an unlocked canadian firmware as well, you could use that firmware too.
Open the dialer and type *#243203855# then select GLW, this will change your csc to wind mobile/freedom, it'll wipe your phone..

Hi Peachpuff. I have an unlocked S8 phone from a Bestbuy canada marketplace seller. I tried using your code to change to the Telus CSC so I can get VOLTE but got the invalid MMI code error message. The about phone says its an SM-G950FD, and the only code the phone appears to accept is the one displaying the EMEI.
Hope you have some guidance on that ?
Thanks

That's not a canadian s8, its an international one, so that code won't work and i doubt you'll get volte working at all.
Just enjoy your root friendly multi sim phone.
What's the difference between USA(XAA), USA(TMK), and USA(CSC)?

If you want full T-Mobile firmware with T-Mobile apps, logo and other features, then you need TMB. XAA is for an unlocked Galaxy S8(my S8 has it)

It depends on the model. If you have an unlocked US model, then WiFi Calling, VoLTE and Band 12 are already supported. My model of S8 is G950U1
I just realized that all three versions USA(XAA), USA(TMK), and USA(CSC) of the most recent July 28, 17 version for the S8

I think it might be a mix + carrier needs to support and device needs to be whitelisted in their system. Which model do you have or planning to buy?
XAA will contain most US carrier's CSC codes, so this what US unlocked model comes with.
TMB is for T-Mobile, which is the same as sold by T-Mobile.

If you put T-Mobile sim card, then go to phone app and access the settings and then check if you see WiFi Calling there. To find out what you CSC is, just download Phone INFO app(Samsung) from play store. The launch the app and swipe to the left to go to CSC section.

USA(XAA) is an unlocked version that works with US carriers.

Right, I had that question myself before, but you have to make sure which model you have and what is the CSC of your phone. Carrier versions should be: G950U, but US unlocked is: G950U1. There is a little difference in XAA and others, but if you really want unlocked that would have CSC codes of most US carriers, then use XAA image. It will allow you to put any US sim card in the phone and it should work.
I would suggest checking out the carrier switching threads here. There are several... One here and at least one other I think in the T-Mobile S8 guides forums section, that walk you through changing the firmware to the US unlocked while keeping carrier features.

You will need to download the USA(XAA) firmware. That will give you the unbloated version and you will have WiFi calling and volte with T-Mobile. Just type in sm-g930u1 and select the XAA firmware. I have full T-Mobile capabilities with that firmware which is the US Unlocked model.
Make sure to use the regular csc file and NOT the home csc file.
Early access for those of you who know what this is, and want to see what you can find inside. I compress extra small for storage and bandwidth savings, so you'll need 7zip or WinRAR etc to extract - the default Windows unzipper can't handle it.
Retail firmware should be coming soon, and I'll put up another thread similar to my existing ones, once I have access to it.

This is very interesting, because Samsung stopped using specific carrier designation letters in their model numbers after the Note 7, for all flagship devices. Yes, I know - I have already posted the full firmware in a separate thread.
So far, there appears to be G977B, G977T, and G977U models. So we'll have to wait and see what the differences are, and how the firmware will differ
Hi;
Do you guys think there'll be an unlocked variant on the State's side?
Would it be necessary? Or just SIM unlock the Verizon variant?
Thank you.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's SIM locked. Pretty much all Verizon phones show a notification that says "This is not a Verizon SIM" - even if they're unlocked - if you insert a different carrier's SIM. If you can post a picture or screenshot of what you're seeing, that might help us clarify things
this is the pop up that occurs

Buy the $30 prepaid plan and leave the Verizon sim in for 24 hours after its activated and then pop in another sim. Should work.
The Verizon G977U comes unlocked. I am currently using T-Mobile. I don't mind bc I upgraded from note 8. but I just don't like the Verizon boot and all apps ect.., also the "non Verizon Simcard "message.
in my note 8 I put any simcard and it will reset to that simcard carrier with original carrier boot and apps. . I will like to have the same effects in this device.
if anyone is interested in testing with this device it is available.
I've seen G977N in YouTube and it doesn't have any carrier (maybe that's the unlocked version)
Will this support S10 5G firmware?
