i have a Fire HD 10 (5th) Gen and well with all the amazon bloat ware on it its pretty slow. I was wondering if its possible to flash TWRP and a custom rom afterwards. I found some threads how to root the 5th gen but nothing on TWRP or custom roms. Any chance to get rid off the amazon mass, to get it fast again as it was back in 2015?

No root method for Fire OS 5.3.6.4, just try to customize, remove Amazon bloat, and install Google API service using Fire toolbox:

Are there any Fire HD 8 ROMS other than stock?
No, no custom ROMs yet. The device has a locked encrypted bootloader, which prevents installing custom ROMs. There's also no root yet. I've started a couple threads on the matter. Hello, I would like to know if you are working on any custom rom for the amazon fire hd10 2017.
I ask it because as you have already managed to root the tablet we could use flashfire as in the case of the amazon fire 7 5th gen.
PD: For those who say that first look in the forum I have already done and I have not found anything.

My 2 year-old Fire HD 10 (7th) tablet is running on Fire OS 5.6.6.0 which is based on Android 5 as obvious. Everything works great actually, but I sometimes need to install some office apps. But sometimes I can't find them in Play Store. So that it is kinda challenging to find the suitable apk file.
Shortly, is it okay and possible to flash Fire OS version 7 to my HD10(fireos 5) tablet?
Did anyone try?

It is not a good practice posting the same question in 2 areas of the same device.
That being said, no it wont work...
You are at Amazon's mercy. If you try to flash a different rom not made for the HD10 (7th) it will not work. Your options are to unlock and install lineage 14.1 (which is android 7.1.2) or stay with amazon...

Hi All,
I am currently running Lineage 12 on my 2017 FIre HD 10. I've tried the newer versions and they aren't any good for my use case as there is no hardware acceleration for video. Lineage 12 has become an issue where if I run Youtube Vanced and Reddit is Fun at the same time, usually Youtube Vanced crashes. I know the unit is old and slow but I care about usability. I read a while back that the latest fire OS crippled the device. Is this true? I was thinking of going back to FireOS and running the Fire toolbox to debloat it and see if that helps. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I'm interested in this too -- in my case I just want to revert to the stock (or latest) Fire OS (currently running Lineage 12 on my Fire HD 10 2017) but not sure how to go about doing that.
