Hi,
I own a Chinese head unit running Android 9.1. The model is 8227l_demo.
My problem is that during hearing the radio (stock fm radio app), the navigation directions are way low to hear.
Turning the volume up is making the radio too high so can’t really use this solution.
Also tried to turn up the volume through the app settings, tried to turn it up during the directions are heard and also in the settings choosing “always output volume through device”, but nothing works.
How can I solve it or at least have waze/google maps to mute the other audio while directions are headed?
Anyone?
Plus volume when is sound in maps app. I mean when you hear directions press the up volume. It will be different from the main volume. Also in car enhachment check volume for navigator.
I already tried it, it raises the whole system volume

Hi,
I have the same issue with the radio ourput sound not being balanced with the GPS apps (Google, Waze) and hands free phone calls or while playing local MP3 media as well.
I am not able to get a balanced sound between radio and other apps. Radio sound is very loud.
My head unit is a Xtrons.
Thanks
check for mixing ratio in volume setting and adjust accordingly

Also set Guidance volume to louder in google maps under navigation settings.
Hi,
Already followed all the steps by setting up the volume volume accordingly without success.
Even if the Waze, Google or phone volume is set for the highest possible volume it will not be as louder as it is configured on radio.
Thanks

I listen to the internet radio through the loudspeaker, never with earphones. Consequently I can't use the audiobooster so I was wondering, is there a standalone graphic equalizer that will work without having headphones attached? I use Wunder Radio.
Also, as a secondary issue, the volume control is a problem. I have to use the up/down volume control on the side of the handset but this means that when I lower the radio volume (even the lowest setting is way too loud), my system volume is then on super-quiet setting after I've closed my radio....and I don't hear my text alerts etc.
Is there a way to adjust the volume in apps without adjusting the phone volume settings?
I'm not sure about the graphic equalizer but you can sort your sound issue by going to Settings>Sound & Display and switching the Single volume setting to off. That will allow you to change system sounds (including the volume of your radio software) without affecting the ring volume.
Use SRS WOW. Search it.

Sorry for the stupid question, but which application do you use for internet radio? Thanks, and happy holidays!

It is precisely the system volume which is my problem, this governs text alert notifications amongst other things. Once you have set system volume levels in the sounds menu, they should stay 'set'. I don't like this ability to adjust them using the volume control on the side of the handset - that should be reserved solely for in-call volume adjustments and application volume adjustments.

Will look into it, thanks.
Thanks Dude, I'll check it out! If I find it...
I use a the Satechi Soundfly BT Ultimate Bluetooth Car FM Transmitter to stream music in my car. It works well for music but when I use google nav while playing music and when it has to say a direction, it will turn the music down and say the direction but the volume is VERY low....I cant even hear what its saying. The navigation volume is turned all the way up.
I've noticed the same problem when I used to have my Nexus S. I've even tried a different bluetooth fm transmitter.
Anyone else run into this problem? Any fixes?
I know this sounds stupid, but have you tried upping the volume while in navigation? The meter shows me "navigation volume" which seems to be a different category.
My other suggestion would be to download 'AudioManager' from the Market to see where your individual sound levels are at.
good luck!

Yeah I have tried turning the volume up while in Nav. The navigation volume is turned all the way up. I'll try to download audio manager and see if I can check the volume levels.
I noticed that the volume when the voice reads a message is a lot lower then say the map direction or music app, also when i receive a message the notification is blaring. I know its not a phone but an app issue just wanted to see if anyone else has issues with it. Oh also i feel like the Bluetooth media kinda skips or lags every now and then. Have you been able to get the screen mirroring to work?
Some of the AA volume settings are controlled by the head unit/car. The only way to adjust them is the change the volume while the sound is playing. I had a problem of the directions being too low. I just had to turn up the volume using the car's volume knob while a direction was playing.
I use Tasker to exert more control over the individual volume sliders. For example, the volume slider for Bluetooth is hard to get to (if you can find it at all). In Tasker, I've created a task in which if a Bluetooth device is connected, the Bluetooth volume is then set to the maximum level.

Ill give it shot, I mean i have the blue tooth turn to max and the AA message read back is blaring. How ever if im connected via USB then the read back is too soft if the head unit is turned down. I guess you cant always get what you want.
Any1 having this issue where the spoken turn by turn direction sound via GMaps & Waze over a car's speaker is very muted?
Can't say for sure if it was with 7.1.1 related update(s) or with the early January Google Maps or Late December Waze update.
I know that some Nexus users had 7.1.1 Bluetooth connectivity issues but I hadn't heard about the volume being an issue.
I've checked all my volume related systems settings & the referenced apps' volume settings.
But everything looks like it should be in terms of volume levels & when to come on (always).
Streaming music/radio via other apps & the BT phone works as expected for both sound & performance.
Any ideas?
UPDATE
Found some conversation surrounding this on a Waze forum.
Basically, it has to do with the BT audio level sometimes being attenuated to a lower level for no apparent reason.
It's some sort of bug but not sure if Android or BT or map oriented.
The workaround is to turn up the volume using the phone's volume rocker button while in Waze or GMaps app.
Then close down the app & reopen. It should work automajically the next time the app is used.
I actually have the G7 Power but the forum for that device is not very active right now so I thought I would ask here first.
Since getting my G7 Power I noticed that music I listen to through the BT FM transmitter I have in my car comes through noticeably quieter than it did with my previous phones (Note 4 and OnePlus 5). I am trying to see if a volume amplifier app out there actually works or not but I can't seem to get the desired results. Does anybody here have any similar experiences or insight?
Thanks.
Disable BT Absolute Volume in Developer Settings and turn unit volume to maximum.

I was able to Disable BT Absolute Volume but I don't see a 'unit volume' setting anywhere unless you're just talking about turning up the volume on my phone. It still sounds relatively quiet on my FM transmitter.
