In my prvious phones, including some lg g-series, there was an option in settings to change the location mode between "high accuracy", "device sensors" and "battery saving"
However, this is not an option under >location in my v35
is it the same for everyone?
is that option somewhere else?

i know where the location settings are, what i'm saying is that there's no option there to switch between the three modes
there's options for bluetooth and wifi scanning, qualcomm izat, and the google location settings
there is no option to only use gps, mobile networks, or both

They are there, but labeled differently in Pie. That's what I'm trying to tell you.
Stop looking for the old option names.
Go to Location.
If you turn Accuracy OFF, then it reverts to GPS only.

My old device was htc wizard. There was an option to disable gsm (phone) only. Is there any way to do this in g1? I just want to avoid calls and in the same time to use wifi. Airplane mode doesn't work for me, because it disables wifi too

Not quite the way you are accustomed to it, but there is a 'way' around it... you basically leave the phone on but you can turn on call forwarding... settings > call settings > call forwarding > always.
It doesn't turn the phone off but it won't ring either.

i was wondering the same thing, there might come out with a fix for this in the next update.
demontefixo, i was using the same solution, but I hoped for real solution to disable GSM. Anyway I will just wait
PS: This device is amazing I'm so happy with it. I wasn't using windows on my computer and laptop, and now i am completely MS free
Install anycut and Create a Software to Hidden Application named Phone Info, their you can see the Phone or Radio disable type of option. I have Tried it
It can actuall disable Radio and keep the Wifi on, But i could not renable radio and must have to reboot the phone.
Through the same Phone Info shortcut you can enable it to use WCDMA only or just prefer WCDMA or use GSM only. I think that is what mony87 was looking for.
Or you can go to:
Settings
Mobile networks
Operator selection
If you only see T-Mobile then Search Networks.
Select a non subscribed Network like ATT
It will tell you you your SIM card does not allow a connection...
But if you don't re-select TMobile the Phone Connection will turn off.
To get your Phone Connection back, just select TMobile

I thought I had the same issue but you actually can re-enable the radio after you turn it off...it just takes a while...
Bring up the dialer, type in: *#*#INFO#*#*. Shouldn't need to hit enter. Scroll all the way down, and hit "Turn off radio".

I got the official Alltel 6.1 ROM, and when I go to Google Maps to the "Use GPS" option, I get a "No GPS receiver detected." Please help, as I don't want to have to use Allel Navigator.
In your phone settings is your location set to ON and the com port set to 4??
Let me clarify...in your GPS settings is your GPS program port set to 4? and make sure that in GOOGLE MAPS that your GPS settings are set to COM4 and 57600. It works for me on a fresh install of alltel ROM.
if i do this i still need external gps hardware for it to work.. is that right?
I have all the settings too like you said up above. still doesn't work.
go to:
Start > Settings > Click on your "Phone" icon > click "Services" tab > Make sure "Location Setting" is highlighted, then click the "Get Settings" button.
Make sure it is checked on, then click "ok" in the top right.
Then go to google maps, click menu and make sure use gps has a check mark next to it, if not click it. (its something along the lines of use gps).
that should take care of your problem.
if you ever have to hard reset your phone you will have to do this again.
Check out my old thread here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478910. It was a pain, nut I finally got it working in the end. After the shadow tech fix I consistently get lock in less than 30 seconds outdoors, indoors does`nt work as well, but its still better. This is the only way the get the gps to work correctly on your phone and not pay Alltel 10 bucks a month for their Alltel Nav.

There is more, somewhere. I've tried almost everything out there with no luck. The GPS "Debug Info" in FieldTrial shows N/A on all of the settings. I gave up, but would like to get it working after other ideas show up.
I do have 6.1, Alltel ROM 3.10.671.1, Radio 3.42.30 ...
Make sure location settings is on. if your on Alltel then definitaly do Shadow-tech's GPS fix found here--->
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36377
Then install the attached GoogleMaps.cab
After install go to menu in google maps then options then GPS settings and make sure "managed by windows" is checked. exit out then go back into google maps menu and click use GPS and it should work.

I'm using the Extended Control app to activate some of the phones functions.....However, I need to be able to quickly toggle Mobile Networks on and off without going through the settings menu. Extended Control has a function to toggle APN, but this doesn't affect the Mobile networks.
Can anyone help me out here please.
Thanks.

