I wanna install GCam for my Mi A1. But i found a lot of GCam version for it in this forum and it make me confusing.
Can you recommend a version of GCam that's best for my phone.

I prefer GCAM 7. I were using the unstable version so far, just installed the stable one. I only miss the possibility of setting the location of the files.
The thing that still doesn't work there is the flash. Pictures are black.
For me its beta version of Arnova8G2 Gcam 6.2.030
Stock android 9.0
Only changed camera 2api with magic

Or the overwhelmer mod on this apk is very good too.

Yes you can, matter of fact you can use gcam on any ROM with little tweaks but try to download simple Oreo gcam apk and install if.it works then good if not then you will need to do little tweaks.

Im using havoc os and also using gcam.
But it is not recording in gcam. Stock camera have some issues regarding recording in dark(color distortion kinda)
I flashed miui camera port,there it works fine
If you have any solutions do let me know.

Used this apk still had the problem on recording video but takes great pictures

Then change rom to msm xtended it gives great performance and battery and gcam also work perfectly without any issue

Working fine for me and I have havoc too. Though video has little low light than picture in artificial light. Try in the morning. It's near perfect.

Hi guys. Nobody posted a thread about this so I posted one. I am using the Xiaomi MI A1 with Pixel Experience rom installed. I got the Pixel 3 GCam Mod from the developer BSG and got the green tint. So I went into Settings>BSG Mod Settings>FIX and turned on the fixed black level. It improved. The green tint was gone but now there's a pink tint. I also used Arnova8g2's GCAM but there was a FREAKING GREEN TINT! Can anyone help please? Thanks
Note: Please don't ask me uninstall the GCam. I really like the Pixel 3 GCam

Hi I did turn off HDR but I am not able to take any photos with it off I don't know why
It is a common problem with modded GCam 6.x... tried multiple distros, all of them share this problem. I suggest downgrading to 5.1 or 5.3 if you'd like to take selfies with GCam, Arnova's builds work perfectly on Mi A1's, but keep on eye out for new 6.x versions. I'll keep on trying out new distros too and will inform you if anything gets fixed.

Which 5.3 versions work? I tried Arnova's 1.4 and 1.5beta2, and BSG's latest 5.3 build, both of them crash when trying to open.

Use 5.1 based version, 5.3 had bugs and were not working properly.

I use 5.1 as my "daily driver", NightSight is the only thing I use 6.1 for anyways.

Hy everyone this camera fix doesn't work anymore its because the Miui android pie build doesn't need any driver override. If you are looking for the camera fix please update to latest MIUI eu rom no matter if its stable or beta camera works in almost all android pie build. I have discontinued this thread and not going post any mod here

Thanks a lot bro, was waiting for this fix. Lemme ask, can't we just edit the XML file and build.prop in stock to that of values you've provided without flashing the zip file? Yet to try. Also, would it work for custom roms like RR etc for A2 Converted Indian variant?

No in that case camera will not work because mi 6x's chines rom does not contain Indian versions camera libs. And in build camera is not optimized for the indian version.
Another request make a similar threat on app section so that users can easily find the mod.

Hi, if you're using stock android one rom then you can add new features to the camera using that XML file. No need to touch that build.prop just place that jasmine_sprout.xml in system/etc/device_features/ if this folder doesn't exist then create it and place the xml file there. If you' have converted to MIUI then you have to flash the zip file and need to edit build.prop. I am not sure about it but it might work for mi 6x custom ROMs which can fix the camera issue for Indian variant of mi A2. Try this zip file in MIUI and let me know if it is working or not. I had thoroughly tested everything before uploading this file. I hope it helps......

Yes its work without turning off the low light enhancement option.
Hi....guys post has updated and the 1st link has removed and new link is available for the full camera fix. Those who are using the camera fix from the older link flash the camera fix V2 for some minor fix and new enabled features.

???Always disable hdr or you can set it to auto for low light enhancement to work properly at night time. HHT night mode works the same as the default one. I think 3D face beauty in front is just a gimmick it does nothing special only big eye and slender works other remodeling and make-up feature doesn't work.
I tried in last miui (converted from mia2)..just black sacreen

Black screen issue now fixed and you can use other camera app also. Flash the camera fix V1 and follow the guide. I am sure it will help you to fix your camera issue.

I know MIUI camera lags try stock mi a2 camera ports. I haven't tried it in weekly build's but still its just the same as stable build camera freezes sometime while clicking picture outdoor. There are some unsupported camera drivers which exist and those drivers are not in use by miui camera. So if we delete the useless camera drivers it should work normally.
Currently im in stock ROM rooted but i can't find any gcam that works good with my phone. The version i have is the fu24 one which works but not as it should for the focus side.
Suggest me a version down below for the stock ROM.

I don't think the focus on any GCam works on the stock ROM after a update. There's a kind of fix where you need to set the image aspect ratio to 16:9 for it to work. You lose a few pixels but hey, at least the camera finally works.

Correct. I'm using my GCam on 16:9 on my Stock, no modification Pie ROM for a while now and have absolutely no issues. And yes, this fix works for all the GCam versions. I have both v5 and v6 and autofocus works on both.

This is the best one I have used so far. If you drop back cam to 9MP the autofocus issue goes away. I'm using stock androidone pie on MiA1 GCam_6.2.024_N7P_test1.apk

I gave up... Installed PE with A10 everything is working way better than the stock ROM also found a overwhelmer gcam that doesn't crashes at all.

It's a bit more complicated than that but its not hard to be honest . This is the guide i followed to flash my mi a1 https://telegra.ph/Installation-Guide-For-Mi-A1-Pixel-Experience-03-26 . Take a backup of everything before flashing the ROM if something goes wrong also watch a couple videos before trying it . Good Luck
I know, I know, I'm on XDA so I must want the GCAM mod all the way!
I've managed to install the Pixel Experience ROM on my Mi Mix 3 5G and I'm loving what I see so far, I just miss the stock camera. I've extracted the APK from the stock ROM but it won't install on my Pixel Experience ROM. It's throwing up the error "App not installed" when I try to install the extracted APK. I assume this is possibly due to it trying to save in the same folder as the 'stock' camera that comes preinstalled with the Pixel Experience ROM.
Does anyone have an installable APK for the stock camera or suggest any way of me editing the APK to be able to install it?

You should use anx camera with this Rom instead of Google camera
To anyone using this rom, anxcamera is a must have! It's the miui camera ported over to AOSP and everything is working fine (incudes front flash, 960fps slow motion, 4k h265, filters and effects and the lot) I haven't experienced any bugs with it either and the quality in on par with the Google camera app. Download from the official website as the developer closed his xda forum

I've tried a few gcam's and anx, but all I get is a static image in Camera. If I move the phone around, the first image that locked in the camera is static, it doesn't change. And no, it's not an image I took from pushing the camera button, it's static from starting up the camera.
I don't seem to be able to get this to work. If anyone has any filenames of what I should download, that'd be really helpful! Or better yet, any links. I would really appreciate the help!
