Hey there, I have a Google alert set for anything posted about this phone but so far nothing has come up on how to root it. Just two sites on how to update its version of android. (Sorry, I'm not allowed to post links as I'm a brand new user to xda, but likely these sites are not of use to you)
I'm still waiting for a way to buy it! And I've been waiting a long time. May I ask how you purchased it? Any help you could give I would really appreciate!

OK, twrp cannot mount data or storage at the moment because your device has encryption enabled and TWRP does not support Samsung encryption at the moment.
To mount data and storage data needs to formatted to remove encryption and a custom boot.img used to disable forced encryption.

Flash with ODIN or extract the boot.img and flash with TWRP.
Boot to TWRP format DATA(not wipe). Please note this will delete all user data.
Reboot to TWRP, should now be able to mount data and make backups.
Boot to OS, forced encryption should be disabled.

Yes It works fine now, even after reboot there is full access! I can now mount Data partition in twrp!
I get my paycheck tomorrow, so beer is incoming!
But there are some issues now in OS, most probably because the boot.img is for A910F and I'm on A9100... The navigation keys does not light up and is not working, also it will not turn on wifi even though I flip the switch. But finally some developer is taking the time for A9!

Those issues are almost certainly because of the kernel. Post your boot.img from the stock firmware.

It is great that such a serious developer starts to work for a9 pro and there are results immediately. @ashyx is there any way to put somehow anyhow a910f firm into a9100?

I thought so as well, that is why we cannot crossflash the A910F firmware to A9100. Anyway here is the boot.img from A9100! Thank u once again!
Btw, beer incoming!
No way to use international kernel somehow for a9100?
Since I had some troubles installing CyanogenMod on my 5c, I decided to write a Guide how to do it the easiest way and avoiding problems. Credits for the Development go to Meticulus, who developed the ROM!
you find the GUIDE on my Homepage
hopefully this saves you some Time when installing CM!
cheers,
Johannes
Hello,
I'm struggling with twrp (cannot boot it), thank you for your guide! I will use the recovery install part and possibly install the ROM as well! Is this pure Cyanogenmod, with no EMUI or stock Huawei apps? Also, are there any concerns as to what works and does not work?
UPDATE: The recovery linked in your guide does work for my NEM-L21. I extracted the ZIP file, and flashed the recovery.img inside as instructed. Proceeding with full dump + TWRP backup, and installing Cyanogenmod on my stock 5c, running EMUI 4.1, with unlocked bootloader and android 6.0.
Kind Regards
TwinAdk
Nice guide
The ROM works really well :good: No unusual behaviour so far, and the camera is fine!
Upon first boot, it requires a password to unlock the data partition, but this is due to the encryption on the partition being enabled from the stock rom. This is solved by rebooting into TWRP, and wiping data (the guide tells you to do this as well, no worries) :good:
I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE CYANOGENMOD ON MY 5C!! YES!! :highfive:
Kind Regards

Hi, when prompted with the password, reboot into recovery, and format data partition (and only that partition!). Then reboot again. It destroys the encryption of the data partition, but that must happen as cyanogenmod cannot decrypt it as of yet

It asks for the password, at that time you reboot via the hardware keys and enter recovery.
Have you made a system dump AND a full TWRP backup as the instructions said?

Hello,
The password that TWRP requires is your personal password/pin/pattern that you use to unlock your device, it's needed to desencrypt your data, because oreo have encrypt data not as Nougat and before.

I am planning on rooting my OnePlus 5 but would be more comfortable with more information.
The phone is unlocked and I have a copy of twrp-3.3.0-0-cheeseburger.img and Magisk-v19.3.zip.
I understand the root process, boot into fastboot, flash twrp using adb, switch to the
twrp recovery, wipe cache then install Magisk-v19.3.zip.
But in my googling I have seen mention of noverity treble.
I have no idea what it is, where to get it, whether it is still required and what will
happen if I do not flash it.
Can anyone fill in the details
thanks

Seems you didn't read the root thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...k-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877/post72748930 where it's explained. It's for preventing the OxygenOS to encrypted your device again upon boot.
I did read that but still wasn't sure, which is why I asked here.
So i take it that if I wish to remain encrypted I only have to flash twrp and magisk.
Is that correct?
thanks