I'm using Direct Mode but it doesn't switch on Mobile networks. Can't get my head around the rename APN mode.
try this
you need to first manually set in the settings->wireless and networks, the mobile network flag to on; after that set the mode to apn toggle (check that your apn settings are correct, they might have been modified!)
your extend control will work now to activate/deactivate mobile network

Hello,
I'm starting to hate my S7 Edge, and I'm really missing my Edge 6 Plus. Has anyone else had these problems and perhaps have any advice for resolving them? I've searched around and can't find any other reports of these problems.
First, if I'm traveling, *sometimes* I can't use the Google Navigation App if I'm in motion. For example, if I'm driving home, and I decide to get gas, if I say "OK Google, navigate to the Gas Station" It will of course find a close gas station, and allow me to choose which one. After I do so, the app will plot a course, but then will fail to acquire a satellite. The app will just sit there constantly saying "Acquiring Satellite" (or something to that effect, I can't remember the exact error) but it never does find the satellite. The only fix for this is to repeatedly turn off and on the Location services, until eventually it just works. Which is extremely infuriating not to mention dangerous while driving. I rememeber falling in love with my S6 Edge Plus because it had such an easy time navigating and this S7 Edge is so consistently terrible at locating my position.
Second, this is a problem I did not know I had until today: After mis-placing my phone, I went to the Google "Find my phone" web page on my computer, to force my cellphone to ring. I have used this service before with all my other phones and it never failed to force the device to ring. But this time, my S7 did not ring. Luckilly I was able to find my phone on my own. When I did locate it, i noticed that there was an icon in the notification tray saying "Ringing phone" and yet the phone was NOT RINGING! With the phone in hand, I tried to use the webpage to locate my phone by ringing it again. The same thing happened. It put a notification up that my phone was "ringing" in the phone's notification display, but made no actual noise.
I checked the settings - > Lock Screen and Security -> Find my Mobile, and it asks me for my Samsung Account Password.
Why my samsung account? Why not google? I don't understand.
So I signed in, and google location service is set to ON, as expected. Remote controls is also set to ON. There is a notification at the bottom that says to track and control my device, go to: findmymobile.samsung
So I go there, and I tell it to ring my phone, and what do you know? It rings my phone perfectly. Noise and everything.
How do I switch it over to google's service? I really don't like most of Samsung's software offerings, and would prefer to use native google apps out of convenience. I don't remember ever having this problem with any other galaxy device. Not even my tablet does this.
Can anyone help?
I haven't had any GPS problems with mine (U.S. Sprint version). What are your location settings? Make sure it's set to use GPS, and not just network or WiFi.
Find My Mobile and Android 's service are two different things FMM is Samsung's product. To make sure Google's is active, go to Device Administrators and make sure Android Device Manager is turned on. Then go to Apps, scroll to the bottom and tap on Google, then scroll down and tap on Security. Make sure 'Remotely locate this device' (and 'Allow remote lock and erase' if you want that) are turned on.

-Android Device Manager is turned on in the Device Administrators Section.
-I am not sure how to complete the second instructions. I do not see "Apps" as an option in the Settings panels. Can you advise where to find it?
Thank you!

Settings / Applications
Scroll to bottom, tap Google (on my Sprint S7 Edge, it's the very last item).
Scroll down until you see "Security" and tap there.
The first two toggles (on mine) are "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote unlock and erase."

Ah, I was able to find the settings under Google, however both are already checked. Are there any other settings I need to check?
{{Edit: I toggled the setting just to test it, and now it seems to be working. I don't know why this worked, because the setting was already properly configured. But it works now. *shrug* Thank you so very much for your help and patience!}}
Glad to help. I seen lots of things get fixed when you toggle a setting. Something in the settings file got corrupted, and toggling the settings on and off rewrote what should have already been there. At least that's my guess.
Is there an option on the LG G6 to make app scaling to full screen 18.9 the default for all new apps?
Each time I install a new app I need to manually go in the app scaling settings and change it to 18.9. I would like the install to do this by default.
There aren't many apps that seem to do anything different with this setting, but I want to try them all to see, and hope that some of them will make a difference.
News360 looks pretty nice in full screen reading.
Thanks!

Thanks, but by "secret menu", do you mean the "developer options" settings menu? I have it activatesd, but I don't see any SVC menu? Or is there another secret menu I don't know about and that I need to activate?
Thanks.
Open "Phone", dial this *#546368#*870#, go to SVC Menu, at the end there is "Force Long Display Mode", turn it ON. Reboot and enjoy.

No, i mean the secret menu, not the developer options, you can access to it by dialing *#546368#*870#
If you don't have an'H870 you have to change those digits with the ones of your model.

Thanks.... while I am at it, different topic, but is there a way to customize the "do not disturb" option so that when I have the phone in "do not disturb" on a schedule, it would be silent but still vibrate? The settings don't give that option.
I don't want to have to manually set my phone to vibrate mode. Instead I want my "do not disturb" schedule to be a "vibrate mode" schedule.
Thanks,
