Why are the animated icons of clock and calendar apps not working?
The feature was introduced back in Adnroid O, and it doesn't work with default launcher, but works with third party launchers like Nova Launcher.

Blame Nokia, This launcher is based of NBBLauncher which is more feature rich launcher found on chinese devices. The new, stock nbb launcher based launcher has many features missing like app slices, actions etc.

After installing ADW Launcher EX, i noticed that the Music-Widget, Timescape Widget, and the Picture & Video Widget don't show up in the widget list.
Is there a way to use these widgets within ADW Launcher?
I tried many other widgets from all over the markets, but couldnt find good alternatives for Music and Picture-widgets.

They only work with the Sony home launcher. The widgets depends on something in the launcher. It's the same on htc phones some widgets only work with the native launcher as they depends on the sense overlay of the UI wich is only there in the native lancerer. All 3rd party launchers depends only on the android fw and therefore does not support the different overlays of UI's done by the different company's afaik.

This sucks These widgets are great, but i want my launcher to be more flexible and customizable, so i installed ADW....
So i think i have to search again for some alternatives

Poweramp has the best music widget i dont use a picture one though
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
I already tried out nearly all music-apps/widgets, but there is no widget having the feature(s) i want. It's especially the progress-bar when playing a song and showing how long the song is.
I was wondering this as well, Sucks that you can't get the widget. I was using Winamp for a while, that worked well and has wireless sync with my PC. Only problem is that when using the bluetooth headphones (mw600) the controls always open the default music player.

yeah, they require the SE Framework, and as such won't work with other home launchers!
You could try MIUI music player. Search in the generel android themes and app section.

I tried it, but it doesnt have this feature.
How can I get the accuweather widget to work either out side of the touchwiz launcher or to make touchwiz launcher have settings like nova launcher does? Is there a touchwiz that is heavily modded that the accuweather weather work on?

Would love to know this as well
Apologies if this has already been posted.. The latest version of Walkman (8.4.A.1.4) appears to finally allow use of the Walkman Widget in third party launchers, and on custom ROMS, something previously unavailable, which was incredibly annoying if, like me, you use Nova or Apex. Adding some widgets to my launcher, I spotted the Walkman widget in the list and it works perfectly. I'm currently running CM11 with Nova and finally have access to widget, so if you've been missing it, or trying to use third party widgets, it's now available regardless of which launcher you use.
I can't confirm if it works on Stock with a third party launcher, but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't,, perhaps someone on a stock based rom could confirm.
It's nice to finally have the widget available, so thought I'd pass on the tip!
Yup, it works on any rom with any launcher. The only difference is that stock roms still have the MusicWidget.apk so you practically have 2 widgets to choose from on stock Sony launcher.
So my question is a little different than the basic one I've seen answered here ("can you use stock widgets on 3rd party launcher")
What I want to know is... if I uninstall them as system apps then reinstall the apk as a regular app will the widget show up on Nova Launcher? Really missing the LG Health widget and LG Weather widget.
Thanks
I really doubt it, those widgets are hard coded to the stock launcher if I am not mistaken.
I'm thinking of getting the 6T but have a few queries.
I like the gestures but do they only work on the stock launcher or do they work ok in nova launcher for example? I tried the mate 20 pro and the gestures didn't work well unless the stock launcher was used.
How much customisation is in the stock launcher? Can app names be edited or flow into 2 lines? Can you make folders, what size grids are available etc?
And finally can you change the shelf to be the Google feed instead?
I'm using the gestures with Nova. No issues. T-Mobile 6t
The gestures are OS level, not launcher level. I'm also using Nova with my own custom launcher gestures and I've had no issues with inputting either sets of gestures.
Gestures are working with nova, but not as good as stock:
-on stock, when you go home, animation shrinks into an app icon
-on nova application shrinks to the center of the screen. Also homescreen icons are present on this animation, while nova appears when it is over. I hope, they will fix it.
