MCU vs Firmware Cross Compatibility - Android Head-Units

Hi,
This might sound a weird question but can anyone clarify the following
I got a unit which has MTCE_CZ_V3.17_2 MCU (Wondefoo)
Can I for example flash it with MTCE_MX_V3.41 with HCT4_PX5_9.0_ota(20191125) MX/WITSON Firmware?
Or the best is to remain with original MCU?
Can I stay with original MCU and flash with other brand Firmware like HCT4_PX5_9.0_ota(20191125) MX/WITSON?
In short: can I cross upgrade with "X" MCU and "Y" Firmware or the MCU and Firmware has to be always the same "X" version?
What is the best option / combo? The MCU should always remain the original and can upgrade with other brand firmware or can change both?
Thanks

You better ask this in the MTCD/E areas of this forum:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-discussion-questions-development
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-android-head-units-general
Edit: which you alread did.
Don't cross-post. It is confusing and annoying. I understand that you try to get as much info as possible, but this is not the way.
And IF you cross-post, please refer both threads to one another. That prevents people from spending precious time giving the same answer as someone else already did.

Unknown MCU - Panlelo S13 - px5

Hi, I've unfortunately purchased a head unit I fear has no support.
Here is a picture of the about section, the MCU does not appear to have any structure to it. And I'm uncertain if opening it up (voiding warranty) will let me identify it. (I don't mind voiding it by flashing)
As there's no official firmwares available, there's little for me to go on.

Final bump. I fear this unit has no aftermarket support.
Hi,
I also have such a headunit bought from panlelo.
I've met a problem with getting Internet over bluetooth or over USB from my phone. I only works via WiFi or via USB-3G-modem.
Hence, I was thinking to upgrade to Android 9.0 - to solve this issue, but I don't know what firmware to use for upgrade because I don't know the exact manufacturer of this device.
If you have found more info, please share.
Thanks,
Mihai

Seeking Root for XHCN intel 9853 Head Unit

Hi all
I might have bought the only android device in the entire China, that is un-root-able. :crying:
It is a ZOYOSKII fra Aliekspress with following info:
10,4" screen
Android 9 PIE
CPU Info: CPU:Intel X86_OCTA-CORE 1.8Ghz SC9853 4+64Gb
MCU Version: 2019.10.15 09:51:58 XHCN_53_l82_G23P48F64_Ver:1.0
It seems like the "new" intel processors is not the most used in the industri.
The only other i have seen, is the Joying devices, but i havent been able to find a root that i dear to use on this unit.
Can you help with a root-build for this or can i use some allready-existing root?
Thanks.
There is no "ready to use" rooted build for any SC9853 unit.
You need to use the way as described in the Joying thread and build your own rooted boot.img.

1st of all: You need to get in contact with your seller to get the OEM firmware.
2nd: Install the Joying Extra tools by @surfer63
3rd: continue with posting a screenshot from the extra tool
did you end up finding any information on this unit?
I bought one off of a friend that has the same information and I can't seem to get a few things working
Do you know the Security Code for this unit?
Have you got the latest build?
3368 is the code I believe
have you got something new for your head unit. my head unit also the same, I used joying firmware and root but not compatible
I have the same headunit, has anyone figured out how to root this device from this seller (ZOYOSKII)? I have multiple issues with the headunit, and would be great to collaborate. Another seller (Sinosmart) has the same unit, is the firmware / rooting process the same?
I have one of these too, i need to root so I am able to hide the navbar at the top.
Any updates on this? I just bought a used car with this already installed. I just want carplay and a newer version update.

Help with updating Android

Hello . New here and have a question hopefully someone can help me with.
I have an aftermarket single din Android head unit which I believe is made by XTRONS. It has been working great up until recently when I noticed that more and more apps are not running as the Android OS is outdated. I just wanted to know if anyone has information on how to update it please. The simpler the better if I'm honest as I'm not great at these things. A complete how to guide would be perfect if anyone knows if one exists.
I'm guessing it's just a case of downloading the correct update file (something I would appreciate help finding as don't want to end up bricking the unit), and putting it on a memory card which you then put in the GPS memory card slot in the head unit?
I have been on the settings menu and have brought up the following information.
Model number rkpx3
Android version 4.4.4
Baseband version unknown
Kernel version PX3_V2.00.0020.00.00
Build number common_V1.00.00060.53.1
MCU build number LM-AND-841-7090V1.22
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also wanted to ask if it was just a case of updating the Android OS or if I had to update the MCU as well or is it something you should do anyway?
Apologies if this has been asked before and thanks in advance
